Plankis Stiftung
Tap a star to rate
The floristry workshop of the Plankis Stiftung in Chur makes bouquets, room decorations, wedding arrangements and funeral flowers to order, and during the spring, summer and autumn season a large share of its cut flowers comes from the foundation's own nursery. Plankis is a foundation that runs workplaces, housing and training in Chur, and the flower studio is one of its workshops, with its own team lead, phone line and opening hours.
What the floristry workshop offers
The floristry page lists the work plainly: "Gerne gestalten wir auf Ihren Wunsch Blumensträusse, Raumdekorationen, Hochzeitsgestecke, Arrangements und Trauerfloristik." In English, the team is glad to make bouquets, room decorations, wedding arrangements, arrangements in general and funeral floristry on request. Hochzeitsgestecke, wedding arrangements, is the term that places weddings squarely inside the offer, and room decoration covers the kind of work a reception space needs.
The page heads the section with "Aus Freude am Kreativen und der Natur", out of joy in creativity and nature, and says the staff set out, with a great deal of energy, commitment and love, to surprise customers again and again with new ideas. It does not show a gallery of past weddings, describe a style, or name venues it has worked for.
Flowers from its own nursery
The most distinctive fact on the page is where the flowers come from. "Während der Frühlings – Sommer – und Herbstsaison stammt ein grosser Teil der Schnittblumen frisch aus unserer Gärtnerei." During the spring, summer and autumn season, a large part of the cut flowers comes fresh from the foundation's own nursery. The motto that follows is "SAISONAL – REGIONAL", seasonal and regional, and the page repeats it as a quotation further down.
The nursery (Gärtnerei) appears as a separate workshop in the foundation's menu, next to garden maintenance, a bakery, a shop, food production and two restaurants, Circolo and Evviva. For a couple, the practical point is simple: a wedding between spring and autumn can carry flowers grown in the foundation's own nursery, and what is in the garden that month will shape the palette. The page does not say where flowers come from outside that season.
Who you deal with, and how
The contact person for floristry is Mirjam Fetz, listed as Gruppenleiterin Floristik (group lead, floristry) on the team page. The floristry workshop has its own address, Emserstrasse 40, 7000 Chur, its own phone number, 081 255 13 62, and its own email, floristik@plankis.ch. Its opening hours are Monday to Friday, 08.00 to 12.00 and 13.30 to 17.00. The foundation's main office is at Emserstrasse 44, with the general number 081 255 13 00 and a separate order line, 081 255 13 60, in the footer of every page.
Consultation is in person. "Wir beraten Sie gerne bei einem persönlichen Gespräch. Vereinbaren Sie mit uns einen Termin." The team is happy to advise in a personal meeting and asks customers to make an appointment. Delivery is offered as a matter of course: "Selbstverständlich liefern wir von Montag – Freitag, jeweils morgens direkt ins Haus", deliveries from Monday to Friday, always in the morning, directly to the door.
Getting there
The foundation's contact page gives directions. By public transport, bus lines 10, 11 and 12 run from Chur to the stop "Chur, Plankis", with timetables linked in the direction of Felsberg, Domat/Ems and Tamins and back toward Chur Bahnhofsplatz. By car, the page says to leave the A13 motorway at Chur-Süd, take the roundabout toward Chur Stadt, turn right at the traffic light toward Domat/Ems and Felsberg, and find the foundation on the right after 500 meters. A Google Street View link sits on the same page.
Training and the people in the workshop
Plankis trains people. The career page lists training places for 2027, among them Praktiker:in PrA Floristik, a practical floristry qualification, alongside places in the nursery, garden maintenance and the restaurant. The same page congratulates graduates by name, including a Praktikerin Floristik PrA nach INSOS and another PrA Floristik graduate. Ordering flowers here therefore supports the foundation's training and work program, which is part of what a couple is choosing.
The floristry team is not the only Plankis workshop that makes things by hand. The Werkatelier page, a separate textile and craft workshop at the same Emserstrasse 40 address, lists crocheting, sewing, home textiles, punching and "Kunstvolle Karten" (artful cards), and points to an online shop for its pieces. The site does not connect it to weddings, so whether it could supply cards or small handmade items for a wedding is a question to put to its own contact rather than to the florists.
What the site leaves open
The site publishes no prices for wedding flowers and no package describing what a wedding order includes, such as a bridal bouquet, boutonnieres, table arrangements or ceremony decoration. It gives no lead time and no minimum order. Delivery is stated for weekday mornings, and nothing is said about Saturday, which is when many weddings take place, or about setting up flowers at a venue; a couple marrying on a weekend should raise that first. The delivery area is not defined either.
The site is entirely in German and says nothing about English or other languages. With a consultation that is meant to happen in person in Chur, a couple living abroad should write to floristik@plankis.ch first, ask which language the team can work in, and ask whether a first conversation can happen by phone or email.
Who it suits
The Plankis floristry workshop suits couples marrying in or near Chur who like the idea of seasonal, regionally grown flowers and who are glad that their order supports a foundation's training and work program. A late spring, summer or early autumn date makes the most of the nursery, which is the page's main promise.
It suits less well a couple who needs a fully specified quote from abroad before committing, a Saturday setup at a distant venue, or an out-of-season specific bloom. The weekday opening hours and weekday morning deliveries are the real limits to plan around, and the German-only site means the first message should be clear and simple. For couples in Graubünden with some flexibility, it is an honest, local choice with a clear idea behind it.
