A bar and event hall in an iron-art gallery
Labuesch Bar is a bar and event venue at Zur Kesselschmiede 27 in Winterthur, on the Sulzer-Areal. Its rental page opens with "Sulzer-Industriegeschichte trifft auf pure Kreativität" (Sulzer industrial history meets pure creativity) and "Inmitten einer Eisenkunstgalerie seit 1993" (in the middle of an iron-art gallery since 1993). The venue calls itself "Mehr als eine EventLocation" (more than an event location), and the site's menu shows the other sides of the business: events, cocktails, food, room rental, art and a page titled "Meine Vision" (my vision).
The page says the venue is only 10 minutes from the main station, and lists weddings among the occasions it hosts, alongside birthdays, business events and an aperitif in the courtyard.
Ceremony and aperitif
The page's wedding section is short and specific: "Ob Apéro nach dem Standesamt oder eine unvergessliche Trauung inmitten unserer beeindruckenden Kunstgalerie, alles ist möglich!" (whether an aperitif after the registry office or a memorable ceremony in the middle of our impressive art gallery, everything is possible). So a couple can use Labuesch for the aperitif after a civil wedding elsewhere, or hold a ceremony among the art itself, and continue into the party.
The event hall and the courtyard
The main room is the event hall. The page says: "Mit einer imposanten Deckenhöhe von 5 Metern bietet unser Eventsaal ein beeindruckendes Raumgefühl" (with an imposing ceiling height of 5 meters, our event hall offers an impressive sense of space). It describes the unchanged industrial character as taking guests back in time, "rau, authentisch und voller Geschichte" (raw, authentic and full of history).
For the outdoor part, the page offers an aperitif in the courtyard: "Geniesse einen stilvollen Apéro draussen im Innenhof und spüre die besondere Atmosphäre" (enjoy a stylish aperitif outside in the courtyard and feel the special atmosphere). Its list of advantages calls this a terrace among the industrial buildings, with the aperitif under open sky, surrounded by Sulzer buildings. The page also has a section on table layouts ("Tischvariationen") and mentions a stage for concerts.
The event manager and the full service
The venue is run personally. The page introduces Noemi Mehring as "Ihre persönliche Eventmanagerin" (your personal event manager) under the heading "Ich kümmere mich, du feierst" (I take care of it, you celebrate). Her promise is broad: "Ich mache das Unmögliche möglich" (I make the impossible possible), from snake dancers and fire shows to a private sushi chef, and she organizes the event "von A bis Z" (from A to Z) so the hosts can simply enjoy it. For a couple planning from abroad, one named contact who handles everything is the practical core of the offer.
Catering and drinks
Food comes from local partners. The page says the venue works with local partners and supports the hosts in their own choice, from the aperitif to the main course and dessert, and asks whether they would rather have a flying buffet or their own grill master, promising to fulfill every wish. It also mentions the option of a sushi evening with an invited guest chef. The page does not publish menus or catering prices.
The drinks are the house specialty. The page describes signature drinks with homemade syrups, from hibiscus-chili through lavender-blackcurrant to a pomegranate foam it calls unique, and says the mocktails are made in-house too, for example with its own turmeric-ginger syrup. For a wedding bar with guests who do not drink alcohol, that attention to the non-alcoholic list is useful.
The party and the art
One advantage stands out on the page's list: "Keine Nachbarn – Tanzen & Feiern bis in die Morgenstunden" (no neighbors, dancing and celebrating until the early hours). The birthday section repeats it, with signature cocktails, concerts on the venue's stage and dancing until morning. For couples who want the party to run late, that is the key point.
The art side offers something unusual. The page describes group painting sessions, turning an event into an art adventure, and among its examples lists painting the bride's wedding dress in bright colors on canvas and painting in a neon room with neon colors. It also offers individually made decoration for every occasion.
The venue's own summary
The page closes its pitch with a list of advantages that sums up the character of the place. Besides the history, the courtyard and the late nights, it names a full service from A to Z, local partners for catering and services from the region, and a family atmosphere, "Persönlich. Individuell. Du & Ich." (personal, individual, you and me). The whole page speaks to guests with the informal "du", which fits a small, personally run venue rather than a large events company.
Contact and language
Bookings go to Noemi Mehring at noemi@labuesch.ch or +41 78 943 99 10, or through the reservation form. The page is written in German, in an informal tone, and it does not say whether the event manager works in English. Couples who plan in English should ask in their first message.
What the page does not settle
The page gives no guest capacity for the hall or the courtyard, no prices for hire, catering or drinks, and no minimum spend. It does not say whether a wedding has the venue exclusively, and it does not describe parking or accommodation for guests. The line "nur 10 Minuten vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt" (only 10 minutes from the main station) does not say whether that is on foot or by other transport. The page also gives no deposit or cancellation terms. With only one page of information, the capacity question should come first.
Who it suits
Labuesch Bar suits couples who want an urban, creative wedding in Winterthur with an industrial setting, art around them, inventive cocktails and a party that can run into the morning without neighbors to worry about. It works as the aperitif venue after a civil ceremony, or as the place for the ceremony and celebration together, with one event manager organizing the rest.
It suits less well a couple planning a formal dinner in a classic setting, or one who needs a published capacity and price before getting in touch. The raw industrial style is the point of the place, and couples should like it before they book.
