mhoch2 Photography is the business of Martina, a wedding photographer from the Schaffhausen region. Her site's title places her in "Schaffhausen | Zürich | Schweiz", and her homepage is built entirely around weddings: an introduction, a gallery of "Lovestories", three short sections on how she works, and reviews from past couples. Her pitch is simple and useful for anyone who dreads a long photo session: memorable pictures do not need hours of shooting, and the celebration and the couple come first.

Her introduction

Martina opens with a friendly note in German, starting with an English word, "Congratulations", on the couple's wedding plans. She writes that whether the wedding is with family and friends or just the two of them, traditional or not ticking every cliché, what matters is that it suits the couple. That openness is worth noting for couples planning something small: her introduction explicitly includes weddings held just for the two of them, not only large family celebrations. As their photographer, she says, she does everything she can to make them feel at ease on the day, and she records their best moments discreetly and stylishly, as part of the celebration rather than a separate program.

The line that sums up her approach is "Für unvergessliche Erinnerungen braucht es keine stundenlangen Shootings" (lasting memories do not need hours-long photo shoots). For a couple who wants to spend the day with their guests rather than away from them, that is the key sentence on the page.

What she looks for

Under a heading about keeping the unobserved moments (Die unbeobachteten Momente festhalten), she describes the kind of pictures she is after. The couple seeing each other for the first time on the wedding day, the surprised expression on their faces, a quick wink in between, a hearty laugh: she lists these as the moments she will keep for them. She says she loves catching the small things that often go unnoticed but still mean a lot to the couple.

Coverage on the couple's terms

The second section is headed Den ganzen Tag an eurer Seite (by your side all day), but the point it makes is about choice rather than length. The couple decides when the wedding photography starts and ends. It can begin early in the morning with the getting ready, or later at the ceremony. If the couple is unsure what would suit them, she offers advice, and together they draw up a photography plan for the day.

That flexibility matters for budgeting and planning. A couple holding a small civil ceremony and a lunch may want only a few hours; a couple with a long day of preparations, ceremony, apéro and dinner may want her from morning to evening. The site does not publish the price of either, so the plan and the quote go together.

Relaxed on the day

The third section, Entspannt und mühelos durch den Tag (relaxed and effortless through the day), deals with what happens when the day does not go to plan. Every wedding, she writes, is a small adventure: will the timeline hold, will everything run as planned? As a photographer she is prepared to adapt to the situation and photograph every moment, so the couple can concentrate fully on the celebration.

What past couples say

The homepage shows 3 reviews, all in German, and a Google rating of 5.0.

Annigna and Chris had an engagement shoot with her first and knew straight away they wanted her at their wedding. They write that they felt "sofort unglaublich wohl vor der Kamera" (immediately incredibly comfortable in front of the camera). Since the wedding they have booked her again for pregnancy and family shoots, and they regularly recommend her to friends.

Marlies and Dominik say they could not have imagined better company for the day. They were grateful for the many tips and help she gave them before the wedding, which let them feel completely at ease on the day itself. Their summary is short: it simply fit, and they noticed that from the very beginning.

Natascha and André met her through a spontaneous couple shoot, which they describe as "super ungezwungen" (very relaxed), and found the photos very natural. At the wedding, they write, "Martina genauso ein Teil der Gesellschaft wie auch aufmerksame Fotografin" (Martina was as much part of the party as an attentive photographer), and they never felt followed by a camera. They call booking her for the wedding the best decision they made.

Two points stand out from these reviews. Two of the three couples met her first through an engagement or couple shoot, a route other couples can take too. And the pregnancy and family shoots mentioned by Annigna and Chris show that she also photographs couples after the wedding, so it is not strictly weddings only.

Language and contact

The site is in German, with a few English touches, such as the opening congratulations, a Get in touch heading and the Lovestories gallery. It does not say whether she works in English. The contact email is hello@mhoch2.ch, there is a contact page in the menu, and she is on Instagram as @mhoch2_photography.

What the site does not settle

The homepage publishes no prices and no packages. It does not say how many photos a couple receives, how they are delivered or how long it takes, whether albums are available, or whether she brings a second photographer. It does not say how far she travels beyond Schaffhausen and Zurich. The menu has an Angebot (offer) page and an Über mich (about me) page, which couples should read before writing, and the first message should cover the hours they have in mind and their language.

Who she suits

Martina suits couples marrying in the Schaffhausen and Zurich area who want natural, unposed pictures, short portrait sessions and a photographer who blends in with the guests. Couples who feel awkward in front of a camera will find her reviews reassuring, and couples who like the idea of an engagement shoot first can use it to get to know her.

The caveats are the lack of published prices and the German-only site. Couples from abroad should ask about English early and request a quote based on the hours they want.
