MihociStudios is an internationally awarded wedding photography and videography studio working since 2005, shooting destination weddings in 55+ countries on Leica digital equipment, 35mm film, Super 8mm and 16mm cinema. Its published calendar of 2026 wedding destinations lists Switzerland in April, May, June, July, August and September, alongside Italy, Croatia, France, Spain, Germany and the USA. The site gives no Swiss address; the company named in its footer is Art Atelje d.o.o.
Who Runs It and How It Presents Itself
The site describes MihociStudios as an Academy degree wedding studio, led by a graduated art photographer and a video director, and says it has been named among the TOP 20 BEST Wedding Photo & Video Studios worldwide. The two people named in the contact block are David Mihoci and Ena Mihoci, and the portfolio carries a "SIGNATURE Ena+David" section as well as a separate "MihociStudios Crew" section, which indicates that not every wedding is shot by David and Ena personally. Which team a given booking gets is worth asking about up front.
The studio's stance is stated plainly on the homepage: "We don’t document weddings. We direct them." That is the opposite of a fly-on-the-wall documentary approach, and couples should take it at its word. The tagline repeats the idea, promising a wedding directed like a film and kept as a legacy. At the same time the studio writes that it gives emphasis to authentic moments and emotions and attaches major importance to composition and aesthetics, and that it wants couples portrayed exactly as they are, but in the most beautiful way. The result it describes is a fine art and editorial style, with direction used to shape the frame rather than to invent the moment.
Formats: Digital, Film and Cinema
The format choice is the studio's main distinction. The homepage headline reads "OFFICIAL LEICA SHOOTER + 8MM & 16MM CINEMA", next to "HIGH PRODUCTION & BROADCAST DIGITAL + FILM PHOTOGRAPHY". Each medium has its own portfolio section: wedding photos, wedding videos, 35mm wedding film photography, Super 8mm and 16mm wedding cinema, and reels and content creation.
On 35mm film, the site calls it "a quiet celebration of time" and says "Each click of the shutter is deliberate". It credits film with "depth, grain, and a palette of colors that feel alive and true" that digital cannot replicate. On Super 8mm, it promises "true grain and a raw, uniquely cinematic color palette", with the day recorded "with a soft, nostalgic touch". The videography section describes each frame as "a motion picture frozen in time", catching "the soft brush of a hand, the sparkle in an eye, the rhythm of celebration", with every shot composed in an editorial way.
For a couple, the practical point is that film and digital are presented as distinct offerings. Whether a wedding can combine them, and how that changes the price, is not explained.
Portfolio and Press
The journal lists recent weddings at Villa Bettoni, La Quinta Desert, Santa Barbara, Son Marroig in Mallorca, Crete in Greece, Finca Morneta, Castello di Velona in Tuscany and a luxury wedding in Montenegro. None of the listed recent weddings is in Switzerland, so couples who want to see Swiss work, such as an alpine or lakeside wedding, should ask for a gallery.
The press list is long: Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Brides, Bride Magazine, Tatler, the Los Angeles Times, Daily Mail, The Sun, The Mirror, The Knot, ISPWP, W, WPO, Junebug, MSW, Condé Nast, Wezoree, Wedvibes, Style Me Pretty and Wedlux, with Vogue Germany, Vogue India and British Vogue named in a second list. The site also says the studio is trusted by royalty, world champions and global icons, but names no clients.
Other Services
Beyond weddings, the menu covers engagement and portrait sessions, commercials (including a project for the European Union), education and masterclasses, and a shop that sells WeddingBooks, photosessions, education and mentoring, fine art prints, Lightroom photo presets and LUT video presets. The WeddingBooks are the one physical product the site ties directly to weddings.
Booking from Abroad
Contact runs through WhatsApp, a live chat with David, and email. The site lists a phone number and an email address for each of David Mihoci and Ena Mihoci, and a contact page. The whole site is in English, so couples from abroad will have no language barrier at the inquiry stage. Because the studio travels to weddings rather than working from a Swiss base, it suits couples who are used to briefing a supplier by message and video call.
What the Site Leaves Open
The site publishes no prices, packages or minimum booking. It does not say how travel costs to Switzerland are charged, whether photography and video are booked together or separately, how many hours a wedding day covers, what the delivery time is, or how many edited images are delivered. It does not give cancellation or deposit terms. The destination calendar shows where the studio expects to be in each month, but not whether specific dates are still free. All of this has to come from a direct inquiry.
The calendar also matters for couples planning outside the summer. For January to March the studio lists Austria, Italy, Croatia, France and the USA, and from October to December its listed destinations are the USA, Italy, Croatia, Mexico, Spain, Germany, France and the Caribbean. Switzerland does not appear in those months, so a winter wedding in the Alps or a late autumn date would mean asking whether the studio will travel outside its published schedule, and on what terms.
Who It Suits
MihociStudios suits couples who want an editorial, fine art result, who like the idea of a directed shoot, and who are drawn to film photography or Super 8mm cinema as part of the record. The press list and the Leica and cinema formats position it at the high end. With Switzerland on the calendar from April to September 2026, a spring, summer or early autumn wedding fits the studio's stated schedule.
It is a less obvious fit for couples who want a photographer who knows their Swiss venue from repeat visits, for couples who prefer pure documentary coverage with no direction, and for couples working to a fixed, modest budget, since nothing on the site suggests an entry level. Couples should also confirm which photographers will attend, given the distinction between the signature Ena and David work and the crew.
