A plastic-free floral studio for the Lugano area
Floral Creations is a floral design business in Ticino that also signs its work as Floral Lugano. Its registered address on the site is Via Brüsighell 8, 6807 Taverne, and it presents itself as "fiorista a Lugano", a florist in Lugano, working for weddings, private parties and corporate events in Lugano and the surrounding area ("Lugano e dintorni"). The homepage opening line sets out its pitch: "L'arte floreale incontra la sostenibilità d'alta gamma nel cuore del Ticino" (floral art meets high-end sustainability in the heart of Ticino).
What sets it apart on paper is a firm environmental rule. The homepage says the studio uses only fresh, seasonal flowers, bans plastic completely and chooses only sustainable packaging, and it sums this up as "Per un lusso etico, che lascia il segno senza lasciare traccia" (for an ethical luxury that leaves a mark without leaving a trace). For a couple who want wedding flowers without plastic supports or wrapping, that is a stated policy, not a vague aspiration.
Three design principles
The site organizes its approach under three headings.
Stagionalità (seasonality). "Il ritmo della natura in ogni petalo", the rhythm of nature in every petal. The studio says it selects only botanical varieties at their peak, and it describes the year in terms of what the season brings: "Dalle fioriture timide e profumate della primavera fino alle sfumature calde e materiche dell'autunno, lasciamo che sia la natura a dettare le regole del nostro design" (from the shy, fragrant blooms of spring to the warm, textured shades of autumn, we let nature set the rules of our design). In practice, a couple should expect the palette to follow the wedding month rather than a fixed list of varieties.
Naturalità (naturalness). "L'eleganza autentica dello stile organico", the authentic elegance of the organic style. The studio says it follows the flower's original form without forcing it, favoring asymmetric lines, the light movement of the stem and the imperfect beauty of each plant, and bringing the feel of Swiss meadows and woods into the space.
Tendenza (trend). "Visioni contemporanee e scenografie uniche", contemporary visions and unique settings. The studio says it experiments with bold color combinations, unusual textures and avant-garde structures, and names the two ends of its range: "un matrimonio intimo sulle rive del lago o di un grande evento aziendale a Lugano", an intimate wedding on the lakeshore or a large corporate event in Lugano.
Under a separate heading, "Intelligenza Artigianale" (craft intelligence), the site adds "Non esistono repliche, non esistono scorciatoie" (there are no replicas and no shortcuts): each stem is chosen for its individuality, and supports and packaging are ecological.
How the studio approaches a wedding
The site's journal carries four short articles, and one is about weddings: "Quando un matrimonio prende forma: il racconto dietro ogni allestimento" (when a wedding takes shape, the story behind each setup). It opens with the line "Ogni matrimonio racconta una storia. Il nostro compito è trasformarla in fiori." (every wedding tells a story; our job is to turn it into flowers). It says each project starts from a direct conversation with the couple, their wishes and emotions, because no two couples are the same, and that the process is one of listening, research and creativity.
The other journal entries show the same method on smaller events. One describes a private party built around the person being celebrated, with the example of a girl's eighteenth birthday. Another covers corporate events, where the flowers are meant to carry the company's identity. A third, on baptisms, communions and family anniversaries, says these smaller ceremonies get the same care as large weddings and mentions clients who come back to the studio. For a couple, that last point is a modest but real sign of repeat custom.
The homepage also invites visitors to browse the gallery of recent seasonal work, under the "Creations" menu item. The creations section describes each composition as a one-off, conceived to fit the setting it is made for, and says the studio rejects mass production in favor of exclusivity, whether the piece is a minimal detail or a statement element. For a couple, that means the design will be drawn up for their venue rather than picked from a catalog, which also explains why the site shows no product list.
Contact
The contact section begins "Ogni grande progetto inizia con un ascolto attento" (every great project begins with careful listening) and addresses couples planning their wedding, companies and private hosts in Lugano and the area. It offers a contact form. The site lists no phone number and no e-mail address, so the form is the way in. The footer gives the company name, the Taverne address and a VAT number.
What the site leaves open
The content is in Italian, with a few English menu labels ("About Us", "Creations", "Journal"). The site does not say whether the team works in English, German or French, and a couple from abroad should ask in the first message. It also does not publish:
- any prices, packages or minimum spend;
- how far ahead a wedding should be booked;
- whether the studio installs at the venue on the day and removes the flowers afterward;
- how far beyond Lugano it travels;
- the names or number of people on the team, or when the business was founded;
- a phone number or e-mail address.
The plastic-free rule is also worth discussing early. It rules out plastic supports, which affects how large installations such as arches or hanging pieces are built. The site says this is no limit on creativity, calling it "il motore di una nuova estetica" (the engine of a new aesthetic), but a couple with a specific design in mind should check how it will be done.
Who it suits
Floral Creations suits a couple marrying around Lugano who care about sustainability, like loose, asymmetric, seasonal arrangements more than tight, uniform ones, and are happy to let the season decide much of the palette. The written commitment to no plastic and sustainable packaging is explicit.
It suits less well a couple who want a price list before the first conversation, a phone call before filling in a form, or a very specific flower out of season. None of these is ruled out, but all mean a conversation through the contact form first.
