Mery Belvedere Weddings

Lugano, Switzerland

Tap a star to rate

Mery Belvedere's own About page names two Italian regions alongside her home canton: "From exclusive weddings in Ticino, the enchanting area where I live, to romantic weddings on the Italian border, in Piedmont and Lombardy, with their exclusive locations." That reads like the kind of reach every destination planner claims until you check it against actual work, and one entry in her portfolio backs half of it up with a real address rather than a region name. V&E's shabby chic wedding ran at Mulino dell'Olio, an old mill "surrounded by a bucolic panorama in the Clivio's countryside, in the province of Varese," on an unstated July date. Clivio sits in Lombardy, not Piedmont, so the claim holds for one of the two Italian regions the About page names and not, in anything this write-up found in her published work, for the other. It's a real cross-border job regardless: a Switzerland-based planner running a full Italian vendor chain, a florist, an officiant, a caterer and a graphic designer, onto foreign soil for a client, rather than a line of copy nobody has tested.

What she actually sells sits on one page, split into 9 areas rather than the full-planning, partial-planning and day-of tiers this category often uses to structure a fee. Location choice comes first (the site's own words: she has "worked with a dozen of venues in all the italian-swiss border"), followed by flower design, style consultation, catering and banqueting, photos and videos, light design, entertainment ("live music with singers and musicians, a DJ"), transfer and car rental (anything from "a sports car to a vintage one"), and a wedding gift line. None of the 9 carries a price, a percentage, an hourly rate or a stated minimum spend anywhere on the site, and nothing on the page separates a couple who wants full coordination from one who only wants her for flowers and a car. It reads as a menu of what she'll take on, not a set of purchasable products.

Her own background traces back to floristry rather than event management as a starting point: "I fell in love with the wedding world when I was very young, as a qualified florist," before the site adds visual merchandising, marketing and business planning to that base. The About page also carries a row of animated counters labelled Weddings, Years of experience and Venues, the kind of stat block a couple would actually use to size up how established she is. In the page's own source code none of them resolve to a number; they're a JavaScript odometer with no final value written anywhere in the HTML, so there is no annual wedding count to report, verified or otherwise. The homepage carries a second, stranger version of the same problem: an "Awards and reviews" line reading "ONE OF THE TOP TEN MOST BEAUTIFUL WEDDING VENUES IN THE USA," sitting directly above the same unresolved counters. Nothing about a Ticino wedding planner matches a USA venue award, and the phrasing reads as leftover theme demo content nobody swapped out. Neither claim appears anywhere else on the site, and neither is used as fact here.

The same florist, 4 weddings running

4 of her dated portfolio entries give a clearer picture of the work than the services page does. At Castello di Mesocco in 2020, for a couple identified only as V&D, she turned "the marquee of the Mesocko Castle into an extension of the front garden," ran 2 distinct colour schemes (all white outdoors, dark wood inside) and moved the ceremony indoors when rain came in, a live example of the on-the-day problem-solving a couple is actually paying for. At Hotel Splendide Royal in 2021, couple C&L handed her the wedding "down to the smallest detail" for a deliberately restrained brief, "classic and elegant... refined and never excessive," in white and pale pink. At Villa Ciani in Lugano in 2024, couple E&M walked from the ceremony through the public Parco Ciani to a reception at Ex Asilo Ciani styled as a burgundy-toned "winter garden." And at Mulino dell'Olio in Lombardy, the fourth piece above, the same pattern holds.

The detail worth naming across all 4: the florist credited is Dahra Living every single time. That's not a coincidence 4 separate clients each landed on independently; it's a working relationship the site never states outright but the case studies show consistently, across a Swiss castle, a Lugano hotel, a public park in the city and a mill across the Italian border. Other vendors change from job to job (Paolo di Falco shot the hotel wedding, Marika Brusorio shot the castle one, a different caterer appears at each venue), which makes the one constant more telling rather than less. This write-up sampled 4 of the site's English-language portfolio entries; it's what showed up in those 4, not a claim about every wedding she's run.

9 services, and everything else the site leaves quiet

Beyond the missing prices, 2 questions this category usually has to answer for a foreign couple go unaddressed here. Nothing on the About, Services, Contact or Wedding Stories pages, and nothing in the one magazine post specifically about weddings "between Switzerland and Italy" (which turns out to be three paragraphs of lake scenery, Lugano, Maggiore and Como, with no procedural content at all) mentions Switzerland's civil preparatory procedure, apostilled documents, certified translations or a registrar. The site is silent on it, not dismissive of it; it simply never comes up. A couple planning to marry legally in Switzerland while working with her would need to source that piece somewhere else.

Language works the same way: the site itself runs in full parallel English and Italian versions of every page, which is a fact you can check in its own URL structure, but neither version states that planning meetings, contracts or the wedding day itself are conducted in English, only that the pages are translated. The English text isn't fully polished ("worked with a dozen of venues," "V&E could not have choosen") in a way that reads like a genuine bilingual small business rather than a professionally localised agency, which is a reasonable thing for a couple to weigh, not a criticism of the work itself.

3 published testimonials round out the picture: from Stefania and Dylan, Laura and Daniele, and Monica and Roberto, all describing her as organised, attentive to detail and, in Monica and Roberto's words, someone to thank "for making our day unforgettable and wonderful." That last review adds "many thanks to her and her staff," the only sentence anywhere on the site suggesting Mery Belvedere isn't a strict one-person operation, though no team page or staff list exists to say who else is involved.

What this adds up to is a small, real, currently active practice (her portfolio was updated as recently as October 2025, per the site's own sitemap) with genuine cross-border reach into at least one Italian region and a recognisable, repeated vendor relationship rather than a rotating cast for hire. What it doesn't give a couple is a way to compare her against another planner on price, package or turnaround before that first phone call. Anyone who wants those answers gets them by asking her directly, at the Lugano number and email the site actually publishes, not by reading the page.
