Bomdia Design
Tap a star to rate
Bomdia Design is the wedding floristry business of Vanessa Reot, who presents herself as a wedding florist in Lausanne ("Fleuriste de mariage à Lausanne"). She set it up in 2019 after years in the flower trade, and offers two ways to work with her: a full design service starting at 1800 euros and a cheaper à la carte service starting at 500 euros. Her services page also carries a price guide per item, which makes budgeting from abroad easier, provided you are comfortable with a French-language website.
Vanessa Reot
The About page tells her story in the first person. Flowers and plants have fascinated her since childhood, and she says she has spent her whole working life in the plant world. Over the years she gained experience working "avec certaines des plus prestigieuses entreprises du secteur", with some of the most prestigious companies in the sector, collaborating with talented designers and taking part in large events. "En 2019", she writes, she took the bold decision to start her own business, to work in the best conditions and live by her own values.
Her stated values are three: building a real connection with the couple, accompanying them through every detail from first planning to the finished work, and creating floral decor that the couple and their guests remember. The page names none of the firms she worked for.
The full design service
The complete design service ("Service de design complet") covers weddings, special celebrations and corporate events. She designs and sets up the arrangements for every part of the event, from bridal and bridesmaid bouquets to the flower installations on the reception tables. The page describes 5 steps:
- Personal consultation: time to understand the couple's vision, ideas, favorite colors and personal style.
- Creative concept: a bespoke floral concept in which bouquets, table centerpieces, arches and other installations are designed to match the look of the event.
- Flower selection: she chooses refined varieties and works with suppliers she trusts.
- Installation: she installs all the floral elements herself.
- Personal follow-up on the day: she likes to reuse arrangements, for example moving ceremony decorations into the reception room for the cocktail hour, and stays available through the day for last-minute adjustments.
The page gives the price of the full service as starting from 1800 euros.
The à la carte service
The à la carte option ("Florals à la carte") is described as a more affordable choice with predefined options. Couples choose from set styles, color palettes and arrangement sizes, which keeps the process simple. Delivery and installation are handled for you, or you can collect the flowers from the workshop. You can start on a basic budget and add extras later. It starts "à partir de 500 €" on request for a quote, and the page notes that the designs are limited to the options offered; anyone wanting more personalization is pointed to the full service.
The price guide
The services page publishes average prices per arrangement, with the note that final prices depend on the final designs:
- Bridal party: bridal bouquet 120 euros, bridesmaid bouquet 60 euros, buttonhole 12 euros, flower bracelet 35 euros, hair pick 5 euros, flower crown 62 euros.
- Ceremony: flowered aisle 120 euros, arch or arbor 1,500 euros, garland 180 euros per meter.
- Reception: centerpiece 90 euros, cocktail arrangement 50 euros, table plan display 180 euros, hanging installation 280 euros.
These prices exclude delivery and installation, which are charged according to the logistics and location of the event, and the page says prices can change without notice. For a couple from abroad this is the most useful part of the site: it lets you build a rough budget before the first call. Note that the prices are in euros, not Swiss francs.
Extras and how she works
Every bouquet and arrangement is finished with artisan silk ribbons. She rents out unique vases and ceramics, so the couple does not have to source containers. She also makes floral accessories: combs with fresh, dried or stabilized flowers, flower crowns, bracelets and even flower earrings. For something entirely custom, a flowered bag, a parasol or floral gloves, she offers to design a one-off piece. The page promises clear communication, with inclusions detailed and exclusions and extra charges stated openly.
Booking process
The booking steps are set out in full:
- You fill in a questionnaire sent by e-mail to book a consultation and say which service you want.
- A first consultation, available in person in the region or by phone and video call. For a couple abroad, the video option matters.
- You send inspiration images, for example Pinterest boards, and together you refine them into a list of floral options that works with the season.
- She sends a personalized proposal with a detailed quote, which can be revised.
- A deposit of 40 percent secures the date.
- 8 to 10 weeks before the wedding she gets back in touch to confirm choices, quantities and logistics; the final balance is due 10 days before the day of installation.
Portfolio
The portfolio piece "Embark with me" credits a model as the bride, so it reads as a styled shoot rather than a client wedding: a boat decorated with pastel flowers on a lake, with the Alps behind and a model couple. It credits a wedding designer, a photographer, a videographer, a dress designer and other suppliers alongside Bomdia Design as floral designer. The page does not name the lake. It shows her style and that she works alongside other wedding suppliers, but it is not evidence of a particular venue.
What the site does not settle
The website is in French, with a few English headings. It does not say whether she works in English, so a couple who do not speak French should ask in their first message. The site gives no street address for the workshop, no delivery area and no fixed delivery charges, and it does not say how far she will travel to install. There is no statement on cancellation terms beyond the deposit and balance dates.
Who it suits
Bomdia Design suits couples marrying around Lausanne who want a single designer to take the flowers from concept to installation, and who value a clear process with published prices. The à la carte route, from 500 euros, makes it accessible to smaller weddings too. The main caveats for couples from abroad are the French-only site, the euro pricing and delivery costs that are only set once the venue is known.
