Le Pont-de-Thielle
Tap a star to rate
Le Pont-de-Thielle is a hotel and event venue at Zihlbrücke 15 in Pont-de-Thielle (Gals), on the water in the Seeland, that is rented out whole for weddings. The site sums up what it offers in one list: ceremony, apéritif, wedding dinner, private disco and hotel, all on the same private grounds, in summer and in winter. The page adds that each space is planned, equipped and decorated to the couple's wishes, which in practice means the venue team dresses the rooms rather than handing over an empty hall.
What the grounds offer
The wedding page lists what it calls unique to Le Pont-de-Thielle, and the figures are specific:
- The whole property is privatized for the wedding.
- A private landing stage lets the couple arrive by boat from the Thielle canal (the Zihlkanal on the German page).
- A free private car park with 150 spaces.
- A hotel on site for up to 20 people, with the Ibis Hôtel 3 Lacs 5 minutes away on foot.
- A fully equipped tent for religious or secular ceremonies, for 30 to 120 people.
- A large terrace for the apéritif, for up to 300 people.
- An apéritif by boat on Lake Neuchâtel or Lake Biel, on request.
- An indoor room for the apéritif if it rains, for 30 to 230 people.
- A banquet hall with 30 to 130 seats for dinner.
- A private disco with sound and light show.
- Celebrations can run until 4 in the morning.
The German version of the page gives slightly different lower limits (a banquet hall of 50 to 130 seats, a terrace for 50 to 300, and the modular disco room for 50 to 230 standing), so a couple with a small guest list should check the minimum directly.
The named spaces on the page are the Eden garden with its private landing stage, the Eden tent, the terrace, the dining room, the disco room and the bridal suite. The site's hotel section lists its rooms by name, including Superior Chic «Sydney», Deluxe «Blue-Night», Chic River Side «Nena», Standard River Side, and two Standard Street View rooms named «Du Pont» and «1924», plus a Marina Boat Hotel. A private garden with a natural pool is listed too, and the site's navigation also offers boat moorings, parking spaces and garages, and furnished studios and rooms for longer stays. The moorings are a detail worth knowing for guests who own a boat on the lakes: the site rents them, though the wedding page does not say whether they can be booked for one night.
The WEDDING package
The site's "WEDDING" package covers:
- personal support with preparations and coordination on the day, with the venue's own wedding organizers ("nos organisatrices de mariage");
- preparation, setup, clearing and cleaning of the grounds;
- access to the venue's decoration stock and its installation (the German page points to a separate Instagram account for the decorations);
- multimedia equipment, listed as sound, computers, speakers, microphones, projector and mixing desk;
- 2 photo booths with printer, photo paper and costumes, with 300 sheets of photo paper according to the German page;
- service staff;
- drinks.
Food is not included. For the apéritif and the dinner, couples choose from the venue's list of 5 caterers, and caterer menus are linked from the page. That split is worth understanding early: the venue coordinates the day and serves the drinks, while the meal comes from one of the caterers on its list, so the final cost has two parts.
Prices are in the wedding dossier, a PDF with rates and details in the site's "infothèque" section. The terms for weddings are also published separately, as the CGV Mariage (AGB Hochzeit in German).
Winter weddings
The venue actively markets winter weddings. The French page asks couples to imagine outdoor candlelit decoration, a large fire bowl to warm up by, sheepskin-covered seats and heated tents for the ceremony. The German page adds a glass of champagne in a lounge draped in sheepskins. For a couple who wants a snowy wedding without going up a mountain, that is a clear alternative, though the page itself only hopes for snow: "Pourvu qu'il neige" (let's hope it snows).
Booking from abroad
The first step is the online calendar. A date the couple reserves provisionally is held for 7 days; without a reply from the couple within that time, the date is released again. Visits of the grounds are by appointment on 032 / 338 94 95, or by email to celine@pont-de-thielle.ch. The contact form asks for a name, a postal address, a mobile number, the event date, the number of guests and the type of event, with wedding, company event, birthday and baptism among the choices.
Once booked, clients get access to an information center with further documents, tables and plans for the preparations, and the login details are requested through the contact form. The site also has a couples' portal, a page of "Gold Partners" (the wedding video at the top of the page was made by one of them, the photographer and videographer RYŌKA Wedding), and a wedding fair page.
What the site does not say
The site is published in French and German only. It does not say whether the wedding organizers work in English, which a couple planning from abroad should ask in the first email. The wedding page names the landing stage, the car park and the nearby Ibis, but gives no public transport directions or transfer options; the site links to a tourist information page, and couples with guests who will not drive should raise transport early. With room for up to 20 people in the hotel on site, most guests at a larger wedding will need rooms elsewhere, and the page names only the Ibis. The operating company is listed in the footer as TNC AG.
Who it suits
Le Pont-de-Thielle suits couples who want one private site for the whole day and night, from a boat arrival and a ceremony in the tent to dinner for up to 130 and a disco until 4 in the morning, with coordination and drinks handled by the venue. The winter setup is a real option for a cold-season wedding by the water. It suits less well a couple who wants the venue's own kitchen to cook, a small dinner below the stated minimums, or a planning team confirmed to work in English without asking.
