Zoé Jobin

Tap a star to rate

Zoé Jobin is a photographer based in Yverdon-les-Bains who photographs weddings and families alongside her main work in food, crafts and documentary photography. Her About page says she currently lives between Cambodia and Switzerland, and her contact page puts it as "Je vis entre Yverdon-les-Bains et Phnom Penh" (I live between Yverdon-les-Bains and Phnom Penh). The same About page describes her as a professional photographer for 10 years. The site is in French.

Her approach to weddings

The wedding page is a single paragraph, and it is clear about what she is after. She calls herself a wedding photographer in French-speaking Switzerland ("Suisse romande") who likes to put her creativity at the service of the day. Her aim is natural, spontaneous pictures that reflect the small and large moments of the day: details, looks, atmospheres. She writes that she tries to blend into the setting so that people forget her, to get pictures of true moments.

A second page, on wedding and family photography, goes further. She says what interests her most is "les liens, les gestes invisibles, les instants qui échappent à la mise en scène" (the bonds, the invisible gestures, the moments that escape staging), those that say something true about a relationship, a presence, a story. Her way of seeing, she writes, was built on a documentary approach, close to people and to what they live through, "sans artifice ni posture" (without artifice or pose). At a wedding or a family shoot she wants to tell what is really happening: the softness of a moment, the lively disorder of a day, the quiet intensity of emotions.

For a couple, this means a reportage style with little direction. Couples who want a long list of posed group pictures should discuss it with her, since the site does not describe a portrait session or group photos.

A documentary photographer first

The About page explains the rest of her work. She moves between several worlds that she cares about: culinary photography, showing craft and know-how, and documentary photography and reportage. She wants to show the richness of craft trades, particularly in gastronomy, and to document real life and people for companies, foundations and institutions. Her approach, she writes, rests on "la rencontre, l'écoute et le partage" (meeting, listening and sharing), and every project is above all a meeting, a story to discover and tell. She became a photographer, she writes, out of a tireless curiosity about life and people, and whether she is showing a restaurant's work or covering a social subject, her aim is always to convey what is truest: "l'humain et l'émotion" (people and emotion).

Her client list includes the town of Yverdon-les-Bains, the Fondation Bois-Gentil, the Fondation du Levant, Espaces Proches, the Association du Développement du Nord-Vaudois, Mobimo for the Flon district, UBS, Banque Piguet, the Distillerie Wanner, Pépé Bistro and Unit 8. Her work has appeared in Femina, Le Matin Dimanche, Le Temps and Coopération.

She also exhibits. In 2025 she showed a solo exhibition, "Women Riding Phnom Penh", for International Women's Day at Pépé Bistro in Phnom Penh, and in 2024 she took part in two group shows in Phnom Penh, Phsar Art and the Samaki Exhibition of the Phnom Penh Photography Collective. Her menu has sections for gastronomy, documentary, free series and a section called "Entre-vous".

That background is relevant to a wedding: her galleries of restaurants and craftspeople show the eye for details that she names on the wedding page, and her reportage work is built on the same aim of staying out of the way.

Where she works

The wedding and family page says she is based in Yverdon-les-Bains but travels willingly within the canton of Vaud or further ("dans le Canton de Vaud ou plus loin"). The contact page is broader still: "Je me déplace volontiers où que vous soyez..." (I'll gladly travel wherever you are). Given that she divides her time between Switzerland and Cambodia, the first question for any couple is whether she is in Switzerland on the wedding date.

Contact

The contact page gives the email address zoejobin55@gmail.com, which is the simplest route from abroad, a Swiss phone number, +41 (0)78.733.11.42, and a Cambodian one, +855 (0)10.223.903. There is no booking form and no online calendar, so the date has to be asked by email or phone.

What the site does not settle

The site publishes no prices, packages or hours of coverage for weddings or family shoots. It does not say how many images a couple receives, how they are delivered, how long delivery takes, or whether prints or albums are available. There is no wedding gallery described on the wedding page and no reviews from couples, so a couple should ask to see a complete wedding.

It does not say which languages she works in. The site is in French, and her exhibitions have English titles, but that is not a statement about working with couples in English, so an English-speaking couple should ask. Travel costs for weddings outside Vaud are not mentioned either.

Questions to ask her

Because the wedding pages are short, a first email should ask for the practical side in one go: whether she is in Switzerland on the date, what a wedding booking covers and costs, how many hours she stays, how the photos are delivered and when, and whether she can work in English. It is also worth asking to see a full wedding gallery and a family session, and whether she offers a family shoot around the wedding, since her wedding and family work sit together on one page.

Who it suits

Zoé Jobin suits couples in Vaud and French-speaking Switzerland who want a quiet, documentary record of the day, with attention to details, food and the people around them rather than posed portraits. Her work for institutions and the press shows a professional who is used to real situations. It suits less well a couple who wants a wedding specialist with published packages, a large wedding portfolio and reviews, or who needs certainty about her availability far in advance, given that she lives part of the time in Cambodia.
