Carol Müri

Tap a star to rate

Carol Müri is a photographer from Aarau who photographs weddings, destination weddings, pregnancies, newborns, families and personal branding shoots, in Switzerland and worldwide. Her home page is written in German with English menus and headings, and it leads with a line in English: "A Photograph Is The Pause Button Of Life." For couples planning a wedding abroad, or a Swiss wedding with guests flying in, her portfolio of work in Italy, on Fuerteventura and in South-East Asia is the main point of interest.

How she describes herself

She introduces herself in four words: "Abenteuerlustig. Echt. Gefühlvoll. Intuitiv." (adventurous, genuine, full of feeling, intuitive). She writes that she accompanies couples, families and entrepreneurs in Switzerland and worldwide, from weddings and destination weddings to pregnancy, newborn and personal branding shoots, always with an eye for real moments and stories that feel true. The promise underneath is short and specific: "Keine gestellten Posen, kein Druck. Nur Bilder, die bleiben." No posed shots, no pressure, only pictures that last.

A detail that matters for wedding couples: several of the stories on her home page speak of "wir" and "unseren Kameras" (we, our cameras), and the one wedding story names Andy alongside her. The testimonial from that wedding thanks "Carol & Andy" as photographer and videographer, and one portfolio heading reads "Photo & Video". So the site shows her working with a second person who films, at least on some jobs. It does not explain how photo and video are booked or priced together.

The wedding stories

The home page carries a section called Stories from around the globe, and the wedding example is a destination wedding in Italy. Janine and Dominik chose the Villa dei Cipressi in Sona for their wedding. It began with a relaxed get-together on the Friday, with pizza and Moretti beer, followed by an emotional ceremony among olive groves with everyone close to them. She writes that by the time of the personal vows, Andy and she had tears in their eyes too, and she describes two days at the villa full of feeling and attention to detail.

The other stories are not weddings but show how she works. A couple shoot in the sleepy surf town of Lajares on Fuerteventura, filmed as well as photographed, built the couple's skating and surfing into the session; she writes that the two hours were pure fun and that it remains one of her favorite couple shoots. On Koh Tao in Thailand she saw a mother, her son and her own mother on the beach, stepped out of her comfort zone and asked if she could photograph them. In Bali she shot a branding session with Sina for the label Saha House, and a baby shoot; in Sri Lanka, a portrait session with Zoe in a jungle cabana at a place called PALM. The baby story adds a practical thought: there is no perfect moment for a baby shoot, but she particularly likes babies at three to four months, when their personality begins to show.

What clients say

The Kind Words section quotes four clients in German. Janine and Dominik, the Italy wedding couple, write that the pair photographed and filmed "mit so viel Herz, Feingefühl und Leidenschaft" (with so much heart, sensitivity and passion), and that their calm, loving manner made everything natural and real: "Nichts gestellt, nichts übertrieben, einfach schön", nothing staged, nothing overdone, simply beautiful.

Lara and Ursin, a wedding couple, describe Carol as relaxed, warm and easygoing, with a lightness that creates a pleasant atmosphere at once, and say their wedding photos are "Erinnerungen voller Emotion, Freude und Liebe" (memories full of emotion, joy and love). Melanie and Sandro, after a pregnancy shoot, thank her for recording those moments with love, calm, trust and skill, and say they want to work with her again. Jenni, a personal branding client, writes that Carol carried out her wildest ideas, guided her through the shoot and kept the organization relaxed and uncomplicated.

The common thread across all four is the same quality she claims for herself: a calm presence that lets people forget they are being photographed. That consistency is more telling than any single line.

Contact

The footer gives an email address, carol.mueri@me.com, and a Swiss mobile number, +41 79 293 15 21, and there is a Contact me button and a contact page in the menu. She is on Instagram as @carolmueri.photography. A newsletter sign-up on the home page offers news of promotions and updates. The menu also links to Lovestories, Family, Personal Branding, About and Info pages.

What the site does not settle

The home page publishes no prices, no packages and no delivery times. It does not say how a booking is confirmed, whether a deposit is taken, or how travel to a wedding abroad or elsewhere in Switzerland is charged. For destination weddings, that last point matters: flights and accommodation for a photographer, and possibly a videographer, can shift a budget noticeably, so ask for the travel terms in writing.

On language, the page text is German, while menus, some headings and the tagline are English. The site does not state which languages she works in on the day. A couple who do not speak German should confirm that in the first message.

The site also leaves open how photo and video work together: whether Andy films every wedding, whether video can be booked without photography, and what either costs.

Who it suits

Carol Müri suits couples who want natural, unposed pictures from a photographer who is used to working abroad, and who might like film from the same small team. A Swiss couple marrying in Italy or further afield, or an international couple marrying in Switzerland with a relaxed, personal celebration in mind, fits the stories she chooses to show. Her testimonials suggest she is good with nervous people and with family moments as well as couples.

She suits less well a couple who need a detailed price list before inquiring, or who want a large-production, heavily directed wedding shoot; everything on the site points the other way. The home page shows one wedding story in full, so couples wanting to see more complete weddings should look at the Lovestories page or ask for full galleries.
