Anna Lombardi

Anna Lombardi is a wedding fashion boutique at Belpstrasse 3 in Muri bei Bern, and the home page says the name stands for "über 25 Jahre Leidenschaft", more than 25 years of passion. The shop dresses both halves of a couple: wedding dresses under its Sposa line and wedding suits under its Uomo line, with Anna Lombardi herself advising in person. That combination is the main reason to put it on a shortlist. A couple can book one appointment in one shop and work out the bride's dress and the groom's suit together, instead of coordinating two boutiques in two parts of town.
The Sposa line and Anna's styling advice
The Sposa section is introduced with a single line, "Die Suche nach dem perfekten Kleid - wir begleiten Dich" (the search for the perfect dress, and we accompany you through it). The site does not list the bridal designers it stocks, and it does not describe individual gowns, so this is a boutique you judge by the consultation rather than by browsing online.
Anna writes about her own approach in the first person. She credits her southern temperament for the warm hospitality in the shop and for her feel for fashion labels, and she says that over the years she has developed "ein gutes Auge, Geduld und ein glückliches Händchen", which translates as a good eye, patience and a knack for picking the right outfit and style. She offers personal help with image, style, dress code and choice of color, which goes beyond the dress itself and is useful for a bride who has no fixed idea of what suits her.
The shop's promise, set out under "Unser Versprechen", is "herzliche, höchstpersönliche und fachkundige Beratung", warm, highly personal and expert advice. The appointment tile on the home page describes a visit as "Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis", an experience to remember, and the menswear page says every guest who walks in receives a highly personal service. A "Real Brides" section, subtitled "Von uns eingekleidet" (dressed by us), collects wedding photos and thank-you letters from past clients.
The Uomo line and Scabal made-to-measure suits
The menswear side is described in more detail. The Uomo page names 5 labels: Morgan Milano, Privé cerimonia, Siciliano, Scabal and Angelo Nardelli, and says they make sure the man beside the bride is also a highlight. The same page shows collection shoots titled "Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & THE SPA" and "Villa Mettlen", listed under 2026.
For a groom who wants more than an off-the-rack suit, the boutique offers made-to-measure suits from Scabal. The page describes the cloths as "Wolle, Kashmir, Seide und Mohair" (wool, cashmere, silk and mohair) and the workmanship as "Made in Germany". The process starts with an appointment for measurements and for choosing the fabric, the fit, options and buttons. The personal touches the page names are initials inside the jacket or on personalized horn buttons, an enlarged inside pocket for a passport and travel documents, and a reinforced inside pocket for a smartphone. Each suit, the page says, becomes a one-off made to the wearer's needs.
That passport pocket is a small detail with some appeal for a groom flying in for the wedding or flying out on a honeymoon. The page does not say how long a made-to-measure suit takes to produce, so a groom planning around a fixed date should ask for the lead time at the measuring appointment rather than assume one.
Wedding fair and ring partner
The blog on the home page includes a post from Monday, February 11, 2019 about the MariNatal 2019 wedding fair in Bern. The shop describes three days of showing its collection for bride and groom to visitors and talking through the range for women and men. It is an old post, but it shows the boutique has taken part in the local wedding-fair circuit.
Under "Unser Partner" Anna recommends a wedding-ring studio, La Gioia Ascona, on Lago Maggiore in Ticino. She writes that she visited, enjoyed the view and spoke at length with Andreas and Martina there, and she describes the concept as offering "unvergleichliche Vorteile" (incomparable advantages). This is a recommendation, not a service of the boutique: rings are bought from La Gioia in Ascona, not in Muri bei Bern.
Address, hours and how to book
The boutique is at Belpstrasse 3, 3074 Muri bei Bern. Opening hours, as published on every page:
- Monday closed
- Tuesday to Friday 09.00 to 12.00 and 13.30 to 18.30
- Saturday 09.00 to 16.00
The phone number is 031 951 16 07, and both pages invite visitors to call to ask about the range or to arrange a personal consultation. An e-mail address is listed, but it is hidden behind a spam-protection script and only shows with JavaScript turned on, so the phone is the most direct route. The menu also links to a contact page titled "Termin vereinbaren" (make an appointment).
The site does not say how far ahead to book, whether evening or Monday appointments can be arranged, or how many companions can come along to a fitting.
What the site leaves open for couples from abroad
The whole site is in German and uses the informal "Du" throughout. It does not say whether consultations are available in English, and the name, the tagline "Con Stile" and the Italian line names hint at Italian but do not state it. A couple who does not speak German should ask about languages when calling to book, and bring a German speaker if the answer is no.
The site publishes no prices for dresses, ready-made suits or Scabal made-to-measure work, and it does not list the size range carried for either line. It also says nothing about alterations: whether dresses are altered in-house, how many fittings are included, or what they cost. For a couple planning from abroad, fittings are the hard part, because each one means a trip to Muri bei Bern. Ask how many visits a dress and a made-to-measure suit usually need before committing.
Who it suits
Anna Lombardi suits couples who want both outfits from one place and one adviser, and who value a personal consultation over a large showroom. The menswear offer is the stronger documented side, with named labels and a clear made-to-measure process, so it is a particularly good fit for a groom who wants a Scabal suit with personal details. It suits couples living in or near Bern, or visiting often enough to attend fittings, better than those who can make only a single trip. The caveats are practical ones: a German-only website, no published prices, no stated production times, and an e-mail address that is hard to find. A phone call answers all four, and it is the booking route the shop itself puts first.
