Die Stahlbude

Die Stahlbude (the name means roughly "the steel shed") is an event venue at Geissgasse 27 in Interlaken that hosts weddings, company parties, private celebrations and its own public events. Its wedding page sums up the idea as "Industrielle Eleganz trifft auf Wärme, Stil und Herzlichkeit" (industrial elegance meets warmth, style and hospitality): an industrial-style space with its own kitchen, aimed at couples who want their day to feel different from a hotel ballroom. The contact named on every page is Martin Surber.
The wedding offer
The wedding page promises to make the day an experience full of emotion, with the mix of industrial charm and a warm atmosphere as the backdrop. It describes the rooms as wandelbar (adaptable), changing to fit the couple's wedding style, whether elegant, modern, rustic or romantic. Decoration, the running order and the details are matched to the couple's wishes. The key line for couples planning from a distance is "Von der ersten Idee bis zum letzten Tanz begleiten wir Sie" (we accompany you from the first idea to the last dance), followed by "Feiern Sie Ihre Liebe, wir kümmern uns um den Rest" (celebrate your love, we take care of the rest).
The site's own short description promises real materials, a warm atmosphere and honest food, with individually designed rooms and a kitchen that makes each celebration its own. Each event page also links a photo gallery (Bildergalerie), the easiest way for a couple abroad to judge whether the industrial look suits them before arranging a visit.
In practice this means the venue offers more than a room: help with planning, decoration and the flow of the day, plus food from its own kitchen. The wedding page does not list what that support includes, how much of it is standard, or whether a couple can bring their own planner or decorator.
Size and facilities
The company events page gives the hard facts that the wedding page leaves out, and they apply to the same building. The Stahlbude has an indoor area of about 200 m² with room for up to 150 guests, at a central location on the Geissgasse with plenty of parking. Its infrastructure includes a sound and lighting system, an optional stage, three 70-inch UHD smart TVs, a terrace and a fumoir (a smoking room). The same page says the rooms can be arranged flexibly and that a company celebrates exclusively, in a closed setting without outside guests; the wedding page does not repeat that promise, but it is worth confirming that a wedding has the place to itself too.
For a wedding, the stage and the sound and light system make a band or a DJ straightforward, the screens suit a slideshow or speeches with pictures, and the terrace gives guests somewhere to step outside.
Food and drink
The company page says the house kitchen serves freshly made, high-quality food, from an apéro to a multi-course menu, adapted to the client's wishes. The private events page repeats that everything from the apéro to the festive dinner is freshly prepared with attention to detail. Each event page has sections headed Preise (prices), Menu and Weinkarte (wine list), which point to the price and menu documents; their contents are not on the pages themselves.
The events page gives a taste of the everyday cooking. For 2 October 2026 it lists an Oktoberfest menu of Szegediner goulash with Schupfnudeln (potato noodles), Weisswürste with pretzels, and cheese Spätzle.
The Stahlbude as a party venue
The house also runs its own events, which says something about its style. The events page lists an Oktoberfest on Friday 2 October 2026, with doors at 18:00, the band Rampenhirsche at 19:00 and entry at 20 francs, and a New Year's Eve party for 2026/27. The private events page covers birthdays, anniversaries and other personal celebrations. The company page lists Christmas parties, anniversaries, seminars, workshops, team building, product launches, client events and summer parties with an outdoor option, and notes that smaller companies can share an event with partner firms. This is a venue used to loud, busy nights, which suits a wedding that should end on the dance floor.
Getting there
The company page says the Stahlbude is easy to reach, a short distance from Interlaken Ost station, a bus stop and the motorway exit, and that there are plenty of parking spaces. That is useful for a destination wedding: guests can arrive by train and walk or take a short ride, and those who drive can park. The site gives no minutes or meters, so check the walk from the station on a map before promising it to older guests.
Contact and language
Martin Surber can be reached on 078 603 04 04 or at info@stahlbude.ch, and the site invites couples to a personal viewing, with a non-binding quote offered on the company page. The site is in German only and says nothing about English, so a couple from abroad should simply write in English and ask how planning conversations and the service on the day will work.
What the site does not settle
The pages publish no wedding prices on the page itself, no minimum spend and no end time. The venue does not offer a ceremony of any kind on its wedding page, civil or celebrant-led, so a couple will marry elsewhere or bring a celebrant and ask whether the room can host the ceremony. There is no accommodation; guests will stay in Interlaken's hotels, which the site does not name or arrange.
Who it suits
Die Stahlbude suits a couple who want an informal, modern wedding party in Interlaken for up to 150 guests, with good sound and light, food from the house kitchen and a team that helps plan the day. The industrial style is its identity, so it fits couples who prefer an industrial look to chandeliers and ballrooms. The caveats are the German-only site, prices kept in separate documents, and the need to book both the ceremony and the guests' hotels elsewhere.
