Blumissimo

Tap a star to rate

Blumissimo is a flower shop and workshop at Ed. Huberstrasse 9 in Grosswangen, in the canton of Lucerne, trading as Blumissimo GmbH and run by Simona Koch with a small team. Wedding floristry has its own page on the site, which calls it "unsere Herzensangelegenheit", the thing closest to the team's heart. For a couple marrying in the Lucerne countryside it offers a clear wedding list and a consultation built around a mood board, with the caveat that the website is in German and publishes no prices.

The shop and its people

The About page introduces Blumissimo as "dein Blumenladen in Grosswangen", a shop with a wide choice of flowers, plants and accessories that also makes individual pieces to order. The team describes itself as young and motivated, and says it makes floral creations "die berühren", that touch people, individually and with great attention to detail.

Simona Koch grew up in Grosswangen and lives near the workshop with her husband and son. She writes that she wanted to become a florist as early as kindergarten, and that "Im Jahr 2019, mit 21 Jahren" (in 2019, aged 21) she set up on her own. She describes herself as creative, full of life and sometimes a little chaotic, and outside work she collects natural materials and plays in the village band, the Feldmusik Grosswangen.

Yvonne Limacher, the second person on the page, lives in the Lucerne hinterland with her family. For her flowers are "die schönste Leinwand der Natur", nature's finest canvas, and she likes to combine shapes and colors so they make people smile, working with an eye for small, fine details. The page gives no job titles or training details for either of them.

The wedding service

The wedding page is headed "Natürlich stilvoll", naturally stylish, with the subtitle floral concepts for your wedding. It makes three concrete points.

First, the flowers are chosen by season: "Jede Blüte wird sorgfältig nach Saisonalität von uns ausgewählt", every bloom is carefully selected according to the season. That means the look of the flowers will follow the wedding month, and a couple set on a particular flower should ask whether it fits their date.

Second, the process starts with a personal consultation in the shop in Grosswangen, where the team goes through the couple's wishes and ideas. Out of that meeting comes "ein individuelles Moodboard", an individual mood board that makes the couple's vision visible and serves the florists as the creative guide for all the flower design. The aim, in the site's words, is to turn the couple's ideas into a coherent concept.

Third, the page lists what the team makes for weddings under "Was wir machen":

  • Brautstrauss: bridal bouquet
  • Nebenbrautstrauss: bouquets for the bridesmaids
  • Wurfstrauss: a bouquet for the bouquet toss
  • Haarkränzli: small hair wreaths
  • Armschmuck: flowers worn on the arm
  • Blumenkinder: flowers for the flower children
  • Ringkissen: ring pillow
  • Anstecker: buttonholes
  • Autodekorationen: car decoration
  • Kirchendekorationen: church decoration
  • Blumenbögen: flower arches
  • freie Trauungen: flowers for free (non-church) ceremonies
  • Individuelle Anfragen: individual requests

It is a thorough list and it covers both a church wedding and a free ceremony. The contact form lets you pick "Hochzeitsfloristik" as the subject, and it also offers "Event Dekorationen" as an option.

A shop in transition

The home page announces a new shop concept from 1 September 26: "Mit unserem neuen Ladenkonzept ab dem 1. September 26 beginnt für uns ein neues Kapitel", a new chapter that the team says will be more natural and more creative, working with whatever materials nature is offering at the time. Under the new concept the workshop is open 12 hours a day ("täglich 12 Stunden geöffnet") and the shop runs on a self-service basis ("im Selbstbedienungskonzept").

For a wedding couple, self-service does not mean the florists are always there. The contact page separates this from appointments: for appointments the team is reachable by phone, e-mail, WhatsApp or the contact form, and it lists availability on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 18:00, and on Saturday from 9:00 to 15:00. No times are given for Wednesday or Sunday. A wedding consultation should therefore be booked in advance rather than attempted as a drop-in.

Contact and getting there

Blumissimo GmbH, Ed. Huberstrasse 9, 6022 Grosswangen. Phone and WhatsApp +41 77 512 85 07, e-mail info@blumissimo.ch, plus a contact form. The page titles name Grosswangen, Buttisholz and Lucerne as the shop's area. The contact page links to an online route planner rather than describing the journey, and the site says nothing about public transport or parking.

The site also lists a delivery service ("Lieferdienst"), a flower subscription ("Blumenabo"), funeral flowers, gifts and accessories, cut flowers and plants, and seasonal workshops, such as one called "goldenes Herbstleuchten". The site gives no details of the delivery area or of delivery charges, which matters if the venue is some way from Grosswangen.

What the site does not settle

The whole website is in German and it does not say whether the team works in English. A couple who do not speak German should ask at the first contact, ideally in writing, whether the consultation can be held in English.

There are no wedding prices, packages or minimum orders on the site, no stated lead time for booking a date, and nothing on deposits or cancellation. It does not say how far the team travels to decorate a church or venue, or whether it sets up on the wedding day and clears the flowers afterward. Since the consultation takes place in the shop in Grosswangen, a couple living abroad should also ask whether it can be done by video call.

Who it suits

Blumissimo suits couples marrying in the Lucerne countryside who want a young, personal team, a mood-board process and flowers that follow the season. The wedding list is detailed enough to cover a full church or free ceremony, from the bridal bouquet to car decoration and flower arches.

It is less suited to a couple who need a fixed price before the first meeting, or who want a florist that states it works in English. The shop has run since 2019 and is changing its concept, so couples planning well ahead should confirm how weddings will be handled under the new setup.
