No caterer is named, because the restaurant's own kitchen already covers the food. Read as marketing, it's a nice touch. Read as logistics, it's the venue quietly answering a question a couple planning from anywhere else would otherwise have to solve themselves: who actually gets a supplier, and their equipment, onto a mountain with no road.

Kleine Scheidegg, the pass the restaurant sits on, has none. Wikipedia's own entry for the pass names one way it's crossed by anything other than foot traffic: rail. The restaurant's own arrival page, the one page on the whole site dedicated to getting a guest there, never mentions a car park, a shuttle bus, or a road of any kind, only 2 rail routes up: the Wengernalp Railway direct from Grindelwald or Wengen, or the newer Eiger Express gondola with a change onto the Jungfraubahn at Eigergletscher station. The same Wikipedia entry also notes that a marked trail crosses the pass, part of the Alpine Pass Route that runs the length of Switzerland and the finish line of the Jungfrau Marathon every September, so Kleine Scheidegg isn't sealed off from anyone arriving on foot. It's just not how a wedding cake, a delivery of flowers, or a rented sound system gets there. On that specific question the restaurant's own site says nothing at all: no freight timetable, no luggage service, no note about what a supplier should do differently from a guest checking in for the night. The partner list in the banquet document is the closest thing to an answer it gives, and the answer is to recommend 3 people local enough to have solved the problem long before a couple ever asks about it.

The banquet document names 5 rooms; the wedding page names only one number

The live site's banquets section makes exactly one seating claim, that the restaurant is "the ideal venue for small and large groups and celebrations for up to 300 people," available to any group of 15 or more once a week's notice is given for the menu. The banquet document itself breaks that single figure into 5 actual spaces, each printed with a seated total and a standing total roughly double it: the Restaurant itself, up to 110 seated or 200 standing; the Gallerie, up to 160 seated or 300 standing; a smaller Nischenabteil, up to 50 seated or 80 standing; a left terrace, up to 100 seated or 200 standing; and a right terrace, up to 300 seated or 600 standing. That last figure, the right terrace on its own, is exactly the 300 the live wedding copy advertises. It isn't a sum across all 5 rooms. A couple planning for 300 guests is booking the largest single space the restaurant has, an open terrace at 2,061 meters, not the building's combined capacity, and neither document says whether the indoor rooms can be pressed into service alongside it if the weather on an exposed mountain pass turns against an outdoor reception.

One published season, and a December booking on its own terms sheet

The restaurant states a single opening window on its own site: 30 May to 26 October, open daily from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. No winter hours appear anywhere on the page, even though the same page promotes skiing, snowboarding and winter hiking in the region around it as reasons to visit. Read alone, that would suggest the restaurant simply closes for the roughly 7 months the Jungfrau Region is best known for.

Its own banquet document complicates that reading. Under "Exklusivität und Mitternacht" (exclusivity and midnight), it sets 2 different minimum-spend figures for a private booking that takes the venue past its normal hours: CHF 15'000 for summer, running May through November, and CHF 30'000 for winter, December through April. A minimum-consumption figure for a season the public opening hours never mention only makes sense if private events actually happen in it, and the restaurant's own journal confirms one did: in March 2024, migrolino AG booked the restaurant for a franchise-partner event under the name "Hüttengaudi," with a morning program of skiing, snowboarding or winter hiking before lunch. That's a documented private booking in the middle of winter, on a date the public hours say the restaurant isn't open. Nothing on the site reconciles the 2 accounts; the honest reading is that a couple marrying here outside the published summer season is booking an arrangement the site advertises to no one, at double the summer minimum spend, rather than a season Restaurant Eigernordwand actually runs for anyone who walks in.

The one document with the actual numbers never got translated

The wedding page renders in English. Its own language switcher offers a full English version, and the restaurant's arrival instructions, its menu highlights and its facts and figures all read the same in both languages. The banquet document does not. It's the same PDF file, right down to the filename, linked from both the German and the English versions of the page, and every word of it is in German: the room capacities, the cancellation clause, the minimum spend, the overtime fee, even the partner list of a photographer, a hairstylist and a florist. Restaurant Eigernordwand publishes no overnight rooms of its own, so a reception that runs past that hour isn't just paying more for staff, every guest still needs a way back down a mountain the site only ever describes as reached by train, and nothing on the venue's own pages states how late that connection runs on any given date. A couple weighing how long to keep the dance floor open is weighing a cost the restaurant states plainly, CHF 250 an hour per employee after 22:00, against a transport question it never addresses at all.

A restaurant in a portfolio of 13, not a standalone business

The group's own about page counts 13 restaurants and accommodation properties across Switzerland, 280 employees, and "23 years" in business, with Restaurant Eigernordwand sitting alongside hotels and mountain restaurants in Davos, Lenzerheide and Thun rather than standing alone. That scale shows up in how the venue talks about itself: its own journal piece about the March 2024 migrolino event pitches the restaurant not as a wedding specialist but as one of several interchangeable Hüttenzauber addresses for a "corporate event," alongside a Thun arena and a Davos inn. A couple booking here is booking into a hospitality group's mountain outpost, with a group-wide booking address and a group-wide contact form, rather than a family business with its own dedicated wedding department.

What the site actually promises, and what it never mentions

The site's only wedding language sits inside the banquets paragraph, which groups "corporate events to weddings and birthday parties" under one customizable offer. Nothing on the page describes a ceremony room, an officiant, or any structure beyond a reception: no registrar, no Zivilstandsamt, no civil-ceremony contact appears anywhere across every page checked for this listing. That's a description of what this particular banquet document leaves out, not a claim about where Swiss law lets a marriage happen; Restaurant Eigernordwand simply never raises the question on its own pages, at any altitude. A couple who wants a legally binding ceremony on site would need to look elsewhere for that, and plan a reception here as the second half of the day rather than the whole of it.

What the restaurant does offer is specific and sourced from its own paperwork: a terrace that seats up to 300 with the Eiger's north face behind the head table, a smaller indoor room for a rehearsal dinner or a rainy backup, a named local photographer, hairstylist and florist who already know how to work a wedding at 2,061 meters, and a minimum-spend structure that makes clear a winter date is possible even though the site never says so out loud. What it asks for in return is a booking that behaves like a freight problem as much as a romantic one: menus locked a week out, cancellations priced by the day, an overtime fee that starts at 22:00, and the one document holding all of it available only in German.
