Nick Magic

Tap a star to rate

Nick Magic is a magician who pitches himself at the top end of the market: weddings, corporate events, galas and trade fairs across Switzerland, Germany and Austria. His site, in German with an English version, stresses two things that set him apart from a standard magic act: an academic and business background (a Master of Arts with a BWL, or business administration, background) and a stage show that mixes magic with his own pop songs played live on e-piano. For a couple with guests from several countries, the most useful answer is in his FAQ: the whole show program can be presented fluently in English, "auf muttersprachlichem Niveau" (at native-speaker level).

The wedding offer

The homepage has a section called "Exklusive Hochzeiten" and a wedding block that divides the day into three phases: "Empfang: Dezente Nahbereichs-Magie. Dinner: Wunder an den Tischen. Show: Emotionales Highlight." (Reception: discreet close-up magic. Dinner: wonders at the tables. Show: emotional highlight.) The pitch is that he works as a social catalyst, helping guests who do not know one another start talking, and fills waiting times during the day.

Close-up magic is performed directly among the guests, at the champagne reception (Sektempfang) or at the tables. The site calls it elegant, unobtrusive and professional, and says it can include "Persönliche Wunder" (personal wonders) built around the couple's own story. The stage show is the shared highlight for everyone later in the evening.

Formats and durations

The FAQ is specific about timing. A stage show usually lasts between twenty and forty-five minutes. Close-up magic at the reception or dinner can be stretched over one to three hours depending on the number of guests, so that each guest gets a personal moment. The combination of close-up and stage show is, the FAQ says, the most popular booking package for galas and weddings: close-up at the apéro or between courses as an icebreaker, then the interactive stand-up show later in the evening, before the dance floor opens.

Technically, close-up magic needs nothing at all. For stage shows and the musical parts, he usually brings the sound equipment by arrangement, or works with what the venue already has.

Magic and live music

The site's most distinctive claim is the music. As a self-composing pianist, he performs his own pop songs live "mit E-Piano, Gesang und Kick-Drum" (with e-piano, vocals and kick drum), which the site presents as a rare combination of magic and live music. It describes the style of the magic as intelligent and psychologically subtle, and the FAQ promises "keine angestaubten Klischees, keine Hasen und keine Zylinder" (no dusty clichés, no rabbits and no top hats).

Beyond weddings, the site offers formats for birthdays and anniversaries (including mentalism), trade fairs where a brand message is built into the effects, Christmas parties, and street magic and family shows for public events. The site also says German YouTube star Inscope21 and entertainer Knossi have been fooled by his magic, and there is a 90-second image video of the stage and close-up show.

Languages and where he works

Apart from the English show program, the FAQ says his concept is aimed at audiences across the whole DACH region, naming Zurich, Lucerne, Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Berlin. The footer lists Swiss regions from Zurich, Basel, Bern and Lucerne to Lausanne, Geneva, Biel and Chur, along with cities in Germany and Austria and an international list including London, Dubai, Monaco and Liechtenstein. The site gives no home address.

Testimonials

The homepage carries a long block of five-star reviews, mostly in German. The one from a wedding, signed Lucia & Partner, says: "Wir hatten Nick Magic als Hochzeitszauberer gebucht und er war absolut herausragend. Sein Walking Act hat alle Gäste sofort in seinen Bann gezogen." (We booked Nick Magic as our wedding magician and he was absolutely outstanding. His walking act captivated all the guests at once.) Other reviews come from FPT Robotics (technical dinners), the University of Zurich (a Christmas apéro, praising his close-up magic and his "sympatischen und unkomplizierten Auftreten," friendly and easygoing manner), Carpenter AG, Körber (a Christmas party with around 100 guests, where staff enjoyed his card tricks for small groups at the apéro), KYBURZ, Center da Sanadad, a private event and an event in Arosa. One reviewer notes that he engaged personally with guests during his walking act.

Pricing and booking

No prices are published. The FAQ says the fee varies by the type, duration, location and scope of the program, and that he positions himself in the high-end segment for clients who value the highest quality, reliability and a flawless appearance. After an initial non-binding conversation, the client receives a tailored offer. The booking process is laid out: a first inquiry, a short consultation to understand the event, a detailed concept, and then he prepares his part in full.

On timing, the FAQ recommends asking early, because the summer wedding season and the Christmas party months of November and December are busy, though it adds that it is worth sending a short message even at short notice, since dates occasionally free up when events are postponed.

What the site does not settle

The site gives no fee range at all, so a couple cannot judge the budget without a conversation. It does not say whether travel is charged for a venue in the mountains or in another country, or what the music part requires on stage beyond sound. There is a single wedding review, and the reference list leans toward corporate events. The site also does not give a physical address.

Who it suits

Nick Magic suits couples planning a polished, fairly formal wedding who want the classic sequence of close-up magic at the apéro, table magic at dinner and a show before the dancing, and who like the idea of live music as part of the act. The English program is a strong point for international guest lists, and the flexible one-to-three-hour close-up format scales with the guest count.

The caveats are the unpublished, self-described high-end pricing and a reference list that is mostly corporate. Couples on a modest entertainment budget, or who want something low-key, may find the positioning more than they need. For a stylish wedding with international guests, it is a well-documented and flexible option.
