Schüür zum Hirschpark

Tap a star to rate

Schüür zum Hirschpark is a barn event venue at Spitzfluhhof, 6014 Luzern, that rents out its rooms and grounds for weddings, birthdays and company events. It is a rental venue rather than a restaurant: couples hire the barn and bring in food, drinks and extras from a list of partner businesses the site recommends. Its strength for a couple planning from abroad is that it publishes its prices on the site.

The Three Rental Offers

The Angebote/Preise page sets out three packages, all quoted excluding VAT:

  • CHF 650 for 1 day, described as ideal for small events: the Apéro / Party room with kitchen, the entrance area (Vorraum), the whole outdoor area with its garden arbor (Gartenlaube), a play meadow (Spielwiese) and parking. Up to 80 people.
  • CHF 850 for 1 day, described as ideal for birthdays: the same, plus the Dinner room. The page gives the two rooms as up to 80 and 150 people.
  • CHF 1,950 for 3 days, described as ideal for weddings and company events: both rooms and the same outdoor areas, with the note "Bestes Preis Leistungsverhältnis!" (best value for money).

The 3-day package is the one the venue itself points couples to. It can leave time for setting up and decorating the day before and clearing away the day after, which matters when the couple and their suppliers are doing the work themselves. The page does not state rental hours within each day, a deposit, or cancellation terms; the site has a help center ("Was Du wissen solltest") that may cover some of this.

The Rooms and Grounds

The site names two rooms: the Apéro / Party room, which has a kitchen, and the Dinner room. Outside there is a garden arbor, a play meadow for children and parking. The partner page says the venue has good, up-to-date basic infrastructure, and that anything extra in rental furniture can come from its partner at preferential terms.

The page gives maximum guest numbers, but no room sizes, floor plans or seating layouts. It does not say where a ceremony would take place, whether the garden arbor covers guests in rain, or how late music can run.

Food, Drinks and Extras From Partners

The partner page opens with the heading "EIN GUTES ESSEN BEGINNT BEI UNS" (a good meal starts with us), but the food itself comes from outside caterers. The site lists seven:

  • Stäg Metzg, where Peter Röthlin and his team offer traditional Swiss food for every party.
  • Gourmetstar, which promises personal advice and good quality at fair prices.
  • Lukulus Catering, for family events, company anniversaries and public events.
  • Agri Catering, an initiative of Lucerne farm women offering local food.
  • Kauer Catering, for apéro and apéro riche canapés.
  • Partyservice Kuhn.
  • Migros Catering, which says it caters for 100 to 10,000 guests.

Drinks come through Schürch Getränke, which has an online drinks and party planner, and the page says it knows the Hirschpark delivery arrangements well.

Other partners cover the rest of the day:

  • Huber Event rents furniture at Hirschpark preferential terms, for anything beyond the barn's own basic equipment.
  • Hello-Fotobox rents professional photo booths, also at Hirschpark preferential terms, and names weddings among the events it serves.
  • form & Stil, run by Sabrina Blaser, does decoration; its text is about colors, shapes and design, under the motto that the first impression counts.
  • auviso is a technical service provider for events and media installations, offering sound and lighting as complete solutions.
  • Wunder Hochzeit designs individual wedding ceremonies. Its text says it takes couples' dreams and wishes seriously, and that its aim is to tell the couple's story, carry the guests along and be remembered for its words.

The partner list is useful in itself: it names suppliers the venue works with, which saves a couple from abroad a round of research. The site does not say whether a Wunder Hochzeit ceremony can be held on the Hirschpark grounds, and it does not offer a civil ceremony.

What the Venue Says About Service

The price page says the Schüür offers every service a couple needs, from wedding planning to musicians and entertainment, so that everything runs smoothly. At the same time, the services it lists are provided by partner firms. A couple from abroad should ask exactly how that works: whether the venue coordinates the partners on the day, or whether each partner is booked and briefed separately by the couple. The site also has a Planung (planning) section.

For a Couple From Abroad

The site is in German only and does not say whether the owners work in English. It gives the address, Spitzfluhhof, 6014 Luzern, but no directions, nearest station or bus stop, and no guest accommodation. Parking is included in every package, so guests with cars are covered; guests flying in should ask how to reach the barn and where to stay.

Viewings can be booked online ("Besichtigungstermin Online buchen"), and the page describes them as without obligation. Inquiries go through an event request form for each package. The phone numbers on the site are +41 41 467 39 16 and +41 79 319 02 76. The site also links to Gaby's Hofboutique and a Business Workshop offer, and its Galerie section gives a first look before booking a viewing.

Costs Beyond the Rent

The rental price is only one part of the bill. Catering, drinks, furniture, decoration, sound and a celebrant all come from separate businesses with their own prices. None of those are listed on the Hirschpark site. Couples should allow time to collect several quotes, and should ask each caterer whether it has cooked in the Hirschpark kitchen before.

Who It Suits

Schüür zum Hirschpark suits couples who want a barn wedding in the Lucerne area with a clear, published rent, room for up to 150 at dinner, three days to set up and celebrate, and the freedom to pick their own caterer. It works best for a couple with local help or time to visit, since several suppliers have to be lined up.

It suits less well a couple planning entirely from abroad who want one contact to deliver the whole day, or anyone needing guest rooms on site.
