Christian Bromley
Tap a star to rate
Christian Bromley is a professional photographer in Geneva who covers weddings in Geneva, the neighboring cantons and the rest of French-speaking Switzerland. His home page says he has worked with more than 200 companies and hundreds of private clients over 20 years, mostly in portraiture, and that he is a member of SIYU Romandie (formerly USPP), a professional photographers' association. His wedding page is one of the most complete in the region: packages, hourly rates, options, travel costs, deposit, delivery times and even the expected number of photos are all published. It is in French.
The approach
The wedding page is built around one idea, preparation. Its line is blunt: "Le jour J, tout va vite. Ce qui n'a pas été préparé se perd." On the day everything moves fast, and what has not been prepared is lost. Before the wedding he meets the couple to set the rhythm of the day, the key moments, the important people, the places and what they really expect, and to agree on the style of pictures. On the day, one or two photographers cover the wedding as reportage. He says each wedding is prepared, photographed and retouched by him personally, without automation or AI.
The page describes how each part of the day is handled: the ceremony caught discreetly without breaking its rhythm, couple portraits guided naturally so they stay elegant without looking stiff, and the aperitif, dinner and spontaneous moments covered attentively without intruding. On weather, the FAQ says the preliminary meeting is where a plan B gets worked out: a covered place for portraits, moving group photos indoors, adjusting the timing.
The four packages
All four include the preliminary meeting, professional processing of the delivered images, a password-protected online gallery for one year, and full archiving of the photos.
- Festive, from CHF 350: ceremony to the vin d'honneur with 1 photographer, charged at CHF 350 for the first hour and CHF 250 for each hour after. It covers the religious or civil ceremony, couple portraits, group photos and the vin d'honneur. Delivery in 10 days to 3 weeks.
- Exquise, on quotation: ceremony to aperitif with 1 photographer, adding the exit from the ceremony. Makeup is an option. Delivery in 10 days to 3 weeks.
- Enchanteresse, on quotation: ceremony to the start of dinner with 2 photographers, with the first hour of dinner, a password gallery, and makeup for the ceremony and the evening included. Delivery in 2 to 3 weeks.
- Royale, on quotation: the full day from the bride's and groom's preparations to the opening of the dance, with 2 photographers and makeup for ceremony and evening included. Delivery in 2 to 3 weeks.
For a sense of the total, the FAQ says a complete wedding with 2 photographers generally comes to between CHF 2000 and 4000.
Hourly rates and options
With one photographer the first hour costs CHF 350 and each following hour CHF 250; this is described as ideal up to 50 guests. With two photographers the first hour is CHF 400 and each following hour CHF 250, recommended above 50 guests so that two things can be covered at once, such as both sets of preparations, or the party and portraits during the aperitif. A second photographer can also be added to the smaller packages. Staying on past the package, to the end of the party, costs CHF 250 per hour.
The options list is priced too: beauty retouching at CHF 50 per photo, a wedding photo book at CHF 300 with extra 20×25 copies at CHF 100 each, a mini photo studio set up at the wedding for CHF 150, and CHF 50 per image for commercial use. Travel within Geneva costs CHF 50, and outside the canton the rate is CHF 1 per kilometer. The FAQ says weddings in Vaud, Valais, Fribourg and in the neighboring part of France are entirely possible.
How many photos, and when
The FAQ gives a rule of thumb of about 50 to 80 processed photos per hour of coverage, and says a full-day Royale wedding generally delivers between 400 and 700 final images, sorted, retouched and grouped by moment. Delivery is 10 days to 3 weeks after the wedding, depending on the package.
Makeup
The bride's makeup is done by a partner, the professional makeup artist Juliette Joly in Geneva, whose own site is linked from the page. Makeup for ceremony and evening, with trials for the bride, is included in Enchanteresse and Royale. For the other packages it is an option: from CHF 250 for the bride, trial and wedding day, and from CHF 80 per bridesmaid. For a couple flying in, having hair and makeup settled through the photographer is one less supplier to find.
Booking and payment
The quote form asks for the date, ceremony and reception venues, estimated guest numbers, a start time, the expected duration, the package and the moments to cover; the page promises a reply within 24 hours and a free quote with no obligation. After the meeting a contract is signed with a 30% deposit to hold the date. The FAQ states that the deposit is not refunded if the client cancels, and the balance is paid on delivery of the photos. He advises booking 6 to 12 months ahead, especially for May to September, Saturdays and public holidays, and says lead times can be shorter between November and March.
Contact is by phone or WhatsApp on +41 76 679 74 33, or through the form. His High-Key Studio is at Chemin des Aulx 3, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, a 120 m² space with a 36 m² cyclorama, and he has a second space in Plainpalais in the city center.
What the site does not settle
The site is in French and does not say whether he works in English. Package prices other than Festive are on quotation, so a couple still needs a quote to compare Exquise, Enchanteresse and Royale. The page mentions verified reviews collected on an independent platform but does not show them.
Who it suits
Christian Bromley suits couples marrying around Geneva or in French-speaking Switzerland who want to budget precisely: hourly rates, travel, options, deposit and delivery are all on the page, which is rare. The partner makeup and the choice of one or two photographers make it easy to scale the booking to the wedding. It suits less well couples who need an English-language contract or who are marrying far from Geneva, where the per-kilometer travel charge adds up.
