Tabea Vogel
Tap a star to rate
Tabea Vogel is a wedding singer based in Zurich who sings at wedding ceremonies and receptions, with a repertoire running from classic jazz to current pop. Her site, Tabea Weddingsinger, introduces her as a singer from Zurich "mit Berner Wurzeln" (with roots in Bern) who has a lot of live experience behind her, and states that she has accompanied weddings and ceremonies for over 20 years. She also works under the name Tabea Vocal. The site is in German.
Who she is
The home page describes her voice as "unverkennbare Stimme mit viel Soul und Charme", an unmistakable voice with plenty of soul and charm, and her manner as young, fresh and authentic. In her own words, she is booked as a solo artist, a wedding singer, a live act at company events, a studio singer and a backing singer, and her heart beats fully for music in every one of those roles. The styles she names are jazz, blues, soul, funk, gospel, R&B and pop, and she writes that moving people with that music, to dance or to dream, fills her with happiness.
The most concrete credential on the page is her time with the band Härz. For 3 years she toured all over Switzerland as a singer with what she calls the "Powerfrauen", the powerful women, of Härz, and in 2019 she won the Swiss Music Award with them as "Best Breaking Act". She also describes herself as an "ausgebildete Sängerin", a trained singer.
How the wedding offer works
The wedding section is short and puts the couple in charge of the music. "Mit Tabea Vocal entscheidet Ihr selbst, welche Songs am besten zu Eurer Hochzeit passen": with Tabea Vocal, the couple decides which songs suit their wedding best. As a trained singer, she offers to advise on a suitable playlist and brings years of experience as a musician to that conversation. She also writes that she loves reinterpreting well-known songs and surprising people with them, and that she writes her own songs to stir emotions and tell stories from life.
For a couple, that means the planning conversation is about choosing songs together rather than picking from a fixed package. A couple with a particular song for the entrance, the vows or the first dance can bring it to her, and a couple with no idea can ask for her suggestions.
Repertoire
The portfolio section splits the repertoire into two sets, each illustrated with named artists and followed by "uvm..." (and much more).
The first set is jazz and classic material, with Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald and George Benson named. Here she writes that she felt a close connection to classic jazz early on, that with a broad repertoire she can put every guest in the right mood, and that "Dabei können wir stets so leise spielen, dass Sie und Ihre Gäste sich entspannt unterhalten können": the music can always be played quietly enough for the couple and guests to talk in comfort. That is the set for an aperitif or a dinner.
The second set is contemporary and pop, naming Alicia Keys, John Legend, Elvis Presley, Christina Aguilera and Beyoncé, with the note that other well-known pieces are covered too. The page offers audio samples under "Jetzt reinhören" (listen now), so a couple can hear her voice before getting in touch. Neither list says which songs by those artists she actually sings, so a couple wanting a specific title for the ceremony or the first dance should name it in the first message.
Almost everything in both lists is sung in English, which is a practical point for an international wedding: the repertoire itself needs no translation for English-speaking guests.
Booking and contact
Inquiries go through a contact form asking for name, phone, email, the wedding date and a message, or by phone on +41 44 506 78 90, or by email to info@tabeaVocal.ch. The address given is Albulastrasse 34, 8048 Zurich. The button above the form says "jetzt Unverbindlich anfragen", ask now without obligation.
What the site does not settle
The site publishes no prices, no packages and no terms. A couple will not learn from the page what a ceremony slot costs compared with a full evening, whether there is a deposit, or how far ahead to book.
It also leaves the line-up open. The jazz section uses the plural "wir" (we) when it says the music can be played quietly, but the site does not say who plays with her, whether she sings with a pianist, a guitarist, a band or backing tracks, or whether a couple can choose. That affects both the sound and the price, and it is the first question to ask.
Travel is not addressed. The site gives a Zurich address and says nothing about a service area or travel costs, so a couple marrying in the mountains, in Ticino or in the Lake Geneva region should ask. It also does not say what equipment she brings, whether she needs the venue's sound system, or how long a ceremony or dinner set runs.
On language, the site is in German and does not say whether she corresponds in English or can announce songs in English. The repertoire is in English, but the site does not state the working language, so it belongs in the first message.
Who it suits
Tabea Vogel suits couples marrying in or around Zurich who want a solo singer with a professional track record for the ceremony, the aperitif or dinner, and who want to choose their own songs with some expert advice. The mix of jazz standards and modern soul and pop lets one singer cover both an elegant dinner and a more contemporary ceremony. Her award with Härz and her 20-plus years of weddings give a couple a firmer sense of experience than many singers' sites do.
The caveats are the missing prices, the unclear line-up behind her and the absence of any travel information. Couples who want a full dance band for the late evening should treat her as the ceremony and dinner act and plan the party music separately, since the site does not present her as a dance-floor act.
