Atelier Coup de Coeur is a bridal boutique at Grand-Rue 31 in Corgémont, founded and led by Nicole Christen, and its website sums up the business in three words: "VENTE - LOCATION - RETOUCHES", sales, rental and alterations. It dresses the bride, the groom and the wider party, with wedding dresses, suits, and cocktail dresses for bridesmaids and guests, and it opens only by appointment, Monday to Saturday. The site is in French and short, but it is clear on the essentials: who runs the shop, what it offers and how to book.
The name and the approach
A "coup de cœur" is the French for something you fall for at first sight, and the name is the shop's pitch. The "Notre histoire" (our story) section says the team has at heart helping couples find "la tenue parfaite pour célébrer l'amour", the perfect outfit to celebrate love. It describes an elegant selection of wedding dresses and suits and "superbes robes cocktail pour les demoiselles d'honneur et les invités", cocktail dresses for bridesmaids and guests. Each visit, the text says, is a special moment so that the customer finds "une tenue à votre image", an outfit that suits who they are.
The inclusion of guests and bridesmaids matters. A couple can send the rest of the party to the same shop, which is useful when bridesmaids are meant to coordinate.
Who runs it
Nicole Christen is described as the "fondatrice et spécialiste en mode nuptiale depuis plus de 20 ans", the founder and a bridal fashion specialist for more than 20 years. The site says she holds diplomas in sewing ("couture") and in sales, and that she advises with passion and expertise so that the customer's choice is a sure "coup de cœur". That combination of dressmaking training and retail experience is relevant to the alterations side of the business, since the person selling the dress also knows how it is put together.
Her daughter Ilona works alongside her and handles administration and communication, making sure, in the site's words, that everything runs smoothly. It is a small family business, and the site names no other staff.
Sales, rental and alterations
The three services are presented with equal weight on the home page, and between them they cover most situations:
- Sales of wedding dresses, suits and cocktail dresses
- Rental, the "location" in the tagline, for those who do not want to own the outfit
- Alterations, "retouches", to make a dress or suit fit
The site does not say which items can be rented, whether rental covers wedding dresses as well as suits and cocktail dresses, or whether alterations are offered on clothes bought elsewhere. Those are the first questions for a couple weighing up rental against purchase.
The collections
The menu lists three collections, Collection 2024, Collection 2025 and Collection 2026, and the home page announces the 2026 collection as "Disponible dès maintenant en boutique", available now in the shop, with a "Découvrir la collection" (discover the collection) link and a "Réserver un essayage" (book a fitting) button. The collection pages themselves carry only a heading, so the site shows no dresses, names no designers and publishes no prices for purchase or rental.
The menu also has an entry called "Journées déstockage", clearance days. The site does not give dates or details, but it signals that the shop holds sales of older stock, which could interest a couple on a tighter budget. Ask when the next one is.
Opening hours and booking
The "Horaires d'ouverture" section states that, to offer a personal experience, the atelier is open "exclusivement sur rendez-vous, du lundi au samedi", exclusively by appointment from Monday to Saturday, and adds "Nous nous adaptons à vos disponibilités", we fit around your availability. There are no walk-in hours.
Appointments can be made by phone on 032 489 24 14, by e-mail to info@ateliercoupdecoeur.ch, or through the contact form on the home page, which asks for name, e-mail, postal address, phone number and a message. The address is Grand-Rue 31, 2606 Corgémont. The form's address fields are laid out for a Swiss postcode and town ("NPA + Localité"), but a couple abroad can simply use e-mail instead.
The "Notre histoire" text ends with an open invitation, "Une question, un conseil ? Contactez-nous", a question or some advice, get in touch, so a first message asking about languages, rental and prices before committing to a fitting is exactly what the shop asks for. It helps to give the wedding date, who needs dressing (bride, groom, bridesmaids, guests) and whether renting or buying is preferred, so the appointment can be planned around the right stock.
What a couple from abroad still has to ask
The website is in French only and does not say whether consultations are available in German or English. A couple who does not speak French should ask that in the first e-mail.
Beyond language, the site leaves a good deal open:
- Prices. No figures for buying, renting or altering anything.
- Brands. No designers are named in any collection.
- Rental terms. Nothing on deposits, rental periods, cleaning or what happens if a rented dress is altered.
- Appointment length and lead time. The site does not say how long a fitting lasts or how far ahead to book.
- Access. The site gives the street address but nothing on parking or public transport.
For a couple living abroad, the flexibility the shop promises on appointment times is the most useful point, because it makes a single planned visit easier to arrange. Whether alterations can be finished within one trip, or need a return visit, is not stated and should be asked early.
Who it suits
Atelier Coup de Coeur suits couples living around Corgémont, or those willing to travel there, who want to dress the bride, the groom and the bridesmaids in one place, and who like the option to rent rather than buy. The founder's twenty-plus years in bridal fashion and training in sewing make it a reasonable choice for a bride who expects alterations. The drawbacks come from the website: no prices, no designer names, no photographs in the collection pages and nothing in English. All of it has to be settled by phone or e-mail, and a couple who likes to shortlist dresses online before booking will not be able to do that here.
