A small florist studio in Brig

einzigARTig, registered as Vera Ritler GmbH, is a florist studio at Belalpstrasse 4, 3900 Brig, in the Upper Valais. Its own offerings page lists wedding flowers (Hochzeitsblumen) as a service in their own right, next to flowers for pickup or delivery, flower subscriptions and arrangements for confirmations, first communions and christenings. The owner, Vera Ritler, is a trained florist, and the contact page is written in her own first person, so enquiries go to her directly.

The name is a play on the German word einzigartig, meaning unique, with "ART" set in capitals. The offerings page explains the idea in one short passage: "Jede Blume & jede Gestaltung ist einzigARTig" (every flower and every design is unique), and it goes on to say that each bloom has its own character and its own way of opening, just like people. That is the whole of the studio's stated philosophy, and it fits a business that makes things to order rather than selling from a catalog.

The site is split into two halves, one for private customers (Privatkunden) and one for business customers (Geschäftskunden). Weddings sit on the private side, alongside a blog, a photo album, a workshop page and a team page. The business side covers decorations, team events, client gifts and company events.

Who does the work

The team page names four people. Vera is the owner and a florist with the EFZ, the Swiss federal vocational certificate. Sabine is also a florist EFZ. Dshamilja is an apprentice florist working toward her EFZ. Gabi is listed as the "gute Seele / Aushilfe", the good soul of the shop and its part-time helper.

Vera tells her own story on the same page. From 2010 to 2013 she trained at Fleurs Denise in Susten under Franziska and Alfreda, and she calls those "Drei sehr spannende Lehrjahre" (three very exciting years of apprenticeship) that shaped her. After qualifying she worked outside floristry for a while: in sales and service at a small bakery, in a bar job with long weekends, and in customer service. She describes going independent not as a lifelong dream but as a twist of fate. While still in customer service she missed the creative work she had trained for, took it up first on the side, then part time, and finally decided to concentrate entirely on what makes her happy, being a florist.

For a couple this matters in a practical way. A four-person shop with an owner who trained locally and runs the studio herself is a different booking from a large event-floristry company. The upside is direct contact with the person making the flowers. The trade-off is limited capacity on busy weekends, which the studio itself hints at (see opening hours below).

The wedding offer

Here the site is brief. Wedding flowers appear as a named heading on the offerings page and in the navigation, but there is no dedicated text describing what a wedding order includes. The site publishes no wedding packages, no list of typical items (bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, table arrangements, ceremony decoration), no prices and no example budgets. It does have a photo album page, which is the place to judge the studio's style before getting in touch.

What the site does say is useful around the edges. Flowers can be collected from the shop (Blumen zum Abholen) or delivered (Blumen zum Ausliefern). The business side offers decorations (Dekorationen) for companies, and the company-events page makes the point that table flowers are not a side dish at a dinner: "Das Auge isst schliesslich mit, oder?" (after all, the eye eats too, doesn't it?). The site does not say whether the same decoration service is available for private weddings, so that is a question for the first message.

The workshop program is the most wedding-relevant detail after the heading itself. The team-event page lists four workshops: binding fresh bouquets (Frischblumensträusse binden), a floral hoop workshop, binding a hair wreath (Haarkranz binden), and an individual workshop on a theme of the group's choosing. It is written for company teams, but a hair-wreath or bouquet session is an obvious fit for a bridal party or a pre-wedding get-together. The page offers a free, non-binding quote (unverbindliche Offerte) for team events; whether the same applies to a private group is not stated.

Opening hours, contact and booking

The shop is open Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, and on Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00. The site adds an important note: during events it may close on individual Saturdays and Friday afternoons, and it asks customers to check the current hours on Google. For a couple visiting Brig for a single consultation, that is a reason to arrange a time in advance rather than dropping in.

The contact details on the site are the phone number +41 79 731 49 62 and the address floristik@einzigartig-veraritler.com. The contact page says the easiest route is the contact form, and it closes with a friendly line saying she looks forward to hearing from you. The site links to an Instagram account (einzigartig_vr) and a Facebook page, both worth a look alongside the photo album.

What the site leaves open for a couple from abroad

The site is written entirely in German, with many headings in the Upper Valais dialect ("iischers Ahgebot" for our offer, "Wo dü mich gfinsch" for where you'll find me). There is no English version and no mention of which languages the team speaks. A couple writing from abroad should write simply and ask directly whether an English conversation is possible.

The site does not publish:

  • prices for wedding flowers or any minimum order;
  • a delivery area or delivery charges;
  • whether the team sets up flowers at a ceremony or reception venue, or only delivers;
  • how far ahead a wedding should be booked;
  • how a deposit or payment works for a couple not living in Switzerland.

Nor does it say how to reach the shop by public transport or whether there is parking; the site gives the street address and a location section on the contact page ("Wo dü mich gfinsch").

Who it suits

einzigARTig suits a couple marrying in or around Brig who want a small local florist, personal contact with the owner and arrangements made to order rather than chosen from a price list. The hair-wreath and bouquet workshops add something beyond the flowers themselves, and they could double as an activity for guests arriving a day early.

It suits less well a couple who need everything settled in writing from abroad before they ever speak to anyone, since almost nothing about the wedding service is published, or a large wedding that needs a sizeable installation team. Neither is ruled out by the site, but both mean an early conversation to establish capacity, language and cost before relying on the studio.
