Limousine Hire

Tap a star to rate

Limousine Hire is a chauffeur and transfer service that takes bookings online for rides across Switzerland, and one of its service lines is a wedding limousine service. The site is written in English, with a language switcher for Russian, German, French, Spanish and Italian, and it shows prices in Swiss francs, euros, British pounds or US dollars. For a couple planning from abroad, few listings in this category are easier to use without German.

The wedding service

The wedding page says the company provides chauffeured transport "between locations for both the bride and groom and the wedding party," covering hotel and venue transport and reception transfers, designed around your timeline and personal choices. It names Zurich, Geneva and Lucerne and says it serves "all Swiss locations."

The page lists what comes with a wedding booking: complimentary bottled water, Wi-Fi and "a wedding-themed vehicle." A later section spells out the decoration: the team can personalize the car's appearance "by adding flowers, ribbons and other decorations that match the wedding theme." If you need more than one car, the page says the company can supply models and colors that suit your needs, so a matching convoy for the couple and the wedding party is something to ask for.

Two statements speak to the worry every couple has about hired transport. The page says you can hire the service "for as much as you need it, without stressing about time restrictions," and that a private chauffeur "would be at your service the whole time." The booking form on the same page offers two modes, one-way trips and "By The Hour," with durations selectable from 2 to 24 hours. A car that stays with you from the hotel to the ceremony, the photos and the reception is therefore bookable, and the hourly form is the way to do it.

The cars

For the wedding itself, the page offers its first-class cars, "Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 or similar," and for couples who want an electric arrival, cars from its Electric Class, "Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X or similar." The page's opening paragraph also mentions stretch limousines, without naming a model.

The homepage lists the full fleet by class: Premium Economy (VW Passat or Golf or similar), Business Class (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Audi A6 or similar), Business Van (Mercedes V-Class), Electric Class (Mercedes EQE, Tesla Model X, Model S, Model Y or similar), Luxury Class (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Audi A8) and Premium MPV, a "Mercedes-Benz Sprinter for 15 people." That last vehicle is useful for moving a group of guests from a hotel to a venue in one run. The "or similar" wording on most classes means you book a class, not a specific car, so ask if a particular model or color matters for the photographs.

Booking, prices and cancellation

Booking is done online. The FAQ describes the process: enter pickup and destination with date and time, click to book, compare prices and choose from the available vehicles for those details, add your contact details and pay online, after which a confirmation email follows. So prices are shown per trip in the booking tool rather than on a published tariff page. The homepage promises "No hidden extra charges," and the wedding page claims "the best prices," which is marketing rather than a figure. The page does not say whether wedding decoration or extra cars are priced in the tool or quoted separately.

The cancellation rule is stated plainly in the FAQ: you can cancel a ride up to 6 hours before pickup without extra charges, and for rides longer than 250 km the cutoff is 24 hours before pickup. For guests flying in, the FAQ says chauffeurs monitor real-time flight status and adjust automatically if a flight is delayed or canceled, and that the driver waits at the terminal with a nameplate.

The site lists airport transfer pages for Basel, Bern, Geneva, Zurich, Milan Malpensa, Friedrichshafen and Memmingen, and city transfer pages including Davos, St. Moritz and Lausanne. For a destination wedding, that means the same company can collect guests at the airport and then drive the wedding day itself.

Contact is through the booking tool, a contact form, email at info@limousinehire.ch or 2 phone numbers listed in the footer. The homepage mentions round-the-clock service support.

The blog

One blog post on the site, about why couples in Basel and Zurich choose private chauffeurs, repeats the wedding pitch in general terms: space for "the bride's elaborate dress," airport transfers for out-of-town guests, and travel between several venues. It describes the kinds of cars couples favor in general, including vintage limousines, a Rolls Royce Phantom and a Bentley Flying Spur, but it does not say these are in the company's own fleet, and none appears in the fleet list. Book from the fleet list, not the blog.

What the site leaves open

The site gives no company address, no founding year and no team or company size. It does not say where the cars are based, which matters for a wedding far from the named cities, or whether reaching an alpine venue adds cost beyond what the booking tool shows. It says the chauffeurs are "professionally trained" but does not say which languages they speak; the English site is a good sign, but ask. Winter driving to mountain venues is not addressed on the wedding page. And because decoration is "on request," confirm in writing what will be on the car, and when it will arrive.

Who it suits

Limousine Hire suits an international couple who wants to book modern chauffeured cars online in English, see a price before paying, and handle guest airport transfers and the wedding day with one company. The by-the-hour option, the decoration offer and the 15-seat Sprinter make it flexible for weddings with guests spread across hotels.

It does not suit a couple looking for a classic or vintage wedding car, since the fleet is modern sedans, vans and electric cars. And couples who prefer to meet a supplier in person may find the booking-tool model impersonal; the contact form and phone numbers are there for questions the tool cannot answer.
