L'Atelier des Fleurs

L'Atelier des Fleurs is a flower shop at Route du Centre 36 in Corminboeuf, near Fribourg, run by a florist who signs the site as Séverine. It sells fresh flowers, plants, dried flowers and her own illustrated cards, and it has a wedding page offering bridal bouquets and floral decoration for the ceremony and the reception. For a couple marrying around Fribourg who can work in French, it is a personal, one-florist option with a clear seasonal approach.

Séverine and the shop

The "À mon sujet" section tells the story briefly. When she began her apprenticeship in 2011, Séverine writes, she already had in mind that she would one day open her own flower shop in Corminboeuf. She then gained experience in several businesses, both in flower shops and in a company specializing in events, and says she always knew that being a florist was more than her job: "j'ai toujours su que fleuriste était plus que mon métier, mais bien ma passion" (I always knew floristry was more than my job, it was my passion).

She describes a particular sensitivity to shades and color mixes ("une sensibilité particulière aux nuances et aux mélanges de couleurs"), and says each flower and each composition expresses different emotions. Drawing and hand lettering are her hobbies, and she has turned them into series of greeting cards and frames combining flowers and drawings, sold in the shop as "Les cartes de Sev". The shop also carries gift ideas made with other artisans, such as candles, soaps and textile pieces.

The wedding offer

The wedding page opens with a principle: "Partons du principe que tout est réalisable !" (let's start from the principle that everything is possible). She then points to her background: through her experience "dans le monde de l'Event en Italie", in the world of events in Italy, she can advise and guide couples in their flower choices to decorate the reception room and the ceremony venues.

Two ways of working are described. A couple can choose bouquets and arrangements from her catalog, or she will advise and assist them in composing flowers to their own wishes and preferences. Together, the page says, they put in place a floral decoration built on fresh, seasonal flowers. The page describes her as a wedding florist in Corminboeuf who handles wedding flowers in Villars-sur-Glâne and wedding floral decoration "dans les moindres détails" (down to the smallest details).

The first step is an appointment. The page invites couples to get in touch to fix a meeting, and closes with the phone number 026 565 55 75 for anyone who wants her services on the wedding day.

Flowers through the seasons

The wedding page is unusually specific about seasons. It notes that most weddings take place in summer and suggests summer flowers for them: sunflowers, white and red roses, English roses, lavender, olive, hydrangea and arum lilies. For couples marrying in the middle of winter, it says there is no need to worry, as she has a wide selection of winter flowers and bouquets. Spring and autumn weddings are covered too; the page says her services are available in every season, always with seasonal flowers.

The homepage adds that the shop stocks fresh flowers of all colors and kinds, naming roses, hydrangeas, peonies, orchids and tulips, used to make compositions that follow the course of the seasons.

The summer closure

This is the point a couple must check first. The homepage carries a notice: "Le magasin est fermé pour la périodes des vacances et des mariages et réouvre ses portes le jeudi 3 septembre." The shop closes for the holiday and wedding period and reopens on Thursday 3 September. A second line says deliveries will be possible again from Monday 17 August. The notice is signed by Séverine.

The notice names the wedding period as one reason for the closure, but it does not say whether weddings are still served during those weeks, so a couple marrying in the weeks before 3 September should ask directly whether their date can be served and how to reach her while the shop is closed.

Hours, contact and delivery

Published opening hours: Thursday and Friday 8h00 to 12h00 and 13h30 to 18h30, Saturday 8h00 to 12h00 and 13h00 to 16h00, Sunday 10h00 to 12h00. The shop is closed from Monday to Wednesday.

Contact is by email to info@atelierdesfleurs.ch, by phone on 026 565 55 75, and the site also links to Instagram and WhatsApp. The shop offers delivery ("un service de livraison de fleurs rapide et efficace", a fast and efficient flower delivery service) to an address of the customer's choice, as well as click and collect. The menu also lists workshops ("Ateliers").

What the site does not settle

  • Prices. No wedding prices, catalog prices or minimum order are given on the site.
  • What a wedding order includes. The page speaks of bouquets and decoration for ceremony and reception, but does not list items such as buttonholes, table flowers or arches, or whether installation and removal are included.
  • Delivery area for weddings. The delivery service is described in general terms; its area and cost for a wedding venue are not stated.
  • Lead time and terms. No booking deadline, deposit or cancellation terms are published.
  • Languages. The site is in French only. The event experience in Italy is stated, but the site does not say which languages she works in with clients, so couples who do not speak French should ask about English or Italian at the outset.
  • Portfolio. The pages show no captioned gallery of past weddings.

Who it suits

L'Atelier des Fleurs suits a couple marrying around Fribourg, Corminboeuf or Villars-sur-Glâne who want to work directly with one florist, like the idea of flowers chosen by season, and would value someone with event experience advising on how to dress a ceremony venue and a reception room. The option of choosing from her catalog or composing something personal gives flexibility for different budgets and tastes.

The caveats are the French-only site, the absence of prices, the short opening week, and above all the summer closure, which falls in the months when most weddings happen. None of these rules the shop out, but they make an early phone call or email the essential first step, especially for a summer date.
