A Photographer Who Also Helps Plan

Ralph Huber is a wedding photographer based in Schaffhausen who has photographed weddings since 2020, trading as Ralph Huber Storytelling. His homepage names Zurich, Thurgau, Schaffhausen, Bern, Lucerne and eastern Switzerland as places he works, adds everywhere else, and says he will go beyond the Swiss border if a couple wants. A second page speaks directly to couples marrying in the Zurich region. For a couple planning from abroad, the useful thing about him is that he pitches himself as more than the person with the camera: he offers to help with the planning as well.

His central promise is short and specific. In the page's words, "Ihr müsst nichts darstellen, nichts spielen und nichts kontrollieren" (you don't have to put on a show, play a part or control anything), and nobody has to worry about behaving correctly in front of him. They can be in love, nervous, loud, quiet, wild or completely calm, and while they live the day he takes responsibility for the pictures. He says he gives reassurance when it is needed, holds back when a couple needs space, and is there when a moment happens that will not come back. The result he promises is not a perfect show but an honest story.

What the Offer Covers

The planning help is spelled out on the homepage. He writes that he accompanies couples from the start: he helps with planning, recommends reliable suppliers from his network and draws up a timeline together with the couple, so they can enjoy the day without anything left to chance. His reasoning is that when a couple feels safe and at ease, the real moments he is there to photograph follow.

Beyond the wedding day itself, the site's navigation has separate sections for a wedding album (Hochzeitsalbum) and a photo booth (Fotobox), next to a section on services and packages (Leistungen & Pakete). So a couple can source photography, an album and a photo booth from one person. The reviews bear this out. Livia & Josuah write that they booked "das volle Programm" (the full program) and would do it exactly the same way again, and Ellen & Michael say they also got the photo booth through Ralph and that the service, the organization and the photos were all excellent.

Livia & Josuah also mention a "Kennenlernshooting", a getting-to-know-you shoot before the wedding, which took the edge off their nerves ahead of their civil and church ceremonies. The FAQ lists a question on whether he offers a preliminary meeting (Vorgespräch), and the contact section invites couples to get in touch without obligation, because, as he puts it, chemistry matters in more than love.

Weddings on the Site

The portfolio section shows weddings at named places: Vivien & Roman at Moschti Stäfa, headed as a wedding on Lake Zurich; Tanja & Stefan at Schupfen in Diessenhofen, a wedding right on the Rhine; Nicci & Yvonne at Komturei Tobel in Thurgau; and Devi & Silvan at the Juckerfarm in Seegräben. The reviews add Kundelfingerhof (Livia & Josuah), Alphittä Nätschen, where Carla & Lutz held a celebrant-led ceremony in the mountains (a "Freie Trauung"), Gasthaus Schupfen (Ellen & Michael) and Aspenäs Hergard in Sweden (Martina & Mikael).

The Zurich page sketches the kinds of wedding he expects there: on Lake Zurich at Moschti Stäfa, at the Stadthaus in the old town, on a vineyard in the Zürcher Weinland or in the Zürcher Oberland. He writes that what he records are not the places but the moments in between: the look before the vows, the laughter at the apéro when no one is paying attention to the camera, the quiet minute in the evening.

What Past Couples Say

The reviews on the site are long and consistent. Devi & Silvan write that his images "strahlen eine unglaubliche Wärme und Natürlichkeit aus" (radiate an incredible warmth and naturalness), that he had the schedule firmly under control, and that he fitted so well into the wedding party that their guests gave only positive feedback. Vivien & Roman describe the feeling of having a long-time friend accompany them through the day, and say his support went well beyond photography. Livia & Josuah list the details he caught: whether the bow tie sat right, whether the train lay nicely, whether the bride's father had taken the phone out of his trouser pocket. Martina & Mikael thank him for traveling with them to Sweden and say it felt as if he had long been part of their circle of friends. Carla & Lutz note that he was already on hand with advice before the day.

Language and Contact

The site is written in German, and neither page says which languages he works in. A couple who does not read German should ask about English in the first message. Contact runs through a contact form or directly via WhatsApp, both linked from the site, and his Instagram account is @ralphhuberstorytelling. No email address or phone number is printed on the pages themselves, so the form or WhatsApp is the way in.

What the Site Leaves Open

The FAQ is a list of the right questions: whether he works across Switzerland, how many weddings he has photographed, how far ahead to inquire, whether he offers a preliminary meeting, from when until when to book him, whether the photos are edited, how many images a couple receives, how they receive them, how long delivery takes, and whether couples need to be able to pose. The answers are not shown in the page text, so a couple should expect to put these to him directly.

The homepage and the Zurich page give no prices, either for the day or for the album and photo booth, and gives no coverage hours or image count. It does not say whether travel within Switzerland or abroad is charged, or what deposit and cancellation terms apply. For a destination couple those are the first things to settle in writing.

Who It Suits

Ralph Huber suits couples who want a photographer involved well before the day: someone to recommend suppliers, work out the timeline and keep the day running, then photograph it without directing every moment. His coverage of Zurich, Schaffhausen, Thurgau and beyond, and a wedding in Sweden among his reviews, make him a realistic option for a couple marrying anywhere in the German-speaking north and east of the country, and for Swiss couples marrying elsewhere in Europe.

He fits less well for couples who want to compare published packages and prices before a conversation, or who need an English-language site to plan from. The German-only pages and the absence of an email address mean a first contact through the form or WhatsApp, and a direct question about language, rates and delivery.
