Triibhuus
Tap a star to rate
Triibhuus is a wedding and event venue in a greenhouse at Weidweg 1 in 4852 Rothrist, in the canton of Aargau. The greenhouse stands in the middle of a working nursery, and the venue's page puts the idea in one sentence: "Freie Trauung, Apéro und Fest an einem Ort – mitten in einer Gärtnerei. Keine Raummiete." A free ceremony, aperitif and party in one place, in the middle of a nursery, with no room rent. Couples pay for the catering, not the space; the page lists the room rent as CHF 0.00.
Triibhuus belongs to the Genuss Gastro Plus group, whose sister houses the page lists: Gasthof Kreuz in Egerkingen, Stadtgarten in Wangen an der Aare, Mühlerama Seon, and the group's kitchen, Plus Catering. If the date or the guest count does not fit, the page says the group will look for the right location together with the couple.
The greenhouse and its season
The page heads its description "Ein Gewächshaus, das seinen Beruf nie aufgegeben hat", a greenhouse that never gave up its job. Living plants, glass overhead and light that changes through the evening; heated in winter, open to the garden in summer.
The nursery comes first. From March to the end of May the greenhouse belongs to the nursery, and the page is firm that it is not rented in those 3 months, "auch nicht ausnahmsweise", not even as an exception. From June to the end of February it is available. The winter months are heated and weather-protected, and the page says a winter wedding under strings of lights has a magic of its own ("ihren ganz eigenen Zauber"). It adds that November and December are the most requested weeks of the year, so a date then needs an early inquiry.
Rooms and capacities
There are 2 rooms and, according to the page, 6 seating variants:
- Triibhuus A: 30 to 150 guests seated, for dinner, banquet or a long wedding table. Heated in winter, with PA system and microphone.
- Triibhuus B: up to 150 guests for an aperitif, up to 100 for a free ceremony and up to 100 for party and bar. Bookable June to September only, and only together with Triibhuus A.
The full seating plan with all variants is on a separate page. On accessibility, the page states that the venue is mostly on one level ("überwiegend ebenerdig") but that there are no wheelchair-accessible toilets.
Ceremony
From June to September a free ceremony (freie Trauung) can take place in Triibhuus B for up to 100 guests, booked with Triibhuus A. The page's own schedule allows for the free ceremony to be held elsewhere instead, followed by the couple's entrance. The FAQ adds that "die standesamtliche Trauung findet extern statt": the civil ceremony takes place elsewhere. PA system and microphone for the ceremony are in the house. For a winter wedding, the ceremony therefore happens somewhere else and the greenhouse hosts aperitif, dinner and party.
Food, drink and what is included
Triibhuus has no kitchen of its own. Plus Catering, the kitchen of the Genuss Gastro Plus group, cooks on site and brings service, furniture, tableware and technical equipment. Included are menu planning, the on-site kitchen, service staff, furniture, dishes, glasses, table linen, and setup and teardown, with one contact person from the first idea to the last plate.
The page gives a starting price: "ab CHF 159.00 pro Person", from CHF 159.00 per person, including aperitif, menu, soft drinks, service and staff. Wine and beer are charged by consumption or as a flat rate. For winter weddings a heating flat fee is added, which the page says is already included in the winter package from CHF 119.00. The full menu, wine and drinks selection comes with the personal offer. The page notes that prices on the website are for information, that the prices in the personal offer apply, and that prices may change.
Also in the house: PA system, microphone and Bluetooth audio. DJ, live band and photo booth can be booked, and the team takes on table decoration and floristry on request.
The day and its end time
The page's typical wedding day:
- 14:00 setup and preparation by Plus Catering
- 14:00 free ceremony, in Triibhuus B (June to September) or elsewhere, then the couple's entrance
- 15:00 aperitif with snacks and music outdoors
- 18:00 wedding dinner with starter, main course and dessert
- 20:30 cutting the cake
- 21:00 party and dancing
- 23:00 music turned down, windows closed
- 24:00 end, with an extension in Triibhuus B possible on request (June to September)
The midnight finish is the main practical limit. A couple planning a party into the small hours should either book the summer season and ask for the extension, or plan an afterparty elsewhere.
Booking, terms and payment
The page sets out 7 steps: inquire by form, phone or email; receive a personal offer within 2 to 4 days while the date is held without obligation; arrange a visit; sleep on it; confirm the booking, which fixes the date; plan menu, timing and details together; celebrate. The general terms of Genuss Gastro Plus apply, covering deposit, cancellation periods and staff costs. Payment terms on the page are a 30% deposit on confirmation, and "10 Tage netto" (10 days net). The final guest count and menu choice are due 14 days before the event.
Contact is by email at triibhuus@genuss-gastro.plus or by phone on +41 79 510 09 80.
Arrival and accommodation
The page lists around 30 parking spaces directly on site, and the address is described as five minutes' drive from the A1 motorway. No station or bus stop is named. Triibhuus has no rooms; for guests it recommends Gasthof Kreuz in Egerkingen or a hotel in Zofingen, Aarau or Olten, which the FAQ says are all around 10 to 20 minutes away. The page does not say by what means, so guests without cars should plan transport.
The site is in German and does not say whether the team works in English.
Who it suits
Triibhuus suits couples who want a green, glass-roofed setting with no room rent, clear starting prices and a single catering team, for 30 to 150 guests between June and February. Winter couples get a heated greenhouse under lights; summer couples can hold a free ceremony on site.
It does not suit a spring wedding (March to May), a guest list over 150, a party that must run well past midnight in winter, or guests who need a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
