Tap a star to rate

Patrick Photography is a Swiss wedding photography business that presents its work region by region, with dedicated pages for Graubünden, St. Gallen, Lucerne and Aargau and a statement that it travels throughout Switzerland wherever the couple says yes. The style it describes is natural and emotional reportage. What sets the site apart for a couple planning from abroad is how much venue and hotel information it packs into those regional pages.

What the wedding offer includes

The Graubünden page ends with a short list under "Das erwartet euch" (what to expect), which is the clearest summary of the service:

  • an individual preliminary conversation, by phone or in person
  • flexible packages, from a small shoot to a full-day wedding reportage
  • professional post-processing of the images in the photographer's own style
  • an online gallery for guests and family
  • optionally, a wedding album and high-quality prints

The phone option for the first conversation is useful for couples who live abroad and cannot easily travel for a meeting.

Approach

Each regional page repeats the same few promises in slightly different words. On the Graubünden page: local experience of the best photo spots, whether by the Walensee, on an alpine meadow or in a charming mountain hotel; an emotional visual language, "nicht gestellt, sondern so wie ihr seid" (not posed, but as you are); personal support from the first conversation to the handover of the images; and working discreetly in the background without disturbing the couple. The St. Gallen page puts the last point as "Ich bin da, ohne aufzufallen – aber immer zur richtigen Zeit am richtigen Ort" (I am there without standing out, but always at the right time in the right place). The Lucerne page describes the reportage as authentic, detail-loving and full of emotion.

Graubünden

The Graubünden page names Davos, Klosters and Arosa, Chur, which it calls "die älteste Stadt der Schweiz" (the oldest town in Switzerland), Heidiland and the Surselva, along with castles, alpine hotels and forest clearings. It then lists hotels by resort: in Flims the Me and All Hotel and the Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof & Spa; in Laax Peaks Place and the Rocksresort; in Davos the Hilton Garden Inn and Hotel Waldhuus; in Lenzerheide the Maiensässhotel Guarda Val and the Kurhaus Lenzerheide, described as suited to larger wedding parties; and in Arosa the Waldhotel and the Home Hotel.

A second section covers quieter valleys: the Art Nouveau Kurhaus Bergün, Hotel Piz Ela and Hotel Weisses Kreuz in Bergün, hotels in Surses such as Hotel Piz Mitgel and Hotel Berghuus Radons, Hotel Edelweiss Sur below the Alp Flix, Hotel Alpenblick in Tenna, and two historic churches for ceremonies in the Surselva, Tenna with Gothic frescoes from 1408 and Thalkirch. The page closes with the promise that the photographer knows these places personally, "Ob bei Nebel über der Alp Flix oder im Sonnenschein vor dem Kurhaus Bergün" (whether in fog over the Alp Flix or in sunshine outside the Kurhaus Bergün).

The blog adds an article, "Die 15 schönsten Hochzeitslocations in Graubünden – Heiraten inmitten der Schweizer Alpen", dated 20 April 2025. It lists Schloss Maienfeld in the vineyards of the Bündner Herrschaft, the medieval Hohen Rätien castle complex at Sils im Domleschg, the Davaz winery in Fläsch, Schloss Reichenau at the confluence of the Vorderrhein and Hinterrhein, the Bergkirchli in Arosa, which it calls one of the oldest wooden churches in Switzerland, the Kurhaus Bergün, Thalkirch in the Safiental, Schloss Wartenstein in Bad Ragaz, the Gartenatelier in Domat/Ems, the Madrisa-Hof in Serneus, the Alp Flix, the Swiss National Park at Zernez, Val Mora near Müstair, the Maiensässhotel Guarda Val in Sporz and the Segantini hut on the Maloja Pass.

Lucerne, St. Gallen and Aargau

The Lucerne page names the old town and lakeside promenade, Schloss Meggenhorn, the Bürgenstock Resort and Villa Honegg, the Rigi and Pilatus, and country inns in Emmen, Kriens or Weggis, with photo spots from the Kapellbrücke to the Bireggwald. Its hotel list includes the Hotel des Balances and the Art Deco Hotel Montana in town, Park Weggis and the SeeHotel Gotthard in Weggis, and tips such as Schloss Heidegg in Gelfingen, Schloss Mauensee and the Alpwirtschaft Unterlauelen in the Eigenthal.

The St. Gallen page covers the cathedral and old town, Lake Constance at Rorschach, Arbon and Romanshorn, the Appenzell area at Teufen, Speicher and Weissbad, Schloss Wartegg and Schloss Weinstein, and inns and farms around the Säntis. Hotels named include the Einstein and the Radisson Blu in St. Gallen, Bad Horn, which the page says has its own boat, Hotel Wunderbar in Arbon, the Romantik Hotel Säntis in Appenzell and the Hotel Hof Weissbad. The overview page describes Aargau as castles, nature and charming country weddings, and sums up Graubünden as dream mountain backdrops, romantic alpine huts and winter weddings, which is worth noting for couples considering a snow wedding. On the St. Gallen page the photographer also claims local roots, knowing the region, its venues and the light of eastern Switzerland.

Language and contact

The site is written in German, and one blog post has an English title ("The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Perfect Wedding Photographer"), but it does not say whether the photographer works with couples in English. Couples from abroad should ask in their first message. Contact runs through the site's contact page, and there is an Instagram link.

What the site does not settle

The regional pages publish no prices, and they do not say how many hours the packages cover, how many images are delivered, or how long editing takes. They do not say where the photographer is based, how long the business has been running, or whether a second photographer is available. The site also refers to the photographer as "Hochzeitsfotograf" on the regional pages and "Hochzeitsfotografin" on the overview page, so couples may want to confirm who will actually photograph their wedding. Travel costs for a remote alpine venue are another point to settle before booking.

Who it suits

Patrick Photography suits couples who want natural, unposed coverage and are still choosing where to marry, particularly in Graubünden, where the site's lists of hotels, churches and alpine venues work as a starting point for planning. The flexible packages, from a short shoot to a full-day reportage, leave room for a small ceremony as well as a larger hotel wedding. Couples who need prices or English-language confirmation before a first call should write early.
