An event venue in the middle of Chur
B12 Chur is an event venue and catering business at Brandisstrasse 12 in Chur, in the canton of Graubünden. Its home page presents it as an event venue in the middle of Chur, under the tagline event and catering. There are two sides to the business: the venue itself, with the large Brandissaal for up to 200 people, and a catering service that brings the kitchen to wherever a couple wants to celebrate. The host and owner is Corsin Theus, and the business behind the site is Brandis 12 AG.
For a couple from abroad, the practical case is location. The venue's fact list says it is "4 Gehminuten vom Bahnhof entfernt" (4 minutes' walk from the station), with parking in front of the building, so guests can arrive by train without a transfer.
The venue
The home page describes inviting indoor rooms with a seminar and bar area, the big Brandissaal for up to 200 people, and "eine tolle Terrasse" (a great terrace) that suits a drinks reception or an outdoor party. The fact list adds a stage in the Brandissaal, banquet rooms, infrastructure for seminars, and a line every wedding planner wants to read: if the weather does not allow the terrace, there are suitable rooms indoors as an alternative. The whole venue can be booked exclusively, so the wedding need not share the building with another event, and the page says it fits both a large event and a smaller celebration.
The events page lists weddings first among the occasions the venue hosts, followed by Christmas parties, birthdays, baptisms, first communions and confirmations, graduations and anniversaries, and promises to adapt the venue to the couple's needs. Four documents are linked from it: menu suggestions, apéro snacks, the wine list and an info brochure called "Heiraten im B12" (getting married at B12). Those are the first things to request, since the site itself publishes no prices.
Food and wine
Catering is the other half of B12. At the venue, the team offers an Apéro riche (a substantial drinks reception), a celebration with a festive menu, a grill buffet or raclette catering. The catering page says the team has the know-how and the equipment to make an event memorable, and the home page speaks of long-standing catering experience and a team that is "Jung, dynamisch & flexibel" (young, dynamic and flexible).
The events page describes a "kleine feine Weinkarte" (a small, fine wine list), with advice on choosing. If the right wine is not on it, the page says the team will try to organize the wine the couple wants. For couples who have a particular producer in mind, that is worth raising early.
Catering somewhere else
B12 also caters away from Chur. The catering page offers to cater at a couple's home, in the forest, in a garden, in an underground car park or at a castle, with a BBQ, a raclette or fondue evening, a picnic or a menu of the couple's choice. Its large food trailer, the Foodanhänger, is described as ideal where the necessary equipment is missing on site: "So bringen wir die mobile Küche auf Räder zu Ihnen" (so we bring the mobile kitchen on wheels to you), whether in a field, a workshop or anywhere else. There is also a raclette grill that the team describes as practical and usable anywhere.
That makes B12 useful to a couple who have found a barn, a garden or a castle in the region without a kitchen. The venue lists experience with weddings, birthdays, topping-out parties, anniversaries, openings and open days.
The team and a change of direction
The team page names Corsin Theus as host and owner, and lists Enrico, Tenzin, Chrifa and Salome, with a spare slot marked "hier könnte dein Name stehen" (your name could be here). The meta description calls them all-rounders in service and kitchen. The home page also carries a notice about a new direction for B12 Chur since June 2025, with details in a linked document, and mentions events of its own such as game dinners (Wildabende). Ask what the change means for weddings before booking.
The rest of the site shows a business that lives from events of every kind. Its menu has sections for conferences, a social wall, a photo gallery called Impressionen and job openings, and the home page invites anyone planning a birthday, a graduation party, a company party or a Christmas dinner to send an enquiry without obligation. A wedding here is handled by a team used to a busy calendar, not by a dedicated wedding house.
Contact and language
Enquiries go through the "Anlassanfrage" (event enquiry) and "Cateringanfrage" (catering enquiry) forms, by phone on 081 250 54 40, or by email to info@b12chur.ch. The home page says "Gerne beraten wir Sie kompetent und individuell für Ihren Anlass" (we are glad to advise you competently and individually on your event). The site is in German only and says nothing about English, so a couple from abroad should ask at the start which languages the team works in.
What the site does not say
There are no prices anywhere on the pages themselves; the linked menus and brochure are the place to look. The site gives no capacity for the terrace, no layout options for the Brandissaal, no end time for parties and no mention of whether a ceremony can be held on site. It does not list which tableware, linens or decoration come with the room, whether outside suppliers such as a DJ are welcome, or how many staff work a wedding. It says nothing about dietary needs or about accommodation for guests.
Who it suits
B12 Chur suits a couple who want a practical, unpretentious city venue in Graubünden for up to 200 guests, reachable on foot from the station, with a terrace for the aperitif and an indoor fallback. It also suits a couple marrying at a remote spot in the region who need a caterer with its own mobile kitchen and a raclette grill.
It is less suited to a couple after mountain views or a historic setting, and those who need an English-speaking planner will want to confirm that first. The recent change of direction is the other open point to settle before signing.
