Mustang GT
Tap a star to rate
Mustang GT rents a Ford Mustang GT 500 convertible to drive yourself, by the day, with collection at railway stations in Bern, Zurich, Aarau, Lucerne, Zug and Basel or delivery to your own address. The site has a separate wedding car page in its menu and offers wedding decoration as a priced extra. With every price on the homepage and an online booking form that calculates the offer, it is one of the most transparent listings in this category.
The car
The homepage describes one model, the "Mustang GT 500 Cabrio," with 450 PS, a sport exhaust, air conditioning and a convertible top. The site sells it as a dream car to drive yourself or to give as a gift, and calls the Mustang a real classic among sports cars that has thrilled car fans for decades. The homepage mentions no chauffeur, and the booking form includes an additional driver as an extra, which tells you the renter drives.
For a wedding, the appeal is simple: an open American car for the drive from ceremony to reception and for photographs, driven by the groom, the bride or a friend. The site does not give a seat count.
Prices
The homepage lists the rental rates with kilometers included:
- 1 day, CHF 399, including 150 km
- 2 days, CHF 699, including 300 km
- 3 days, CHF 899, including 450 km
- 4 days, CHF 1049, including 600 km
- 5 days, CHF 1199, including 750 km
- 6 days, CHF 1349, including 900 km
- 7 days, CHF 1499, including 1050 km
The booking form lists these extras:
- additional driver, CHF 50
- wedding decoration ("Hochzeitsdekoration"), CHF 80
- earlier pickup the day before, between 17:00 and 19:00, CHF 100
- extended return, between 19:00 and 22:00, CHF 100
Pickup and return at your own address cost a flat CHF 80 per service. The form calculates any additional kilometers beyond the included amount and shows a deposit ("Kaution") line in the offer, but the homepage text does not state the per-kilometer rate or the deposit amount; the offer is calculated once you enter your dates.
For a wedding, the day-before pickup is the useful extra. For CHF 100 you can collect the car the evening before and have it ready at the hotel in the morning, and the extended return lets you keep it until 22:00 on the day.
Where you collect it
The booking form offers Bern, Zurich, Aarau, Lucerne, Zug and Basel stations as pickup and return points, or "An eigene Adresse," your own address. The site also lists cantons where the car can be collected at various locations, cities and stations: Zurich, Bern, Lucerne, Schwyz, Obwalden, Glarus, Zug, Fribourg, Solothurn, Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft, Schaffhausen, Thurgau, Aargau, both Appenzells, St. Gallen and Graubünden. It notes that not all locations are online yet and invites you to ask if yours is missing.
Standard pickup and return times run from 09:00 to 19:00 in half-hour steps, and the two paid extras above stretch that into the previous evening and the late evening.
Booking and contact
Booking runs in three steps on the homepage: the rental period (station or address, date and time for pickup and return), then the offer with extras and a comments field, then your contact details. You can also write to info@mustang-gt.ch, call the mobile number on the site or use WhatsApp. The menu includes an FAQ page, a wedding car page, a gallery, gift vouchers and terms and conditions (AGB).
The site is in German only. It does not say whether English is spoken, so write in English and see how the reply comes back.
What people say
The homepage shows a Google rating of 4.7 and a handful of short German reviews from 2019. Barbara Durr wrote that they rented the Mustang for a day "und die Erfahrung war fabelhaft" (and the experience was fabulous). Kristian Busch booked at short notice for a sunny weekend and said everything worked. Teresa Baier called it a surprise birthday present that "War super!" (was great). Maria Mehler wrote "Was für ein Fahrzeug! Nur empfehlenswert!" (what a car, only to be recommended). Sabrina Kuhn wrote "Was für eine legendäre Erfahrung! Wiederholunsbedarf!" (what a legendary experience, needs repeating). None of the reviews on the page mention a wedding.
A gift as well as a rental
The homepage pitches the car as a present as much as a rental: treat yourself, or give the experience to someone special, and the menu carries a gift voucher page. For a wedding, that opens a second use. Friends or family could give the couple a day with the Mustang, for the wedding itself or for a drive later on. The homepage also says the reservation form lets you enter the place and the rental period you want, so a voucher holder can pick the station nearest to them. The header of the site names Zurich, Aargau, Lucerne, Zug, Bern, Basel and Solothurn as its locations, and the footer's canton list adds Nidwalden, so the exact coverage is worth confirming for a venue off those lists.
What the homepage leaves open
The homepage does not describe what the CHF 80 wedding decoration includes. The minimum driver age, license requirements, insurance cover and excess, the deposit amount and the cancellation rules are not stated in the homepage text; the FAQ and the AGB are where to look, and the offer calculated by the form shows the deposit. A couple from abroad should also check whether a foreign license is accepted before booking. The site gives no guidance on driving the car to a mountain venue.
Who it suits
Mustang GT suits a couple who wants an open American car for the day and has a driver in the party who would enjoy it. The published prices make budgeting easy: a single day with the car costs CHF 399 plus any extras you choose, and the evening-before pickup and late return fit a wedding schedule well. Collection at 6 major stations, or delivery to your address, makes it practical across the cantons it lists.
It does not suit a couple who wants to be driven, or who wants a traditional classic car. And with only the homepage text to go on, the rental conditions need checking in the FAQ and AGB before you commit.
