A menswear store with made-to-measure in Aarau
perfectmen.ch is a menswear store and online shop with a showroom on Obere Vorstadt in Aarau (the FAQ gives the address as Oberen Vorstadt 17 + 22). Its tagline is "Für den Mann mit Stil" (for the man with style). It sells made-to-measure suits, shirts, trousers, jackets, waistcoats and coats, ready-to-wear clothing, Berwick shoes and belts, ties and suspenders, and it is linked to a sewing atelier that handles alterations. Weddings are named directly on the homepage: the made-to-measure suits are offered for business, "Hochzeit oder besondere Anlässe" (a wedding or special occasions), and the made-to-measure menu includes a ceremony category.
Made-to-measure, with prices
The made-to-measure collection page lists prices, which is still rare in this trade. Starting prices shown are:
- Made-to-measure suit (Massanzug) from CHF 945
- Suit with matching made-to-measure waistcoat from CHF 1,180
- Waistcoat alone (Massgilet) from CHF 274
- Made-to-measure trousers from CHF 291
- Made-to-measure blazer from CHF 689
- Made-to-measure coat from CHF 749
- Made-to-measure shirt from CHF 149
The homepage explains the idea: the suits are made individually for the customer, "von der Stoffwahl bis zum letzten Detail" (from the choice of fabric to the last detail), and the customer decides style, cut and fit. The shirts are made to the customer's wishes too, from collar shape and cuffs to the fabric. For a groom, the suit-and-waistcoat line at CHF 1,180 is the natural starting point for a three-piece wedding look, with a made-to-measure shirt on top.
The store also presents itself as an adviser on the whole look. "Ob Massanzug, passende Schuhe zum Hut oder der richtigen Farbkombination von Weste und Einstecktuch", the homepage says, the team advises honestly, fairly and competently: whether it is the made-to-measure suit, shoes to match a hat, or the right color combination of waistcoat and pocket square.
The made-to-measure items in the shop are listed under the supplier name YeKe, with labels "MTM" (for the shirt and coat) and "NMTM" (for the suit, blazer, waistcoat and trousers). The site does not explain the difference between the two labels, which is one more thing to ask at the first appointment.
Ready-to-wear for the rest of the party
Not every man in a wedding party needs made-to-measure. The clothing menu also covers ready-to-wear shirts, trousers, T-shirts and polos, sweaters, cardigans, waistcoats and turtlenecks, and the FAQ confirms that items in stock can be tried on in the showroom. A best man or a father of the groom who only needs a shirt, a waistcoat and shoes to match the groom's suit can find those here, and the shop's advice on combining waistcoat and pocket square colors is aimed at exactly that kind of coordination.
Shoes and accessories
The shop sells Berwick shoes, with the models shown on the homepage priced from CHF 259 to CHF 269, and Berwick and italbel leather belts at CHF 69 and CHF 79. Ties and suspenders are listed among customer favorites, and the menu also includes a barber section and gift ideas, plus gift vouchers from CHF 50. A groom can therefore buy the shoes, belt, tie and suspenders in the same place as the suit.
What the reviews say
The homepage carries a long list of customer reviews, several of them about the atelier. The most relevant for a wedding comes from Daniel L., who writes: "Für eine Hochzeit haben wir unsere Anzüge im Atelier massschneidern lassen" (we had our suits made to measure in the atelier for a wedding), calls the service, atmosphere and advice outstanding, and names Efrem and Talar as the hosts. Another customer, M Ce, brought a suit in for resizing and says the changes were done precisely, quickly and on time. Ced Hrz describes dropping in spontaneously with a special request for an improvement to his weighted vest, which Efrem Gares understood at once and carried out at a very fair price. David K. Merki says the price-performance ratio "ist absolut in Ordnung" (is absolutely fine). Other reviewers praise the sewing atelier: Sibylle Bally for the friendly, warm and professional welcome, Jasmin Manger for shortening and adjusting two women's suits, Noah B. for a broken zip and a loose hem fixed quickly at a fair price, and Jacqueline Isenburg for advice on both her own alterations and her husband's menswear.
Booking, trying on and returns
The FAQ answers the practical questions. Appointments can be made on the satelieraarau.ch website, by phone or in person. The store offers personal advice on site, and items in stock can be tried on in the showroom. Online orders are shipped within 24 hours by A-Post, and shipping is free from CHF 1,000. Orders can be changed until they are shipped. Unused products can be returned, with made-to-measure clothing excluded. Contact is +41 62 822 47 54 or info@perfectmen.ch, and there is a contact form on the homepage.
What the site does not settle
The site gives no lead time for made-to-measure pieces and does not say how many fittings a suit needs, which a groom needs to know before booking. It does not publish opening hours on its homepage or its made-to-measure collection page, so a visit should be arranged by phone or through the appointment site. It does not explain what the ceremony category contains or how made-to-measure prices rise with fabric choice beyond the "from" figures. The site is in German only and does not say whether advice is available in English; a groom from abroad should ask when he books.
Who it suits
perfectmen.ch suits a groom in the Aarau area, or one who can get to Aarau, who wants a made-to-measure wedding suit at a published starting price and would like to buy shoes, belt and accessories in the same place. The sewing atelier behind the store is a plus for last adjustments, and the reviews repeatedly mention fair prices and a personal welcome. It suits less well a groom who needs a guaranteed delivery date before he commits, or who wants to be advised in English without checking first.
