Burak Koç

Tap a star to rate

Burak Koç is the owner and managing director of Glamourart Photography, a photo studio in Liestal, Baselland, that serves Liestal and the wider Basel region. He photographs businesses, events, portraits and families, and his site names wedding photography as one of the studio's specialties. The site is written in German and is short: a home page, an about page and an offer page carry almost everything a couple can learn before getting in touch.

What the site says about weddings

Wedding photography sits first on the studio's offer page. The line there reads "Hochzeitsfotografie ist eine Kunst für sich und gehört zum Essentiellen", wedding photography is an art in itself and part of the essentials, so that a couple keeps something of the intimate celebration for a long time. On the home page he returns to it: among the business, event, outdoor, indoor and location shoots the studio offers, "Eine Spezialität liegt sicherlich im Bereich der Hochzeitsfotografie", a specialty is certainly wedding photography, where couples benefit from his expert knowledge and long experience. The home page also mentions Hochzeitsreportagen, wedding reportage, among the work in his portfolio.

That is the extent of the wedding-specific text. The site does not describe a wedding package, the hours of coverage, what a typical wedding day with him looks like or how many images a couple receives. Couples who find the portfolio appealing will need to ask for the detail directly, which is not unusual for a small Swiss studio but worth knowing before you start.

Background

The about page tells his story in a few lines. He has been fascinated by photography since childhood. At 8 he had his first analog camera, at 14 he took his first photography course at school, and at 18 he could afford his first digital camera and began photographing people. At 22 he was working as a volunteer party photographer in the nightlife scene, and he says he has stayed with it ever since. The profile box gives his experience as 31+ years. The site's list of reasons to choose the studio states that people have been getting professional images from Glamourart Photography for more than 20 years.

What excites him most, he writes, is the technical side, including post-processing in Lightroom and Photoshop, and the endless ways of catching the right image at the right moment. He later set up his own studio, which he says has been steadily improved, renewed and further equipped since.

The studio in Liestal

Much of the site is about the studio itself. He writes that shooting in the Liestal studio guarantees optimal light for excellent pictures, and that its private atmosphere helps clients come out of themselves and set aside any nerves. For a wedding couple the studio is less relevant than the day itself, but it could suit a pre-wedding or post-wedding portrait session, particularly for couples who feel awkward in front of a camera.

One practical note is printed on the home page: all photo appointments are by prior arrangement only. There is no walk-in service, so every contact starts with a message or a call.

Other services

The offer page lists four further formats. A studio shoot promises pictures made under the best conditions in very little time. An outdoor shoot takes place in the city or in nature. An on-location shoot stages the client, their places and their objects. A tattoo-model shoot is aimed at people who want to show off their ink. The home page adds business, event and nude photography to that range. For wedding couples this breadth matters mainly as a sign that he is used to working both in a controlled studio and out in the open, which is what a wedding day demands.

What he promises

The site gives six short reasons to choose the studio, and they are the nearest thing to a service description:

  • Experience. More than 20 years of professional images.
  • Transparent prices. Shoots are sold at a package price, which the site says protects clients from hidden costs.
  • Fast processing. A quick service from the inquiry to the edited photos.
  • Service. Uncomplicated and professional from the quote through the shoot to the editing.
  • Personal care. A friendly approach around the pictures, so that the shoot is fun.
  • Special wishes. A flexible way of working that lets clients raise their wishes openly; the home page adds that a fitting solution will be found for special requests.

Contact and booking

Contact is by email at info@glamourart.ch or by phone on 078 614 55 62, a Swiss mobile number, and the site has a contact page. The footer also links to terms and conditions (AGB). There is a partner page in the menu as well.

What the site does not settle

The site publishes no prices. It promises package pricing but does not list a single package, for weddings or anything else. It does not say how long delivery takes beyond calling the processing fast. It does not describe a wedding package, the number of photographers, a pre-wedding meeting, a deposit or cancellation terms.

For a couple from abroad the biggest gap is language. The site is entirely in German and says nothing about English or any other language. It also does not say whether he travels beyond the Basel region for weddings; the studio describes itself as serving Liestal and the Basel region, and that is all a reader can go on. A couple marrying elsewhere in Switzerland should ask about travel before anything else.

Who it suits

Glamourart Photography suits couples marrying in or around Liestal and Basel who want a local photographer with a long personal history in the craft, a studio for an extra portrait session and a promise of package pricing. The site speaks directly to clients who are nervous in front of a camera, which some couples will find reassuring.

It suits less well a couple who need to see a detailed wedding offer before making contact, or who do not speak German. The wedding text on the site is thin, and every practical question, from price to language to travel, has to be settled by email or phone. That is an easy first step, and the phone number and email are right on the home page.
