Herzpaar

Tap a star to rate

Herzpaar is the wedding and couples photography of Reto Lieberherr, based in Ebnat-Kappel in Toggenburg, in the canton of St. Gallen. He calls himself a specialist in mountain weddings, and his pages cover Toggenburg, St. Gallen, Appenzell, Thurgau and eastern Switzerland in general. For a couple dreaming of vows at an Alpine lake or on a summit in the east of the country, he is a photographer who knows the paths and the light there and says he will help plan the ascent.

The mountain wedding specialty

The main wedding page is built around mountains. As a Toggenburger, he writes, he is at home in the mountains and specializes in recording a wedding "genau dort festzuhalten, wo die Aussicht den Atem raubt" (to record it exactly where the view takes your breath away), whether it is an intimate ceremony or a big celebration. He names Säntis, Chäserrugg, Hemberg and the Selun as settings, and says he knows when the light is at its most golden. The FAQ answers the obvious worry, how much work a mountain wedding is: with a bit of planning, not much, because he helps with the location, the timing and the ascent so that the couple can simply enjoy the day, whether it is an intimate elopement or a celebration with family and friends.

A separate page on mountain weddings and elopements is aimed at couples "die lieber Sonnenuntergänge zählen als Programmpunkte" (who would rather count sunsets than program items). It opens with the idea of a mountain wedding as pure freedom: just the two of them, the wide Swiss Alps and a moment that binds them for good, whether an intimate elopement at the Seealpsee or a celebration with loved ones on an alp. It describes an elopement as an intimate wedding for two or a very small group, often at a special place in nature, and says he accompanies the whole day and photographs it unposed. He writes that he knows the paths in the Alpstein and Toggenburg and plans the ascent, timing and light with the couple. His favorite places on that page are Säntis, Seealpsee, Chäserrugg, Ebenalp, Schwägalp and the Churfirsten.

The regional pages

Each regional page names places he likes to photograph and answers two questions.

St. Gallen: from the old town to the shore of Lake Constance. He names the baroque Stiftsbezirk, the Drei Weieren above the city, the Altstadt, the lake, Notkersegg and the Alpstein, and says he photographs a ceremony and party there with a feel for architecture, light and real emotion, in town, in the green or by the water. He also offers to take couples up into the nearby mountains for portraits. He says he knows the most photogenic corners of the Stiftsbezirk and the quiet moments away from the tourists, and that he reaches St. Gallen from Toggenburg quickly, so travel and local knowledge are not an issue.

Appenzell: Seealpsee, Ebenalp, Hoher Kasten, the Alpstein, the village of Appenzell and Schwägalp, for a traditional village ceremony or an elopement high on the mountain. Asked about mountain weddings at the Seealpsee, he says he plans timing and ascent with the couple so the pictures happen in the best light.

Thurgau: the Lake Constance shore, Schloss Arenenberg, vineyards, Frauenfeld, the Kartause Ittingen and Romanshorn. He mentions the soft evening light on the lakeshore at golden hour, and covers the whole canton, from Frauenfeld to the lake, and the neighboring parts of eastern Switzerland. He likes to combine the calm of Thurgau with the drama of the nearby mountains.

What he offers

The wedding page lists eight services.

  • Hochzeitsreportage: he accompanies the couple unobtrusively and reliably through a free, civil or church ceremony, and they receive many carefully selected and optimized photos, the number depending on the time booked.
  • Engagement-Shooting: he recommends one to every couple, to get to know each other, to get used to the camera, and for invitation or save-the-date cards.
  • Hochzeitsvideo: on request he books a wedding film with the support of the team from Kraftwerk-Bilder, a name his footer also lists under "Mehr von mir" (more from me).
  • Online-Galerie: a password-protected gallery is always included, and guests can reach their favorite pictures by QR code or link, which also works on a thank-you card.
  • Fotoalben & Wandbilder: albums and prints on canvas, acrylic or wood.
  • Photobooth: a photo box for digital images or prints.
  • After-Wedding-Shooting: for couples who missed a location, or who married in winter and want summer pictures.
  • Second Shooter: a second photographer for the key scenes from two angles and getting-ready in two places.

Booking

Every page ends the same way: write a few words about the day, the date, the place and what you are looking forward to, and he replies personally, with an answer within 48 hours and a no-obligation first meeting. Contact is info@herzpaar.ch.

What the pages leave open

The wedding and regional pages do not list prices, although the site menu has a page called "Investment" that couples can check. They give no delivery time, no guide to how many photos each length of coverage yields, and no album prices. The site is in German, and it does not say whether he works in English, so a couple from abroad should ask in their first message.

For a mountain wedding, the practical questions go beyond the photos. The pages say he helps with location, timing and ascent, but they do not describe what happens when the weather closes in, whether a backup date or indoor option is part of his planning, or how guests who are not used to mountain paths get up to a place like the Seealpsee. Those are worth raising early, together with travel costs to venues outside eastern Switzerland, which the pages do not mention.

Who it suits

Herzpaar suits couples planning an elopement or small wedding in the Alpstein, on the Churfirsten side of Toggenburg or at the Säntis, and couples in St. Gallen, Appenzell or Thurgau who want portraits with mountain scenery nearby. The combination of local mountain knowledge, a photo booth, a second shooter and a video team through the same contact makes it a one-stop option in the region. The caveats are that prices sit on a separate page, and that the language question and the weather plan for a mountain day need to be settled directly.
