A grower-florist above Lake Zug

Floralisa is a flower nursery and shop in Oberwil bei Zug, run by Elisabeth (Lisa) Binkert. What makes it different from a town florist is written on the homepage: "In meiner Gärtnerei in Oberwil bei Zug, wunderschön über dem Zugersee gelegen, kultiviere ich Schnittblumen für meine jahreszeitlich inspirierten Kreationen" (in my nursery in Oberwil bei Zug, beautifully set above the Zugersee, I grow cut flowers for my seasonally inspired creations). The flowers in a Floralisa bouquet are, at least in part, grown on site.

The homepage greets visitors with "Herzlich willkommen in meinem Garten" (welcome to my garden) and a short personal note: she has loved working with plants and nature for as long as she can remember. The page is signed "Ihre Lisa Binkert", and the footer names the business as FLORALISA, owner Elisabeth Binkert. This is a personal business, and the site reads that way throughout.

Weddings sit under "Festliche Anlässe" (festive occasions) alongside birthdays, christenings and company events. The rest of the range covers bouquets, flower subscriptions, wreaths, funeral floristry, decoration, gift vouchers and workshops. The site's own summary lists bouquets made with its own cut flowers, flower subscriptions, wreaths from natural materials, seasonal flowers, floristry for weddings, funerals and first communions, floristry workshops and flower delivery. A couple who like her work on the day can keep the connection afterward through a subscription or a seasonal wreath.

The wedding offer

The festive-occasions page opens with a line about event floristry and names the occasions: "Ob Geburtstag, Hochzeit, Taufe oder Firmenanlass" (whether a birthday, wedding, christening or company event), promising to turn the event into a celebration in bloom.

The wedding part is headed "Unser Angebot für Ihren schönsten Tag" (our offer for your most beautiful day). It sets out a clear aim: the flowers should suit the couple, the place, the season and the mood of the celebration. It then names the range: "Vom Brautstrauss über den Kirchenschmuck bis zur Tischdekoration" (from the bridal bouquet to the church flowers and the table decoration), each piece made with care and attention to detail.

The process is described in two steps. First, a personal conversation in which she takes time to hear the couple's wishes and advise them fully. Second, a carefully worked-out quote ("eine sorgfältig ausgearbeitete Offerte") matched to the scale of the celebration and the couple's wishes. There are no fixed wedding packages and no prices on the site; every wedding is quoted individually.

Seasonal flowers from her own beds

The bouquets page describes the style: "Unsere Sträusse fangen die reiche Fülle und die leuchtenden Farben der Jahreszeiten ein, üppig und lebendig, bereichert durch Blüten aus unserer eigenen Gärtnerei" (our bouquets hold the rich abundance and bright colors of the seasons, lush and lively, enriched by blooms from our own nursery). The site's description adds that the shop makes bouquets with its own cut flowers, wreaths from natural materials and seasonal flowers.

For a couple this has two sides. A bouquet grown partly in the florist's own garden will reflect what is flowering in that month, which suits a couple who want a local, seasonal look. A couple set on a particular variety should ask early whether it can be grown or bought in for their date.

Shop, self-service and delivery

The contact page gives the practical details. The shop is open Thursday and Friday from 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00, or by arrangement ("oder nach Absprache"). There is also self-service in the nursery ("Selbstbedienung in der Gärtnerei") from Monday to Sunday. Orders are taken by phone or e-mail, and delivery is arranged by agreement ("Die Lieferung erfolgt nach Absprache"). Payment is in cash or by Twint, including at the self-service till.

The shop and nursery are reached via Klinik Zugersee, Mülimattweg 30, 6317 Oberwil. The site gives a separate postal address, Bellevueweg 2, 6300 Zug, and warns ("Achtung") that there is no sale and there are no workshops at that address. A couple visiting for a consultation should head to the Mülimattweg address.

The limited shop days matter for anyone arriving from abroad. A visit to see the flowers or talk through a wedding is easiest on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, or at a time agreed in advance.

Workshops

The homepage says she offers workshops for individual flower decorations, and workshops have their own section in the menu. For a wedding party, a workshop in a nursery above the lake could be a way to spend an afternoon before the day; the site does not list dates or prices for them, so it is a question for the first message.

Contact

The contact details on the site are Lisa Binkert, mobile 079 327 24 93, with a link to write an e-mail ("Schreiben Sie mir eine Mail!"). The phone number also appears at the top of every page, and the homepage simply says "Rufen Sie mich an!" (call me!).

What the site leaves open

The site is in German only and does not say whether she works in English. It also does not publish:

  • prices for bridal bouquets, church flowers or table decoration;
  • how far ahead to book a wedding;
  • whether she sets up the flowers at the church or venue on the day, or delivers only;
  • how far she delivers, and at what cost;
  • holiday closures.

A couple writing from abroad should give the date, the church or venue, the pieces wanted and a budget, and ask about language and delivery in the same message.

Who it suits

Floralisa suits a couple marrying around Zug who want seasonal flowers grown partly by the florist herself, a direct conversation with the person who grows and arranges them, and a quote shaped around their own event. The range from bridal bouquet to church flowers and table decoration covers what most weddings need.

It suits less well a couple who want published prices or packages, who need several meetings on a Monday to Wednesday, or who need confirmation of English-language service before they get in touch. Each of those can be raised by phone or e-mail, but none is answered on the site.
