A hall and a service in one
Royal Palace is an event venue and service business at Holzwingertstrasse 42 in 8409 Winterthur. Its homepage puts the offer in one line: weddings, family celebrations, birthdays, parties and events, "Wir Haben Den Passenden Raum Für Sie", we have the right room for you. Next to the room it sells a set of services, and a button invites couples to reserve the wedding hall ("Reservieren Sie jetzt Ihren Hochzeitssaal!"). The site describes Royal Palace as an event service provider as much as a venue: the idea is that the couple rents the hall and has the same team plan, cater, entertain, decorate and clean up.
For a couple planning from abroad, that is the main point of interest. Instead of assembling a caterer, a decorator and a DJ in a city they may not know, they deal with one business and one phone number.
The 6 services
The homepage lists 6 service areas, each with a short description of the steps it covers:
- Planung (planning): a first consultation to discuss ideas and plan the event in its early stages, then event planning and coordination to fine-tune the details.
- Management: concept development and advice for events, and sourcing equipment and furniture.
- Catering: a planning and advice phase to discuss the client's requirements and the details of the event.
- Entertainment: understanding the client's needs and wishes as the first step.
- Dekoration (decoration): advice and planning from the start, with clear ideas and goals.
- Cleaning: a cleaning plan, the cleaning itself, quality control and follow-up work including removal.
The descriptions on the homepage are cut off after the first lines, and each service has its own page in the site navigation. The homepage does not say which services are done by Royal Palace's own staff and which are arranged through partners.
What the site claims
The homepage shows 4 counters: "1K+ Hochzeiten" (weddings), 218+ concerts, 15+ conferences and 98+ projects. It does not say over what period or where these took place, and it gives no founding year. A section headed "Warum sollten Sie sich für uns entscheiden?" (why choose us) lists 9 reasons: experience, a wide range of services, tailored solutions, expertise, quality, flexibility, competitive prices ("Kompetitive Preise"), reliability and passion. The experience line says the team has years of experience in the event industry, without a number.
The homepage carries 8 short testimonials. 2 of them are about weddings; the others describe a conference, a birthday, company events, a graduation party and an anniversary. They are signed with names and job titles such as florist, DJ, wedding planner, caterer, event manager, actress and technician, which do not always match the event described. They praise the planning, the decoration and the catering in general terms: the wedding testimonials call the decoration "atemberaubend" and the catering excellent. They say little about the hall itself.
The homepage's main text, headed "Feiern Sie stilvoll mit Royal Palace: Der ultimative Veranstaltungsservice" (celebrate in style with Royal Palace, the ultimate event service), argues that choosing the right provider matters for weddings, family celebrations, birthdays and events, and promises a first-class service. Under quality the site says it uses only the best products and services. None of this is backed by specifics on the page, such as named suppliers, menus or examples of past weddings, so it is best read as the business's own pitch and tested against a real offer.
What the homepage does not show
The homepage gives no capacity for the wedding hall, no photos described in text, no floor plan and no list of rooms. It shows no prices on the page itself. The navigation does include separate pages called Preis (price), Termin (appointment), Broschüre (brochure) and FAQs, so some of this may be published there; a couple should look at those first and then ask for an offer through the "Angebot bekommen" (get an offer) button.
It also does not say:
- how many guests the hall seats for dinner, or whether there is a separate room for the ceremony or the aperitif;
- whether couples can bring their own caterer, cake or decorator instead of using the in-house service;
- what the catering covers (cuisines, dietary options, drinks packages);
- the latest end time and any noise rules;
- parking, public transport or hotels for guests.
Language and contact
The site is in German. Its accessibility controls include a switch between left-to-right and right-to-left text, but there is no English version of the pages, and nothing says whether the team handles weddings in English. A couple writing from abroad should say in the first message which language they need for planning and for the day itself.
Contact is by phone on +41 (0) 79 471 5771, by email at info@royalpalace.ch, or through the contact form. The office hours on the site are Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00, so calls from another time zone need to land in that window. The site also has an Instagram and a Facebook link, and a small blog whose visible posts, all dated March 17, 2023, cover the cleaning, management and entertainment services.
How to approach it
The most efficient way for an international couple to use Royal Palace is to send one detailed inquiry: the date, the guest count, the kind of ceremony and meal they have in mind, which of the 6 services they want, and the language they need. The replies to that message will answer the questions the homepage leaves open, including capacity and what the in-house catering looks like. Asking for photos or a visit of the hall before committing is sensible, given that the homepage does not describe it.
Who it suits
Royal Palace suits a couple who wants a hall in Winterthur with the planning, catering, decoration and cleanup handled by the same business, and who prefers one contact over coordinating separate suppliers. The site claims a large number of weddings, and weddings are the first event type it names.
It suits less well a couple who needs capacity, room details and prices before they get in touch, a couple set on their own caterer or decorator, or anyone who needs the whole process in English without checking first. The homepage sells the service more than the space, so seeing the hall is the step not to skip.
