Larissa's Photographie

Tap a star to rate

Larissa's Photographie is the studio of Larissa Stock, a photographer who grew up in Appenzell and works from her own studio in the heart of the town. She photographs weddings, couples and engagements, pregnancies, families and newborns, and her wedding page promises love in pictures that is natural, real and timeless. For couples, the most useful figure on the site is a clear starting price: an 8-hour wedding reportage from CHF 3,400.

Who she is

Her about page introduces her as "Storyteller, Photographer, Romanticist" and sums her up in three words: "Familienmensch, Adrenalinjunkie, Romantikerin" (family person, adrenaline junkie, romantic). She grew up in Appenzell with her parents and older brother. She writes that she hates sitting still and is always looking for new adventures and projects, but also has a quiet, romantic side: she loves long, deep conversations and sunset walks, and admits she cries at every love film and sheds a tear at almost every wedding. In March, she writes, her daughter was born, and she now combines photography with being a mother.

Larissa discovered photography as a passion in 2019. In August 2021 she opened her own studio in Appenzell, which she describes as a place to work creatively and to tell couples' and families' stories together with them. Her philosophy is headed "Echte Momente, echte Erinnerungen" (real moments, real memories): she wants to record not just moments but the feelings behind them, the atmosphere and the small, often overlooked details that tell a story. Her aim, as she puts it, is to make visible the feelings that a couple would otherwise only sense. She sees photography less as a technique than as a form of communication that can carry emotions and keep memories for a lifetime, and she calls talking through plans with couples and creating memories together a deep passion rather than just a job. Her "where you can find me" list completes the picture: traveling to discover the world, enjoying the last rays of sun with a glass of wine, hunting for the best food, and spending time with her small family and the people who matter most to her.

The wedding day

Her wedding page starts from the idea that every wedding is different and every couple has its own story, and her goal is to show a couple's love as it is: real, unposed and full of emotion. The homepage adds that she covers both an intimate ceremony and a big celebration. The wedding page then walks through the day in order. Getting ready is about anticipation: she photographs the dress going on, loving looks and the happy tension before everything begins. The first look, private or in front of guests, is a moment she promises to keep alive in pictures. At the ceremony, civil, free or in church, she records the first steps down the aisle, the smiles, the rings, the tears of joy and the first kiss as a married couple. At the celebration, whether an elegant dinner or a relaxed garden wedding, she photographs the speeches, laughter and dancing. And at the afterparty she stays into the late hours, when the dance floor shakes and the last inhibitions fall.

Her way of working is summed up in four points on the page: real, unposed wedding photos with attention to detail; personal coverage from the civil ceremony to the afterparty; staying "Unauffällig und leichtfüssig im Hintergrund" (unobtrusive and light-footed in the background); and adapting to the couple's wishes and needs.

Price and booking

The wedding page gives one package price: 8 hours of reportage from CHF 3,400. It does not break down what that includes, such as the number of images, delivery method or time, or travel costs. Prices for the other sessions are not given on these pages.

Above the form she invites couples to write and secure their wedding date. The inquiry form on the wedding page asks for the couple's names, email, phone, place of residence, the wedding or preferred date, the wedding location and how they would like to be contacted: by phone, email or WhatsApp. It ends with an invitation to tell her as much as possible about the couple and their plans. She can also be reached at larissas_photographie@hotmail.com or 078 651 06 77, and on Instagram as @larissas.photographie. The studio address is Rütistrasse 6 in Appenzell.

One practical point for anyone planning soon: a notice on the site says she is on maternity leave until the end of July and takes no appointments during that time, but still welcomes inquiries for later dates and asks for patience with replies. The notice does not name the year, so couples should check her current availability when they write.

Other sessions

Beyond weddings, she offers couple and engagement shoots, which she suggests for an engagement, an anniversary or simply as a keepsake; pregnancy shoots outdoors or in the studio; family shoots outdoors or in the studio; and newborn photography, which she prefers to do in the family's own home so the pictures are made in familiar surroundings. The menu also lists branding work and gift vouchers. A couple shoot is a natural way to get to know her before the wedding.

The homepage has a playful counter: 123 cups of coffee, 34 new couples, 18 rings exchanged, 35 tasty cakes and 43 ceremonies. It gives a rough sense of her wedding experience so far, and of her humor.

What the site does not answer

Beyond the 8-hour price, the site does not state what a wedding booking includes, how many images couples receive, when the gallery is delivered, or how travel outside Appenzell is charged. The testimonials section on the homepage shows no reviews. The whole site is in German, and it does not say whether she works in English, so couples from abroad should ask in their first message.

Who she suits

Larissa suits couples marrying in Appenzell and the surrounding region who want an emotional, unposed reportage of the whole day, from getting ready to the afterparty, from a warm and open photographer who clearly enjoys weddings. The published 8-hour price helps with early budgeting. The caveats are the German-only site, the limited detail on what the package includes, and the maternity-leave notice, which makes it worth confirming availability early.
