A small collection in Corpataux, built around weddings

Despont Oldtimer is a small prestige and classic car business run by Loïc Despont from Route du Petit-Bois 28 in Corpataux, in the canton of Fribourg. It rents out four cars, runs a chauffeured wedding service, and on the side rents car trailers and transports vehicles. The site's headline service line is "Location de voitures de prestige & Transport de mariés" (prestige car rental and transport for newlyweds), and for weddings the star is a Citroën Traction Avant, which Despont says is intended mainly for couples about to marry.

The About page is written in the first person. Loïc describes himself as passionate about cars since childhood and wanting to share that world, both with connoisseurs and with the merely curious. What drives him, he writes, is the chance "de contribuer, à ma manière, à la réalisation de l'un de vos rêves ou de vous faire vivre un souvenir inoubliable" (to contribute, in my own way, to making one of your dreams come true or giving you a memory you will not forget). He calls the Traction "une parenthèse, une bulle vraiment unique" (an interlude, a truly unique bubble) for the wedding day, and he chose the Dodge Viper, "un modèle rare et de caractère" (a rare model with character), for those who prefer something sporty.

The cars and their prices

The homepage shows three cars with starting prices, each marked "dès" (from):

• Citroën Traction Avant (classic): from CHF 650 for 4 hours.
• Bentley Continental GT (grand touring): from CHF 450 for 12 hours.
• Dodge Viper GTS (sport): from CHF 400 for 6 hours.

A fourth car, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, appears in the vehicle list, the gallery and the booking form, but no price for it is shown on the pages. The price structure itself says something: the Traction, the wedding car, is priced by the half day and includes a chauffeur, while the Bentley and the Viper are priced over longer periods. The site does not say whether those two can be booked with a chauffeur for a wedding or only as self-drive rentals, so it is worth asking.

The wedding service

The wedding page promises "Chauffeur professionnel inclus pour un service impeccable" (professional chauffeur included, for an impeccable service), and lists what the service covers:

• Décoration florale: the cars are decorated to the couple's theme and colors, with fresh flowers and elegant ribbons.
• Séance photo: the cars can serve as a backdrop for the wedding photographs.
• Cortège de mariage: several of the company's cars can form a wedding procession.
• Itinéraire sur mesure: the route between church, reception and photo locations is planned together.
• Service premium: attention to the smallest details.

The booking process has four steps. First contact, to discuss the couple's wishes, the date and the place. Then a visit to see the cars in person and choose one ("Essayez-les", try them). Then planning of the route, timings and decoration. Finally the day itself, when "Notre chauffeur s'occupe de tout" (our chauffeur takes care of everything). The contact form promises a reply within 24 hours and asks for the preferred vehicle and the type of event, with options for a wedding, a corporate event, a pleasure drive, a photo shoot or something else. The homepage frames the whole offer under the line "L'Élégance à Votre Service" (elegance at your service), for weddings, events and getaways.

Commitments, and one review

The About page sets out four commitments: excellence, with each vehicle "méticuleusement entretenu et préparé" (meticulously maintained and prepared); trust, with "Transparence totale, assurance complète et accompagnement personnalisé" (full transparency, comprehensive insurance and personal support); punctuality, with the promise "Livraison et service toujours à l'heure" (delivery and service always on time); and a tailored service, adapted to each request. The site shows one review, from Marie & Thomas, for a wedding in September 2025: "Un service absolument impeccable ! La Citroën Traction était magnifique pour notre mariage. L'équipe a été aux petits soins du début à la fin." (An absolutely impeccable service. The Citroën Traction was magnificent for our wedding. The team looked after us from start to finish.) The gallery has a Mariages filter with a good number of wedding photos, alongside pictures of each car.

Trailers and car transport

The other half of the business is for car owners. Despont rents two car trailers: a closed aluminum Turatello F35 with a hydraulic ramp, carrying up to 2200 kg, from CHF 250 per day; and an open Balhanger BT23 with a tilting steel bed and an integrated winch, carrying up to 2500 kg, from CHF 125 per day. Each has a deposit of CHF 1'000, and straps and loading equipment are included. The trailer page names Fribourg, Lausanne, the canton of Vaud, Geneva and French-speaking Switzerland more broadly as its area. The car transport service offers pickup at home, secure transport and delivery anywhere in Switzerland.

What the site does not settle

The site does not say how far the wedding service travels from Corpataux or how travel is charged, or what the "dès" prices exclude, such as decoration, extra hours or a longer route. It gives no cancellation terms on the pages read here, though it links to its general terms. The Traction's seating is not stated, which matters if a couple want witnesses or parents aboard.

Who it suits

Despont Oldtimer suits a couple marrying in the Fribourg area or elsewhere in French-speaking Switzerland who want a classic car with a chauffeur, decoration and a planned route, from a small business where the owner is personally involved. The Traction is the natural choice for the ceremony, and the option of a procession with several cars helps if the wedding party wants to arrive together. It suits less well a couple who want a large fleet to choose from, or who need a firm total price before first contact, since the published figures are starting prices. For those willing to visit the cars in Corpataux before deciding, the process is refreshingly personal.
