Wedding Venues in Valais

Valais is where a foreign couple's mental image of Switzerland actually lives: Zermatt below the Matterhorn, car-free by rule and reached only by train from Täsch, where the road for ordinary cars stops; Verbier and Crans-Montana further along the same string of resort towns; the Rhône valley running below them all, vineyard slopes on one side, orchards on the other. For a destination wedding this is rarely an optional stop; Zermatt in particular is one of the two or three places a couple names before they've even opened a venue list. What it costs in travel time for a guest list flying in from further afield, it pays back in a backdrop nobody else at home will have seen at a wedding.
