A chauffeured wedding arrival by Rolls-Royce or Bentley

Hochzeit Oldtimers is a chauffeured wedding car service based in Zug, run by Regula Gerber, who drives the cars and hosts the couple herself. The fleet on the site is three cars: a 1950 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, a 1973 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I and a 2021 Bentley Bentayga. The service covers the drive to the ceremony, a shuttle between church and reception venue, or an accompanied photo tour through the region, and the site says it plans each ride around your own schedule.

The homepage sums up the arrangement: from pickup to arrival at the place you choose, the company accompanies you personally. In the owner's own words, she loves both these occasions and her classic cars, and is glad to accompany couples "als Gastgeberin & Fahrerin" (as host and driver). That is the defining feature. You are not renting a car and not dealing with a dispatch desk; the person who answers your inquiry is the person behind the wheel on the day.

Weddings are the main business, but the site also lists milestone birthdays, business events and styled photo shoots. The contact block adds general classic car drives (allg. Oldtimerfahrten) to the wedding name.

The three cars

The Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith from 1950 is the most formal of the three. The site says it is sought after not only in royal households but above all for wedding drives, and that its timeless elegance gives every wedding "einen royalen Auftritt" (a royal entrance).

The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow I from 1973 is pitched for private and business events alike. The site's description reads "Klassische Linienführung trifft auf komfortablen Innenraum für zwei bis vier Personen," which means classic lines meet a comfortable interior for two to four people. That is the only passenger figure the site gives for any of the cars.

The Bentley Bentayga from 2021 is the modern option. The site stresses its comfort and engine power and calls it ideal if you want to combine modern luxury with style. A couple who wants a Rolls-Royce look for the photographs and something newer for a longer drive has a choice within one company, but the site sells each ride with one car and does not describe booking two at once.

The site says all its cars are restored and well kept. It does not describe cabin equipment such as air conditioning, and it does not give seat counts for the Silver Wraith or the Bentley, so ask about both if you plan to bring a parent, a child or a bridesmaid along, or if your wedding falls in high summer.

Prices and what is included

Unusually for this category, the price page publishes a rate table. Wedding and experience drives are charged by the hour, with the rate falling as the booking gets longer:

  • up to 2 hours, CHF 275 per hour
  • 3 to 5 hours, CHF 250 per hour
  • 6 to 8 hours, CHF 225 per hour

For bookings of 3 hours or more, 30 minutes of travel time is included. The FAQ on the same page adds that travel time is calculated from Zug. The page states that driver and host are included in every package, and that the team takes time throughout the drive for individual wishes, whether a spontaneous photo stop or a change of route.

The extras are few and priced:

  • standard floral decoration, CHF 70
  • custom floral decoration, charged by effort plus 20%
  • the Genusspaket, CHF 70

The Genusspaket is described as a glass of champagne or mineral water, small treats and something sweet for the nerves, meant for the gap between ceremony and photo shoot, a moment to breathe before continuing to the venue. The page also says that because every occasion is different, it welcomes an individual request if none of the standard options fits.

Where it drives

The site says the business is based in Zug and at home across central Switzerland, "Von Zürich über Luzern bis nach Schwyz" (from Zurich via Lucerne to Schwyz). Beyond that it accompanies couples Switzerland-wide, naming a wedding at the Bürgenstock, in Rapperswil or an outing as far as St. Moritz, and says it will check whether it can reach your chosen location. With travel time charged from Zug, a far venue will show up in the price, and the page does not give a per-kilometer rate, so ask for the full quote including travel before you book.

Booking, language and what to ask

You reach the business through the contact form (first name, last name, desired date, message, email, phone), by email at contact@hochzeit-oldtimers.ch, or by phone on the number listed on the site. The site promises a reply as quickly as possible with details on availability, schedule and the right car. It also says the team takes your wishes on route, decoration and timing before the booking.

The website is written only in German, and nothing on it says whether the owner works in English. A couple who does not speak German should ask that in the first message, in English, and judge from the reply.

Several things are left open. The price page carries FAQ headings such as how far in advance to book, but the answers are not shown on the page, so there is no stated lead time. The footer links to terms and conditions (AGB), which is where deposit and cancellation rules would sit; read them before confirming. The site does not mention airport pickups, and it gives no guidance on steep or narrow access roads, which matters if your venue is up a mountain road.

Who it suits

Hochzeit Oldtimers suits a couple marrying in central Switzerland, or willing to pay for the drive to reach them, who wants a formal classic car with a personal host rather than a self-drive rental. The published hourly rates make it one of the easier services to budget for from abroad: you can work out the base cost of a two-hour or a five-hour booking before sending a single email.

The caveats come from the same strengths. With the owner as driver and host, the site describes one person, not a team, so a popular summer date may already be taken; ask early. Only the Silver Shadow has a stated passenger figure, and for German-language communication there is no English page to fall back on. For a couple who wants the arrival and the photographs to feel personal, those are small costs.
