BigPics Fotostudio is the photo studio of Patrice Grünig in Wolfwil, in the canton of Solothurn, and weddings are one of its main lines of work. On the studio's wedding page he says he has more than 15 years of experience and has photographed more than 250 weddings, and that he covers the Solothurn, Olten, Bern, Langenthal, Baselland and Aarau regions as well as the rest of Switzerland. The same business owns Fotobox Mietpoint, a photo booth rental service, so couples can book the photographer and the photo booth from one place.
His approach
The wedding page puts his aim simply: "Mir ist es wichtig, nicht nur Bilder zu machen, sondern eure ganz persönliche Geschichte zu erzählen, authentisch, herzlich und mit dem Blick für die feinen Details" (it matters to me not just to take pictures but to tell your very personal story, authentically, warmly and with an eye for the fine details). He records the day as a wedding reportage, with passion and empathy, writing that "Jedes Lächeln, jede Träne der Freude und jede liebevolle Geste werden von mir auf natürliche Weise aufgenommen" (every smile, every tear of joy and every loving gesture is recorded naturally), so that the pictures reflect the atmosphere of the day.
His second site, for wedding photography in the Mittelland, adds a more personal picture. He writes that he has been a full-time professional photographer for over 10 years and lives in the small village of Wolfwil near Olten. He likes to approach people and says he fits in well with a wedding party; guests and couples, he writes, describe him as cheerful, creative and easygoing. He adds that he likes trying new things and wants to keep growing in his work. On reportage, he explains that it is not only about single beautiful pictures but about the whole: unique, sometimes very short moments and small details that couples may not notice on the day, which together tell the story.
Who comes to the wedding
That second site also says how he staffs a wedding. Most of the time he works alone, but depending on the job he may come with his wife or with a partner wedding photographer. Couples who want two photographers should raise it when requesting an offer. The studio's Instagram feed, embedded on the wedding page, shows recent weddings such as a castle wedding in Bubendorf and a day in Zofingen.
The consultation
He places a lot of weight on a personal consultation, for example at his studio, to go through the couple's wishes and ideas. He describes his manner as sensitive and warm, aiming for a relaxed, trusting atmosphere in which couples feel comfortable with him and in front of the camera. On the Mittelland site he adds that trust and liking are a basic requirement for good wedding pictures, that the chemistry must be right, and that the couple should also like his picture style, since every photographer has their own. The wedding page invites couples to arrange a non-binding meeting at the studio in Wolfwil, where the details and an individual wedding photo package are discussed.
Prices, availability and resources
The wedding page links to three things a planning couple will want: a portfolio of wedding pictures, a page of offers and prices, and a list of dates that are already booked ("Bereits reservierte Tage"), so couples can check at a glance whether their date is still open. The menu also has a separate prices page, a wedding album page, customer feedback, references, an FAQ and general terms. The page carries a short piece on 10 reasons for hiring a professional wedding photographer and a PDF of the photographer's tips for your wedding ("PDF Tipps vom Fotograf für eure Hochzeit").
In summary, he tailors the reportage to each couple, offers the design of a personal wedding album as an option, and rents out a photo booth for the guest book.
The photo booth
Fotobox Mietpoint, which the site says is owned by BigPics Fotostudio, rents photo booths for weddings, birthdays, exhibitions and company parties in Solothurn, Basel, Bern and Aargau. A booth with printer starts at CHF 195. The site says prints take 8 seconds per picture, with up to 400 photos per roll, and that the business has over 10 years of experience in photo booth rental. Lighting in different colors and custom layouts for a wedding are available. All pictures go into a personal online gallery for download after the booth is returned or collected, and depending on the model and options, guests can also download pictures by QR code, see a live gallery or receive them by WhatsApp. Pickup of booths is by appointment only. The booth site also has regional pages for Aarau and the Aargau, Baden and the Limmattal, Basel and Baselland, Lucerne and Central Switzerland, Sursee and the Sempachersee, and Zofingen and the Wiggertal.
The reviews shown on that site include wedding couples who booked the booth; one mentions that when their chosen model was already taken on their date they received a different one instead, and that delivery and collection went smoothly.
Contact and language
The wedding site gives Patrice Grünig's contact as Hauptstrasse 13, 4628 Wolfwil SO, phone 079 927 32 39, with a contact form for wedding inquiries. The photo booth business uses the same phone number and lists Stockackerweg 3, 4628 Wolfwil. All three sites are in German, and none of them says whether he works in English, so couples from abroad should ask in their first message.
What the site does not settle
The wedding page itself does not state what a package includes in hours or images, how photos are delivered, or how long editing takes. The offers and prices page is the place to look for those details and the actual figures, followed by the individual offer discussed at the first meeting. Travel costs for weddings outside his home region are not described on the wedding page.
Who it suits
BigPics Fotostudio suits couples in the Solothurn, Olten, Aarau, Basel and Bern area who want an experienced, sociable reportage photographer, a face-to-face meeting before booking, and the option of adding a photo booth from the same business. The published list of booked dates and the prices page make early planning easier. Couples from abroad should allow for a German-language site and confirm English before the consultation.
