MSCHWEIZER Fotografie

Tap a star to rate

MSCHWEIZER Fotografie is the studio of Maria Schweizer, a photographer from Aarau in the canton of Aargau. The homepage carries "EST 2009" and sums up her style as "natürlich, authentisch, zeitlos" (natural, authentic, timeless). She photographs weddings alongside family, baby, pregnancy, portrait, application, corporate and event photography. For a couple planning from abroad, the site's most useful feature is a full wedding price list, with hours, travel allowance and what is delivered.

Her Approach on the Day

The homepage line that frames her work is "Ihr dürft euch zeigen wie ihr seid, ohne euch verstellen zu müssen - nur so entstehen die schönsten Bilder" (you can show yourselves as you are, without pretending; only then do the most beautiful pictures happen). On the wedding price page she describes herself as a discreet companion, a calm presence and a helping hand on the day, so that the couple can relax and enjoy it. She works "dezent im Hintergrund" (discreetly in the background) to catch authentic, natural emotions, and writes that couples should feel at ease with her, because only then do unposed photos happen.

That does not mean she never guides. During the couple shoot she gives tips on posing, helps arrange the train of the dress, and makes sure group photos are done efficiently so that the couple has enough time for their guests. She aims to record both the loud and the quiet moments: the first look, wild dancing, funny mishaps, warm hugs, tears of joy that might otherwise go unnoticed.

She also says she loves details: color-matched table decorations, flower arrangements, a basket of flip-flops and paper fans, close-ups of the wedding rings, special place cards, guest gifts, something borrowed from mom. Her line on them is "Diese kleinen, aber feinen Dinge, die liebevoll ausgewählt wurden, darf man nicht vergessen" (these small but fine things, chosen with love, should not be forgotten).

The Wedding Packages

The price page lists 4 wedding packages, each with a stated duration and a travel allowance for the return journey:

  • Wedding Bronze, CHF 600. 1.5 hours, including 20 km return travel. The page describes it as ideal for a civil ceremony at the registry office, couple photos, some group photos and candid shots from the aperitif.
  • Wedding Silber, CHF 1400. 4 hours, including 40 km return travel. More time for couple and detail photos; she covers the ceremony, the aperitif, the guests and requested group photos.
  • Wedding Gold, CHF 2100. 6 hours, including 60 km return travel. Time for couple photos with a few changes of location or subject, details such as rings, dress and bouquet, witnesses and family joining the couple shoot, several group photos, and the festive mood in the evening.
  • Wedding Platin, CHF 2700. 8 hours, including 100 km return travel. She covers the preparations, the first look, the ceremony and the aperitif, couple photos at several locations, group photos with all guests, and the emotional moments of the evening party.

Each package is listed with "50+ Bilder pro Stunde" (50+ images per hour). Every further kilometer beyond the allowance costs CHF 1. If the duration a couple needs is not listed, she will make an individual quote. The prices are stated as valid for bookings from 01.01.2026, subject to change.

One scheduling rule matters for summer weddings: on Saturdays in the wedding season, June to September, she only takes wedding bookings of 3 hours or more. So the 1.5-hour Bronze package is not available on a Saturday in those months.

What Is Included

Every wedding package includes a personal preliminary meeting. All photos are delivered in color, in a second color variant and in black and white, at high resolution (at least 4800x3200 px) and print quality (300 DPI), as JPG files by download link. The info page answers the image-count question directly: on average about 50 photos are made per hour, and depending on the location, the weather and any special performances there can be considerably more.

Planning Advice on the Info Page

The wedding info page reads like a short planning guide. She wants to meet the couple before the wedding to understand their wishes, go through the timeline and settle open questions. For weddings under 2 hours a phone call is usually enough; for longer ones she prefers to meet in person. The couple decides when she starts, whether at the preparations, just before the ceremony or at the party after the civil ceremony, and she likes to arrive 15 minutes early to look at the surroundings.

She recommends doing the couple photos before the church or civil ceremony, while hair, makeup and flowers are still fresh, and allowing at least 45 minutes, noting that detail shots of the bouquet, rings, dress and suit are often forgotten in the rush. The shoot takes place wherever the couple chooses (a park, a castle, an industrial area, a garden), outdoors in natural light if possible; in bad weather it can move to her studio, or she brings lights for indoor photos. Her last point is communication: couples should tell her openly what they like, what they do not want, and when they need time alone.

Languages and Getting in Touch

The site is written entirely in German and does not say whether she works in English, so couples from abroad should ask in their first message. The site names Aarau, Lenzburg, Brugg, Solothurn and the whole of Switzerland as her area, and gives her studio address on the Schlossplatz in Aarau and the phone number 076 448 82 78. There is a contact page and a page of general terms (AGB).

What the Site Does Not Settle

The site does not say how long editing takes, whether albums or prints are offered, whether video is available, or whether a second photographer can be added. Deposit and cancellation terms are not described on the wedding pages; the AGB page is the place to check them before booking.

Who This Suits

Maria Schweizer suits couples who want natural, lightly guided photographs and like knowing the cost in advance. The Bronze package fits a civil ceremony with a short aperitif, Silber and Gold cover a ceremony and reception, and Platin follows the whole day from the preparations to the evening. Couples marrying in Aargau and the neighboring regions benefit from the included travel; those further away can work out the extra kilometers at CHF 1 each. The main open question for an international couple is language.
