Carlton-Europe Hotel

Tap a star to rate

The Carlton-Europe Hotel is an adults-only hotel at Höheweg 92-94 in Interlaken that calls itself the "Carlton-Europe Vintage Erwachsenenhotel" (vintage adults hotel). Its banquets and weddings page makes one argument above all: after the party nobody has to go home, because the hotel has a room for the couple and for every guest, for one night or several. For couples bringing guests from abroad to the Bernese Oberland, that is the main reason to look at it.

The wedding offer

The wedding section is headed "Ja, ich will!" (Yes, I do!). It says the hotel can host a small celebration or a big party, that it has "zahlreiche Möglichkeiten" (numerous possibilities), and asks couples to share their wishes and give the hotel the honor of organizing the celebration. There is a wedding inquiry form (Hochzeitsanfrage) and a wedding flyer as a PDF. A separate banquet inquiry form, a hotel brochure and the banquet menus for 2026 (Bankettmenus 2026) are linked from the same page.

On food, the page offers dishes from the hotel kitchen, a dessert buffet to the couple's wishes, or a gourmet menu "zubereitet von einem Sternekoch" (prepared by a star chef), with the note that the star chef depends on availability and the couple's preferences. The packages page adds a line about the kitchen's style: regional, seasonal and with herbs from the hotel's own garden.

Where the party happens

Two named spaces appear on the wedding page, beyond the restaurants and bar in the site's menu.

The panorama roof terrace. The page describes the roof terrace on the 6th floor of the Carlton building as unique: high above the roofs of Interlaken, a group can celebrate undisturbed and take in the panoramic view of the mountains. It is offered as an event location with its own availability request. The Aarmühle suite page describes a large roof terrace on the same floor, belonging to the suite, with loungers, tables and a fire bowl, and the winter package page names the view from it as the Harder, the Niesen and the Jungfrau range; ask which terrace an event would use.

The wine cellar, Caveau de l'Europe. The hotel's cellar, stocked with selected wines, is suggested for a relaxed end to a long day or a special apéro before dinner, which fits a wedding apéro or a welcome evening the night before.

The page does not give capacities for either space or for the restaurants, and it does not name a room for a ceremony.

Catering at another venue

The hotel kitchen also cooks outside the house. The catering page, "Küche Zuhause geniessen" (enjoy our kitchen at home), offers a buffet of delicacies or an apéro reception anywhere, planned individually and with attention to detail, with inquiries by email. For a couple who marry elsewhere in the Interlaken area but put their guests up here, that keeps food and rooms with one team.

Rooms for the wedding party

The rooms page lists Classic and Superior rooms, Signature Suites, the Aarmühle Penthouse Suite and serviced apartments. The hotel also has a relax area with a natural bathing pond, garden chess and a pétanque court, and a wellness area, the "Oberländer Wellnessdörfli", with a Finnish sauna, bio-sauna, steam bath, Kneipp foot bath, adventure shower and quiet room, in a Swiss chalet style.

The Signature Suites offer, according to their page, a whirlpool, a kitchenette, a Nespresso machine and a large terrace or balcony. The Aarmühle Penthouse Suite, the obvious wedding-night room, is on the 5th floor of the Carlton building, with a large living and sleeping room, a second bedroom, a full kitchen and two bathrooms, one with a corner bath and one with a sauna. On the 6th floor above are a gallery and the large roof terrace with an outdoor bed. The winter package prices the suite from CHF 799 per night, and wellness entry and a garage parking space are included.

For direct bookings, check-in is guaranteed from 14:00 to 23:30 and check-out by 11:00, or 12:00 on Sundays, with earlier and later times on request. Breakfast runs 07:00 to 10:00, until 11:00 on Sundays and holidays. Guests get the Interlaken guest card, which the hotel says brings up to 50% off excursions and experiences in the region, useful for a wedding weekend with free days.

Getting there from abroad

This is where the Carlton-Europe is more helpful than most venues. The packages page offers an arrival package for guests flying into Switzerland: from Zurich, Geneva or Basel airport by train to Interlaken Ost, with a Swiss half-fare travelcard included for the stay, from CHF 177. It asks for first and last name, date of birth, airport and travel dates to book. A separate luggage offer with the Swiss railways (SBB) collects bags from home and delivers them to the hotel room, and takes them back afterwards. The hotel also has its own underground garage.

Language

The site has German, French and English versions. The pages do not say which languages the events team works in, though the hotel history book given on the house tour is noted as German only. A couple from abroad can write in English and check early.

What the site does not settle

No wedding prices, room hire fees or menu prices appear on the page itself; they sit in the banquet menu PDF and the flyer, or come with a quote. The page gives no guest capacity for any space. It offers no civil ceremony and does not describe a ceremony at all, so a couple should ask whether a celebrant-led ceremony on the roof terrace is possible and plan the legal ceremony separately. The adults-only rule is stated in the hotel's name, but the page does not say how it applies to children at a wedding party; families with young guests need to ask.

Who it suits

The Carlton-Europe fits a couple who want a wedding weekend in Interlaken where guests arrive by train, sleep in the same building, and spend the free day in the mountains. The roof terrace with its mountain view is the standout space, and the suites make the wedding night easy. The caveats are the missing capacities, the lack of a ceremony offer, and an adults-only policy that may not suit every family.
