A family florist with three shops
Blumen Tschan is a family florist whose motto, "Freude schenken seit 1931" (giving joy since 1931), heads every page. It has three shops: the original in Wiedlisbach, a branch in Wangen an der Aare, and, since June 2025, a shop directly at Solothurn's SBB main station. The business is run in the fourth generation by Martina Tschan, a qualified master florist, with a team of trained florists and apprentices. Wedding floristry has its own page, and the service runs from the first idea to the finished floral concept.
The wedding offer
The wedding page says flowers give a wedding its atmosphere, and that the team, drawing on long experience, accompanies couples "von der ersten Idee bis zur Umsetzung eines stimmigen floralen Konzepts": from the first idea to the execution of a coherent floral concept that suits the couple and their celebration.
It names the style range and the main pieces in one sentence: "Ob romantisch, modern, Boho, Vintage oder ganz individuell, gemeinsam gestalten wir Brautsträusse, Tischdekorationen, Kirchenschmuck, Fahrzeugdekorationen und vieles mehr." In English, whether romantic, modern, boho, vintage or entirely individual, the team designs bridal bouquets, table decorations, church decoration, car decoration and much more together with the couple.
The process starts with a personal consultation, in which the team takes time for the couple's wishes and develops the floristry from there. The page invites couples to visit one of the shops directly or to contact the team, and it links to a gallery with a dedicated wedding floristry section.
The gallery page describes its pictures as a look at the shops' daily work, from colorful bouquets and stylish wedding decorations to funeral flowers, arrangements and decorations, and it sorts them into floristry, wedding floristry and funeral floristry. For a couple deciding on a style, that wedding filter is the quickest way to see whether the team's work matches what they have in mind before booking the consultation. Beyond flowers, the shops also sell plants for indoors and outdoors and gift and decoration items.
The team
The company page lists the whole team:
- Martina Tschan, Dipl. Meisterfloristin, owner and managing director
- Daniel Bolliger, administration
- Marlene Hofer, Joëlle Meister, Kathrin Arnold, Katja Nussbaum, Chantal Scheuermeyer, Melanie Bobst and Karin Burkhard, each Floristin EFZ (florist with the Swiss federal vocational certificate)
- Elena Hofer, Jael Zürcher and Patrizia Burch, apprentice florists
Martina Tschan trained as a master florist at schools in Zurich and Innsbruck and worked as a manager in other flower shops before she took over from Elsbeth Fluri-Tschan on 1 July 2017. With seven certified florists on the list, the business has the people to prepare and install a large wedding.
The company page describes the aim as "Unscheinbares in Unvergessliches zu verwandeln", turning the inconspicuous into something people remember, and speaks of floristry made with attention to detail and a lot of heart.
A long history
The company page tells the story in detail. Rosa and Josef Tschan-Güdel, Martina's great-grandparents, started a small market garden at Baselstrasse 5 in Wiedlisbach, on land that once belonged to the Restaurant Krone, and sold vegetables at the Wednesday and Saturday market in Solothurn. Their three sons drew lots to decide who would take over, and Richard Tschan took the business on in 1958. He opened the first flower shop in the family house, expanded the nursery, and built the current shop, which opened in 1972. His daughter Elsbeth Fluri-Tschan took over the shop in 1990, when the nursery was sold.
Under Martina Tschan, the Wiedlisbach shop added the Blueme-Kaffii in April 2018, a small cafe among the flowers with a terrace in good weather and a sweet treat on Fridays, and a 24-hour self-service gift shop in autumn 2018. The Wangen an der Aare shop opened on 14 August 2020 as a flower and jewelry atelier together with nika Schmuck, at Vorstadt 10. The Solothurn shop at the main station opened on 1 June 2025, and the page says it is open 365 days a year.

Courses
The course page lists seasonal workshops with dates, such as table decoration in a wooden box on 25 August 2026, an autumn wreath on 17 September 2026, an Advent workshop on 24 November 2026 and "Oh Tannenbaum" on 8 December 2026. It also offers custom floristry courses for teams, clubs or a special occasion, matched to the group's size, which could suit a bridal party before the wedding.
What the site does not settle
The site is in German and does not mention English. There are no prices for wedding flowers and no packages. The wedding page does not state a lead time, a delivery area for weddings, or whether setup at the venue and clearing away afterwards are included, although church and car decoration imply work on site.
Who it suits
Blumen Tschan suits couples marrying in the Solothurn area and along the Aare who want an established, well-staffed florist to design the whole floral concept, from bouquet to church, tables and car, in a style of their choosing. The three shops, including one at a main station with Sunday hours, make it easy to meet the team in person.
It suits less well couples who want prices before a first conversation or who need English confirmed at the outset. Couples marrying further away should ask about delivery and setup first.
