Silberknospe
Tap a star to rate
Silberknospe is the floristry business of Monika Stäheli, a trained florist working from her own flower workshop at Weidackerstrasse 10 in Ettenhausen, and wedding floristry is what she calls her main and favorite work. Her homepage leads with it: bridal bouquets, table decorations and floral designs for wedding ceremonies, followed by workshops and funeral floristry.
Who she is
The about section is short and personal. Monika Stäheli writes that her profession is one of her passions, and that when she started her family she founded, at the same time, her own small business for commission floristry ("Auftragsfloristik"), meaning flowers made to order rather than a walk-in shop. "Meine Haupt- und Lieblingsarbeit ist die Hochzeitsfloristik", her main and favorite work is wedding floristry, and in her flower workshop she designs flower pieces for couples' weddings "als ausgebildete Floristin mit grosser Freude", as a trained florist, with great pleasure.
Her other favorite pieces are wreaths, flower hearts and church decorations for funerals, and floral workshops, and on the side she designs table decorations for baptisms and birthdays. She works alone as far as the site shows: no team is named.
The wedding offer
The top of the homepage sums up the wedding work in one line: "Brautsträusse Tischdekorationen Blumen-Designs für Trauungen", bridal bouquets, table decorations and flower designs for wedding ceremonies. Beneath it she describes her floristry as individual and stylish, made with a great deal of passion and love of detail for a couple's personal occasion.
The wedding block asks couples whether they dream of a wedding with enchanting floral decoration, and says that with her carefully designed floral pieces she creates feelings and lasting memories. The homepage then shows a gallery of wedding images. The captions name a wedding at Hof Gertau (credited to the photographer Boundlesssights) and church decorations, and one caption lists a string of regions (Thurgau, Zürich, St.Gallen, Schaffhausen, Appenzell, Aargau, Luzern) next to the word Schweiz; that reads as keywords rather than a stated service area, and the site does not say how far she travels.
What her clients say
The homepage carries a set of customer comments, which say more about how she works than the service text does. Felice Bosco writes that working with her on a wedding decoration was very worthwhile and that the result was beautiful and exactly as agreed beforehand. Melanie Hilpertshauser writes that she took plenty of time to discuss every detail of the wedding decoration, carried out the couple's idea exactly as wished, and that "Am Tag selber hat alles wunderbar funktioniert!", on the day itself everything worked wonderfully.
Felice Bosco adds that she has attended several of the courses, always got good tips, ideas and help, and found every material she could think of on hand. Other comments are shorter. Micha Guillet writes simply that Monika makes very beautiful flower decorations for weddings, and Pascal Schläpfer thanks her for wonderful advice. Alexandra Müller praises very good advice and faultless service "zu einem fairen Preis", at a fair price. Laura Walker's comment is headed "Auf Monika ist immer Verlass", you can always rely on Monika. Another says the wedding floristry was beautiful and exceeded all expectations, and Sigrid B. writes that in a time of mourning it matters to be able to rely on flowers being done reliably and beautifully.
For a couple, the useful pattern is the same in several comments: detailed discussion up front, and the result matching what was agreed.
Courses, funeral and Advent work
Silberknospe also runs floristry courses in the same workshop. The site says participants get the space and time to create floral pieces under expert guidance, that all material for each course is provided, and that participants choose their preferred colors and "kreierst Deine Dekoration nach Deinem persönlichen Stil in entspannter Atmosphäre", make the decoration in their own style in a relaxed atmosphere. One client mentions having attended several courses to make Advent and spring arrangements. The site does not say whether a private course can be booked for a group, which is worth asking if a couple has a hen party or a family gathering in mind.
Funeral floristry has its own section, which describes flowers as a sign of love and appreciation and a personal floral farewell as a way to express grief, love, friendship and connection. Advent wreaths and arrangements are offered to order for anyone who lacks the time or the inclination to make their own, with the site evoking candlelight, the scent of cypress and the shine of baubles.
Contact
The homepage gives her address, Weidackerstrasse 10, 8356 Ettenhausen, and the phone number 077 420 84 54. Phone hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 to 18.00 and Saturday 9.00 to 11.00, and the menu has a contact page. The site closes with the line that she looks forward very much to hearing from people.
What the site does not settle
No prices are published and there are no packages, though one customer calls her prices fair. The site does not say how far ahead a wedding should be booked, whether there is a minimum order, or what a wedding commission includes beyond bouquets, table decorations and ceremony flowers. It does not state whether she delivers to the venue or sets up on the day; one client writes that everything worked wonderfully on the day itself, but the service text does not describe delivery or setup.
The site is in German only, apart from a stray English phrase ("favorite pieces of work") in the about text, and it says nothing about working in English. A couple planning from abroad should ask about language by phone or through the contact page at the first contact.
Who it suits
Silberknospe suits couples who want to deal with one trained florist from the first conversation to the day itself, and who value the careful, detail-by-detail planning her clients describe. Couples marrying within reach of Ettenhausen, and those who like the idea of a florist who also teaches, will find a good fit.
It suits less well a very large wedding that needs several florists on the day, or a couple who wants a priced package and an English-language process before making contact. As a one-woman commission business, her calendar is the limit, so a couple with a fixed date should get in touch early.
