angezogen is a men's and women's fashion store at Entlebucherstrasse 27 in Wolhusen, in the canton of Lucerne, run by angezogen-wolhusen gmbh. Alongside casual, business and formal wear, it has a wedding department with pages for the groom, the best man, wedding guests and the bride. The groom's page is the heart of it: suits sold off the rack and then altered to the groom's measurements in the store's own atelier, with prices, the process and the house rules all set out in a clear FAQ.
The groom's suit, in five steps
The page describes the store as a specialist in groom's fashion with a wide range of high-quality wedding wear, "von elegant, über sportlich, bis hin zu modern geschnittener Kleidung" (from elegant through sporty to modern-cut clothing) for men about to marry, with fashion accessories to go with it. It says the team looks for the latest wedding trends every year. The pitch to the groom is simple: here you can see the suit on your own body in the mirror.
The process is laid out in 5 steps. First, book an appointment through the online form. Second, a consultation in what the site calls its light-flooded store, with a large selection to choose from. Third, the suit is altered to measure in the in-house atelier. Fourth, the groom collects it at the store in Wolhusen. Fifth, the wedding. The page adds that 981 other grooms have already trusted the store, and it advertises what it calls its 5-star advice.
This is worth being precise about for a couple from abroad: the page describes altering a chosen suit to fit ("Anpassung nach Mass"), not making a suit from scratch. The fabrics, the FAQ says, are made in Europe.
Prices and the rules
The FAQ answers the questions most men's shops leave to a phone call.
- Price. Suits (jacket and trousers, "Veston und Hose") cost between CHF 569 and CHF 999.
- Appointment. Required, not optional. The site says 4 to 6 months before the wedding is the ideal time.
- Rental. Not offered. The reasoning is that the suit should be chosen for one man only, with color, figure, size and the whole outfit made to suit him.
- Online ordering. Not possible for a suit. There is an online shop for accessories, but the store wants the one-to-one consultation for a wedding suit.
- Colors in stock. Various blues, greens and sand tones, plus models in petrol, anthracite, gray and burgundy.
- Sizes. Up to size 60, plus short sizes.
- Consultation fee. Free for up to 2 hours. Appointments canceled at short notice (3 days or less) are charged CHF 100, which is deducted again if the groom buys.
- Companions. The store recommends bringing at most 2 people.
- What to bring. A fabric sample from the bride's dress, ideally in a sealed envelope; the site promises to treat it discreetly. That lets the groom's suit be matched to a dress he has not seen.
Best man, guests and the bride
The best-man page says the store specializes in men's clothing for best men that matches the maid of honor, and it mentions a matching bow tie with suspenders, adding that the store's logo is itself a bow tie. The groom's FAQ says the best man's outfit should ideally be coordinated with the groom's suit, and that best men get the same advice as the groom. The guest page offers men and women a wide choice of festive clothing, with the advice team on hand for those unsure what suits them.
For the bride, the store's bride page points to a separate business: Jolie Mode, a bridal boutique in Root LU, which the page says has been under new ownership since the start of 2023, has its own tailoring, and also alters dresses bought elsewhere. Bridal appointments go to Jolie Mode directly on 041 440 00 74 or info@jolie-mode.ch, not to angezogen.
The site also runs a "Knigge" section with short etiquette pieces: combining shoes and belts, colored socks with a suit, the right tie length, why the bottom jacket button stays open. A newsletter invites readers to join over 1,000 subscribers.
The rest of the store
The wedding department sits inside a general fashion store. The site's menu covers casual wear for women and men, business wear and festive wear, an online shop for accessories, a separate section for bow ties and accessories, outfits for clubs and associations ("Vereine"), care tips for clothing and a gift-voucher shop. Two of those are handy around a wedding: the bow-tie and accessory range for finishing the groom's and best men's outfits, and the vouchers as a thank-you gift for the men in the wedding party. Business and festive wear also means the suit can be chosen with a second life at work in mind.
Getting there and booking
The store is in Wolhusen and the page says free parking is available. Opening hours are Tuesday to Thursday 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 18:30, Friday 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 21:00 (late shopping), and Saturday 09:00 to 16:00. Contact is mode@angezogen-wolhusen.ch or 041 490 14 43, and appointments are booked through the online form. The wedding pages describe the store as serving the Lucerne, Zug, Obwalden, Nidwalden, Aarau and Olten region.
What the site does not settle
The site is in German only and says nothing about whether the consultation can be held in English. It does not say how many fittings the alteration takes, how long the atelier needs, or whether alterations are included in the suit price or charged separately. Shoes, shirts and ties are not priced on the wedding pages. For a groom who lives abroad, the key question is timing: the store requires at least one visit to choose and one to collect, so he should ask how the fittings can be fitted into the trips he is already making.
Who it suits
angezogen suits a groom in central Switzerland, or one with family near Lucerne, who wants to try suits on, have one altered in-house and know the price range in advance. The CHF 569 to CHF 999 band is clear for budgeting, the stock includes short and large sizes, and best men can be dressed in the same visit. It suits less well a groom who wants to rent, to order a suit from scratch, or to deal in English, and one who cannot come to Wolhusen at least twice.
