MDupont Photography is the studio of Marjorie, a wedding and family photographer based in Rue, in the canton of Fribourg. Her wedding page is titled "Photographe mariage Fribourg", and it opens with a personal introduction: she calls herself a photographer, but above all "une grande sensible", a deeply sensitive person. What she loves most, she writes, is catching the beauty of a moment that is not staged: a look, a gesture, an emotion passing through. For couples who dread posing, that is the core of her pitch.

Her approach to a wedding day

Marjorie is frank that a wedding is wonderful but also stressful, between the planning, the suppliers, the timings and the surprises. Her answer is what she calls "une bulle", a bubble: a moment held apart from the rush of the day, where the couple can simply be themselves, without pressure and without a mask. The photos are the record of that bubble.

She describes herself not just as a photographer but as a gentle presence alongside the couple, discreet but attentive, and sums up the role in three words: "Une oreille, un regard, une alliée" (an ear, an eye, an ally). She adds that she knows how much couples fear that something will slip past them on the day, that it will all go too fast, and that her job is to make sure it does not. The list of what she wants to catch is specific: quiet tears, bursts of laughter, tender looks, hands reaching for each other, children running around, the details of the decoration, the surprises and the fits of giggles. It reads like a reportage photographer's shot list rather than a posing plan.

The practical questions she answers

A useful part of her page is a set of answers to the questions couples ask most.

Before or after the ceremony? She says there is no right answer. Some couples see each other first in a private moment away from the crowd; others keep the surprise for the ceremony and do couple photos afterward, when they are more relaxed. She adapts to the couple's rhythm.

What if it rains? She argues that rain photos can have real charm (a clear umbrella, a dress in the wind, an embrace under gray skies), and she always plans a Plan B with the couple: a covered place, a sheltered corner, soft light.

What to wear? On the day, the wedding outfits are the stars. For an engagement session before the wedding or a "day after" shoot, she helps couples choose looser clothes in natural colors and soft textures, clothes they can move and laugh in.

How long do photos take? She insists photos should never become a chore. A couple session can last 30 to 40 minutes, depending on what the couple wants, and longer if it takes place before or after the wedding day.

Where? She writes that it all depends on the couple's story; perhaps a corner of nature speaks to them more than a castle. She can suggest locations, but believes the best setting is the one where the couple feels at ease: a patch of nature, a street from childhood, a favorite forest, somewhere that means something to them.

Packages and prices

The page lists every package with its price:

  • Coup de Foudre. Civil ceremony, CHF 300 for the first hour, then CHF 150 per additional hour.
  • Romance. 3 hours: ceremony, couple photos and group photos, CHF 700.
  • Tendresse. 5 hours: ceremony, couple photos, group photos and the apéritif, CHF 1400.
  • Passion. 10 hours: ceremony, couple and group photos, apéritif and dinner, CHF 2400.
  • Devotion. 14 hours: everything above plus the getting-ready of the couple, CHF 2900, with extra hours at CHF 150.

The page also announces a promotion: the civil ceremony is offered free ("PROMO : cérémonie du civil offert"). It does not say whether that applies to every package or for how long, so ask.

For budgeting, the step from Tendresse to Passion is the one that adds the dinner, and only Devotion covers the preparations in the morning. A couple who wants getting-ready photos needs the longest package, or should ask whether it can be added to a shorter one.

Booking

She proposes a first meeting, "simplement", by phone or over a coffee, so she can understand who the couple are, what they love and what matters to them. If the feeling is right, she will take the booking. Her promise at the end of the page is short: "Des images qui racontent votre journée avec sincérité" (images that tell the story of your day with sincerity), memories full of meaning, and a caring, personal service.

What the page does not settle

The page is in French only and says nothing about English or German. Couples from abroad should ask in the first message whether she works in English, and for a meeting by phone if coffee in Rue is not practical. The site does not say whether she travels outside the Fribourg region or charges for travel, how long it takes to deliver the photos, how many images a package includes, or whether an album is available. It gives no deposit or booking terms.

Other work

Weddings are one part of her business. The menu also lists maternity, newborn and family photography, mini shoots and other events, and the footer describes the studio as specializing in portraits and family sessions. Couples who want to stay with one photographer for later family photos have that option.

Who she suits

Marjorie suits couples marrying in the Fribourg region who want a calm, discreet photographer and natural images rather than long posed sessions. Her published prices make her easy to budget for, and the entry-level civil ceremony package is a practical choice for a small registry-office wedding.

The caveats are language and scope. The site is French-only, which matters for couples who do not speak French, and it does not say what is delivered in each package. Couples who want a strongly directed, editorial style may find her approach too hands-off, and should say so at the first meeting.
