A florist's shop in Cugy, on the edge of Lausanne

Fleurisa is a floral workshop and shop at Chemin du Moulin 1, 1053 Cugy, which its homepage places "en périphérie de Lausanne", on the outskirts of Lausanne in the canton of Vaud. It was founded in 2016, and the homepage banner currently marks the anniversary: "Fleurisa fête ses 10 ans !", ten years of passion and flowers.

The site is written in the first person by the owner, who describes herself as a florist with a CFC diploma ("Titulaire d'un diplôme CFC fleuriste", the Swiss federal vocational certificate) and a specialist in decoration for several years before she opened her own shop. Weddings sit alongside birthdays, christenings, mourning flowers and grave care in the site's events menu, and the site has a separate service for renting decorative accessories, which is the most wedding-relevant detail after the flowers themselves.

What the shop sells

The homepage is long and gives a clear picture of the business. The shop sells:

  • cut flowers, roses, bouquets and arrangements;
  • dried and stabilized flowers;
  • indoor plants (flowering and green plants, and planted bowls, or terrines), outdoor seasonal and annual plants, and fruit and vegetable plants;
  • pots and cachepots;
  • a gift shop and a small range of natural cosmetics with floral scents.

The owner puts weight on quality and on Swiss-grown stock. The homepage mentions a well-stocked garden range and "des plantes extérieures 100% Suisses" (outdoor plants that are 100% Swiss). It also offers a made-to-measure flower subscription for homes and offices, and floral workshops for adults and children, including birthday workshops.

The owner in her own words

The homepage reads like a letter from the owner rather than a brochure. She says she opened her own shop to share her love of the beautiful things nature offers, and that she is glad to put her know-how and creativity at her customers' disposal. "Pour moi, les fleurs sont des messagères incontournables" (for me, flowers are essential messengers), she writes, present in happy and sad moments alike to express what people feel. She lists the occasions she helps prepare for: birthdays, Mother's Day, the weddings of family and friends, and leaving parties at work. She mentions kalanchoes and orchids among the plants she stocks for homes and offices, and the "Plantons" garden range. The tone is personal and local throughout.

Weddings and the accessory rental

The site does not have a detailed wedding brochure. What it says about weddings is spread across the homepage. The owner writes that she accompanies customers on every occasion "et selon votre budget" (and according to your budget), and that for occasions such as "les mariages de vos proches" (the weddings of your loved ones) she helps people plan by letting them order their floral creation in advance in Cugy. The events section describes providing authentic floral compositions for joyful events such as weddings and birthdays as well as for mourning.

The accessory rental is described in one line: "des trésors vintage pour sublimer chaque événement, de l'élégant vase au charme d'une brouette d'antan". In English: vintage pieces to set off any event, from an elegant vase to an old-fashioned wheelbarrow. For a couple holding a reception in a barn, a garden or a plain hall, being able to rent vases and vintage props from the same person who does the flowers saves a separate supplier. The site does not list the items available or their prices.

The homepage also names a partner caterer: "Besoin d'un traiteur contactez notre partenaire caquelon en fête" (need a caterer? contact our partner caquelon en fête). That is a recommendation, not a service Fleurisa provides itself.

Delivery and availability

The owner promises "un service de livraison ultra rapide" with special packaging to protect orders, and says she works with competent delivery drivers for flowers, bouquets, plants and plant decorations. The site describes the shop as close to Ecublens and to Le Mont-sur-Lausanne, but it does not set out a delivery zone or delivery charges; the menu has a separate delivery page.

The homepage and the contact block both say "Disponible 7j/7 et 24h/24", available seven days a week, around the clock. The site gives no separate opening hours for the shop, so a couple planning a visit should arrange a time by phone or e-mail rather than assuming the shop is staffed at all hours.

Workshops

The owner runs floral composition courses in the Cugy workshop, which she describes as explaining the professional techniques florists use for event decoration and floral design, in a warm, friendly setting. For a wedding, a workshop could suit a bridal party or a group of guests who arrive early and want something to do together. The site does not publish workshop dates or prices.

Contact

The contact details on the site are:

  • Chemin du Moulin 1, 1053 Cugy;
  • phone 079.308.00.49;
  • e-mail contact@fleurisa.ch.

The site links to Facebook and Instagram, has a gallery page and offers a virtual tour ("Visite virtuelle") of the shop, which lets a couple planning from abroad see the space and the style of work before getting in touch.

What the site leaves open

The site is in French only and does not say whether the owner works in English or German. It also does not publish:

  • prices for bridal bouquets, ceremony flowers or table decoration;
  • a list of the accessories available to rent, or rental prices;
  • how far ahead to book wedding flowers;
  • whether she installs flowers at the venue on the day or delivers only;
  • how far beyond the Lausanne area she will deliver.

The "Abonnement/Tarif" heading on the homepage covers the flower subscription, not weddings. A couple writing from abroad should state the date, the venue and the pieces needed, ask for a quote, and ask which language suits.

Who it suits

Fleurisa suits a couple marrying in or around Lausanne, especially at a venue near Cugy, Le Mont-sur-Lausanne or Ecublens, who want a single qualified florist to handle the flowers and supply vintage props, and who value her stated flexibility on budget. The virtual tour and gallery help from a distance.

It suits less well a couple who want a published wedding package or a large team for a big installation; the site is written entirely in the owner's own voice and says nothing about team size. Both points are worth raising in the first conversation.
