Anna & Alfred Fotografie
Tap a star to rate
Anna & Alfred Fotografie is a wedding and portrait photography business working on both sides of the Swiss-German border, around Freiburg, Lörrach and Basel. Its homepage presents it as photography for weddings and portraits "in freiburg, basel, lörrach, zürich und der schweiz", and adds that, as photographers with an artistic, journalistic visual style, they are bookable worldwide. The site's descriptions call it a wedding photographer "aus Lörrach", and its portfolio mixes weddings and couple shoots in Basel, Zurich, Freiburg and the Black Forest. For a couple marrying in the Basel region, it is a cross-border option; the website is entirely in German.
How they work on a wedding day
The wedding page, headed "Wie wir auf Hochzeiten arbeiten" (how we work at weddings), gives the practical terms in a few sentences. For a complete wedding reportage they recommend coverage from getting ready to the party. Nothing is set in stone, the page says, and the photographer is happy to stay longer on the day if the couple want it. On Saturdays from May to October the photographer can be booked from eight hours. During the week, shorter bookings are possible.
That is useful to know in advance. A couple planning a Saturday wedding in peak season should budget for a full day of at least eight hours; a couple with a small weekday civil ceremony can ask for something shorter. The page switches between "we" and "I" when it describes the day, so a couple should ask whether one or two photographers will attend.
The wedding page also lists what else they offer around the day.
- Photo albums and prints. Listed as their own section on the wedding page.
- After-wedding shoot. A couple session after the wedding day. The portfolio includes after-wedding shoots in Freiburg and in the Black Forest.
- Engagement or couple shoot. Described as couple photography for people who are smitten, in love, engaged, married or simply sharing a bed. The page says their couples like to use these photos for save-the-date cards and invitations, or simply to get used to being in front of the camera before the wedding.
Beyond weddings, the menu lists family photography, business, job-application and portrait photos, and advertising photography.
The portfolio
The homepage and the weddings page show where they have worked. Swiss entries include a bridal couple shoot in Basel (Victoria and Ingo), family photos in Basel, a wedding styled shoot in Basel, and a wedding in Zurich (Patricia and Thomas) listed among related posts. Most of the other entries are from Freiburg and the Black Forest: wedding reportages at the Henslerhof in the Black Forest (including one at Hinterzarten), at the Lilienhof, at Schloss Ebnet and Schloss Beuggen, couple shoots on the Feldberg and in Lörrach, and weddings at the Kaiserstuhl and the Geiersnest. The weddings page also lists Am Charrewäg, CM Weddings and the Finca Casal Santa Eulalia, and related posts mention weddings at Le Moulin Bas and Le Morimont.
Two styled shoots are featured. One, "Miami Vice", is described as a deliberate break from boho and shabby-chic looks: brighter colors and some neon, with a couple the page calls natural and very much in love. The other was produced with wedding suppliers from the Freiburg region in a loft setting and is labeled as featured in Marrymag.
The wedding page also carries a partner list organized by trade (bridal fashion, florists and decoration, stationery, planning, hair and make-up, celebrants, a venue, a photo booth, a cake maker and music). The names themselves are not given in the text, so a couple who want recommendations for other suppliers should ask.
Planning a booking from abroad
Because the site publishes terms rather than prices, the first message does most of the work. The wedding page's own terms point to what it should contain: the date and whether it falls on a Saturday between May and October (when the eight-hour minimum applies) or on a weekday; the venue, and whether getting ready, ceremony and party happen in one place or several; the number of hours the couple have in mind, or whether they would like the full day from getting ready to the party that the page recommends; and any interest in an album, prints, an engagement shoot before the day or an after-wedding shoot. Adding the question of language and of who will photograph the day saves a round of emails.
Contact and language
Inquiries go through a contact form on the wedding page, headed "Schreibt uns!" (write to us). The site links to Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. There is no email address or phone number in the page text.
The website is written in German only, and it does not say whether they work in English. The phrase "weltweit buchbar" (bookable worldwide) signals a willingness to travel, but language has to be confirmed in the first message.
What the site does not settle
- Prices. No prices are given for weddings, albums, prints or couple shoots.
- Team. The name suggests two people, but the wedding page switches between "we" and "I", and the site does not introduce who photographs a wedding or whether a second photographer comes along.
- Delivery. There is no turnaround, number of images or delivery format.
- Travel to Switzerland. Basel and Zurich appear in the portfolio and in the homepage's list of places, but travel costs are not stated.
- Language. English is not mentioned.
- Booking terms. No deposit or lead time is given.
Who it suits
Anna & Alfred Fotografie suits couples marrying in or around Basel, or on the German side of the border near Freiburg and Lörrach, who want a natural, reportage style and like the look of the portfolio. The published minimum of eight hours on Saturdays from May to October makes it clear this is a full-day booking in high season, while weekday couples have more flexibility. For couples from abroad the caveats are the German-only site, the lack of prices, and the open question of who exactly will photograph the day, all of which a first message should settle.
