A bar and lounge in the middle of Baden
Oscar One is a bar and lounge at Theaterplatz 8 in 5400 Baden, the spa town in the canton of Aargau. Its own pages call it an event location that combines bar and lounge in one ("eine Event Location, welche Bar und Lounge in einem verbindet") and describe a central location with a generous summer terrace and a harmonious interior. The wedding page is headed Hochzeitsfeier in Baden (wedding party in Baden) with the tagline "am Puls der Stadt", at the pulse of the town, and it is clear about what it sells: a wedding aperitif or party at the bar. The site describes no ceremony offer and no banquet dinner.
The site has separate sections for Aarau, Basel and Baden under the Oscar One name. The wedding page, the cocktail workshop page and the contact details used here all belong to the Baden house.
What the wedding offer is
The wedding page describes the bar's atmosphere as unique and charming, cozy and relaxed, and says the event location in the middle of Baden suits a wedding outdoors, under the linden trees, in the Bedouin tent or indoors. In the original: "Ob Sie eine Hochzeit unter freiem Himmel, unter den Linden, dem Beduinenzelt oder drinnen planen". The page does not describe the tent or the linden area further, so a couple interested in the outdoor settings should ask to see them and ask how the tent is set up.
The call to action is specific. The page asks couples to get in touch for more information and to reserve their "Hochzeitsapéro in der OscarOne Bar", their wedding aperitif at the OscarOne bar. The general events page frames the same idea from the other side: among the occasions it lists is inviting guests "nach der Hochzeit", after the wedding. Oscar One is where the party goes once the ceremony, held somewhere else, is over.
Capacity
The one set of figures on the site is on the wedding page: "Unsere Bar mit Stehplätzen für bis zu 100 Personen im Innenbereich und bis zu 200 Gästen im Aussenbereich". That is standing room for up to 100 people inside and up to 200 guests outside. There is no seated figure anywhere on the pages, which fits the bar format: this is a place for a standing reception, not a sit-down dinner. For a larger crowd the outdoor figure only helps in good weather, so a wedding with more than 100 guests is effectively a summer plan.
Drinks and food
Drinks are the core. The wedding page promises a large selection of drinks, including "eine erlesene Auswahl an Weinen", a choice selection of wines. The events page speaks of excellent cocktails and delicious bites (Häppchen), and names apéro riche, the substantial Swiss aperitif, as one of the formats it hosts.
On food for a wedding the page says only: "Gerne stellen wir Ihnen auch ein massgeschneidertes Catering-Angebot zusammen, das auf Ihre Bedürfnisse und Vorlieben abgestimmt ist". In English, the bar will put together a tailored catering offer to fit the couple's needs and preferences. It does not say who cooks, what the menu options are, whether dietary requirements can be met or what anything costs. A couple should ask for a sample offer early.
The cocktail workshop
Oscar One Baden also runs cocktail workshops, led by its bar team. The workshop page says guests learn from the experienced bartenders how to make good cocktails, and that the courses cover classic and modern variations and can be adapted to the group's wishes. It lists company events, birthdays and bachelorette parties ("Junggesellinenabschiede", "Bachelorette Partys") among the occasions, and a workshop as a gift. For a wedding party this is an obvious pre-wedding event for the bride's or groom's friends, or an activity for guests arriving the day before. The workshop has its own request form asking for date, start and end time and the number of people.
Booking and practical details
Both the wedding and workshop pages carry a reservation form. It asks for the date, a start and an end time, the number of people, name, phone, email and date of birth, with a free-text field for comments. The country field offers Switzerland, Germany, France and "Andere" (other), so a couple from abroad can use it. The contact page adds that for short-notice reservations the bar asks to be phoned rather than messaged.
Contact is Oscar One Baden, Theaterplatz 8, 5400 Baden, phone 056 210 00 10, email baden@oscarone.ch.
The contact page lists the regular opening hours: Monday to Thursday 14:00 to 24:00, Friday 14:00 to 02:00, Saturday 10:00 to 02:00 and Sunday 12:00 to 23:00. Those are the public bar hours; the pages do not say how a private wedding party fits around them. They do say Oscar One offers a setting for exclusive events ("Für Exklusiv-Veranstaltungen bietet das OscarOne mit seinem stilvollen Ambiente die perfekte Location"), so an exclusive booking is on the table. Whether that means the whole bar or only part of it, and what it costs, is for the offer.
What the site leaves open
The pages publish no prices for room hire, drinks packages, catering or the workshop. They are in German only and do not say whether the team handles inquiries or events in English. They name no station, parking or accommodation, and they say nothing about sound limits, end times for private events or decoration. For a couple planning from abroad, those are the first questions to send, and it helps to state a guest count and whether you want the bar to yourselves.
Who it suits
Oscar One suits a couple who marry at a registry office or elsewhere and want a relaxed standing aperitif or evening party in the middle of Baden, with good drinks and something to eat. It also suits a pre-wedding evening built around a cocktail workshop. The summer terrace and the outdoor capacity make it most useful in the warmer months.
It is not built for a seated dinner or a full-day wedding program, the site describes no ceremony offer, and the site gives nothing on prices or English service. Couples who need those settled in writing before they commit should ask for them in the first message.
