Open the About page on this site and the address bar reads /switzerland-wedding-photographer. Click through to Contact and the browser tab says "Lugano wedding photographer," though the page underneath is nothing but a form and 2 phone numbers. The shared price list for family, maternity and newborn sessions sits at /switzerland-elopement-photographer. None of those 3 pages is actually about a wedding. Every page on this site, whatever it holds, gets stamped with Lugano, Switzerland or a genre word in its own web address or its own browser-tab title, and the pattern holds across all 26 pages the site's sitemap lists. It tells you less about what she shoots than about how she built the site: for search engines first, and the genre labels came along for the ride.

What she actually is, by her own account: a documentary and lifestyle photographer named Barbara Williams, working out of Lugano. She grew up in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland until 16, then followed her mother to the US, where she spent 23 years in Sarasota, Florida, before moving back to Ticino and settling in Lugano. That biography matters for an English-reading, foreign-couple audience: she isn't translating her way through client emails, she grew up fluent in English on top of whatever she carries from a Ticinese childhood, and the site runs a full parallel Italian menu (In italiano, prezzi & info in italiano) alongside the English one. No German or French version exists, and nothing on the site claims either language.

The homepage's own tagline calls her a "swiss family photographer" documenting "families, maternity and newborns," and the gallery links under it list Families, Maternity & Newborns, then Weddings & Elopements, in that order. Click through to any of the 3 genre landing pages and they render identically: a title, an uncaptioned photo gallery, and one button pointing to Info & Pricing. Nothing on the Weddings page, the Families page or the Maternity & Newborn page is written specifically for that genre. If you're deciding whether this is a wedding specialist who also shoots families, or a family photographer who also does weddings, the marketing copy genuinely doesn't take a side. It treats all 3 the same: as galleries, not sales pitches.

The pricing does take a side, though, and it's a clearer answer than any of the landing pages give. Documentary sessions, meaning families, maternity and newborns, are priced by the hour: 1 to 2 hours for CHF 600, a half day for CHF 900, a full day for CHF 1400. Weddings and elopements aren't priced that way at all. They're sold as day-length packages with their own deposit and their own delivery clock, the structure any full wedding client would expect and nothing a portrait client needs. Whatever the landing page says or doesn't say, the business itself treats a wedding as a different transaction, not a longer version of a family shoot.

Packages priced by the day, not the hour

On the page the main INFO & PRICING nav item actually links to, the wedding and elopement tiers run: a small wedding or elopement (3 to 4 hours) at CHF 1800, a half day (7 to 8 hours) at CHF 2800, a whole day (12 to 13 hours) at CHF 4000, and a 2-day wedding at CHF 6000. Booking requires a non-refundable CHF 500 deposit, and she says photos come back "normally within 4 weeks after the wedding." Travel is folded into the fee for weddings anywhere in Switzerland or Northern Italy; anywhere else in Europe or beyond, it isn't.

Follow the small down-arrow next to that same nav item, though, and there's a second wedding pricing page, "Weddings and Elopements Pricing," with a different set of numbers for what reads as the identical tier structure: an intimate 2-hour elopement at CHF 850, small wedding or elopement CHF 1500, half day CHF 2500, whole day CHF 3500, 2 days CHF 5500. It also mentions something the main page doesn't: a printed 30 by 30 centimetre album with 20 pages, from CHF 400, thrown in free with the 12-hour and 2-day packages. And it still carries a line reading "Because of Corona Virus my refund policies have changed, please check with me for any questions," which places at least this page's last real edit somewhere in the pandemic years. A third page, aimed at family vacation and adventure photography rather than weddings specifically, prices its own "Elopements in Switzerland" section at the same CHF 1500/2500/3500/5500 figures as the second page, but calls the CHF 1500, 3-hour tier "Intimate" rather than "Small," which is the label the second page gives to its own CHF 850, 2-hour option. 3 pages, 3 sets of numbers, for what is, on paper, one wedding photography product. The nav-linked page is the one a visitor actually lands on first, so it's the one to trust for a current quote, but budget with the discrepancy in mind and confirm the figure directly before you book.

What travels with the fee, and what doesn't

Delivery is by private web gallery on every package, documentary or wedding, with the option to order prints or an album afterwards. The wedding FAQ describes her own approach in her words: "whether you're having a simple civic wedding, a traditional church celebration or eloping on top of a mountain, my goal will be to capture your story with artistic and timeless images." That's the only place anywhere on the site she names a ceremony type, and it's offered as a style note, not a claim about who can legally marry whom where. The deposit structure is consistent everywhere it's stated: CHF 500, non-refundable, due at booking, with the balance due the week before the day. What isn't consistent is exactly when you'll see your photos: "normally within 4 weeks" on the main pricing page, "normally within 3 to 4 weeks" on the secondary one. A minor gap, but worth asking about directly rather than assuming either figure.

2 phone formats, one number, reachable from anywhere

The Contact page lists the same mobile number twice, once in Swiss local-dial format and once as an international WhatsApp line: 079 279 49 67 domestically, +41 79 279 49 67 for WhatsApp. For a couple planning from another country, that's the detail that actually matters more than the page's own confusing title tag: there's one working, checkable channel that doesn't require a Swiss SIM to use. The site itself shows no sign of having gone quiet. Its sitemap was regenerated in mid-July 2026, 7 weeks before this was written, and a gallery labelled "Andermatt '25" shows a session shot the year before. Nothing on the site reads as dormant.

What's missing is the kind of detail a dedicated wedding photographer's site usually leads with: no stated count of weddings shot, no years-in-business figure, no named venues or couples on the portfolio pages, no testimonial specific to a wedding (the one review on the homepage, in French, thanks her for a session but doesn't say which kind). None of that means the work isn't good. It means the site was built to be found for "Lugano wedding photographer" and several other keyword phrases at once, and the wedding-specific proof a couple would want to see wasn't part of that plan.

If you want a photographer whose whole identity is built around weddings, with a dedicated portfolio and years of wedding-only testimonials, this isn't that. What you get instead is a working, English-speaking documentary photographer based in Lugano who treats a wedding as its own priced product with its own deposit and delivery terms, who is reachable by WhatsApp from wherever you're planning from, and whose own site can't quite agree with itself on what that product costs. Ask for the current figure before you commit to one from the page.
