Schloss Schadau

Thun, Lake Thun

Tap a star to rate

Schloss Schadau stands in its own park on Lake Thun, with a boat landing on the shore and the historic Scherzligen church, documented as far back as the 8th century, right next door. Ceremonies take place by the water, and the celebration then moves into the Rougemont Hall, which seats up to 70 guests.

The registry office holds civil weddings on the grounds on Thursdays in the summer season, so the legal ceremony and the party can happen in the same place; bookings go through the cantonal registry about a year ahead. Catering is in-house, with the castle kitchen offering everything from a flying dinner to a five-course menu that changes with the season, and there are guest rooms for those staying over. The site runs in German and English.
