Braut Atelier mozoma is a bridal atelier and showroom at Forchstrasse 31 in Zurich, not far from Kreuzplatz, founded and run by designer Margo Osinski. It specializes in modern bridal wear: two-piece outfits, bridal jumpsuits and trouser suits, mix-and-match separates and outfits for the civil ceremony, alongside more conventional wedding dresses in clean, romantic and boho styles. The site publishes its price range, its production times and an online shop with prices, and it offers alterations in its own workroom.

Margo Osinski and the idea behind the atelier

The home page introduces the founder in her own words: "Ich bin Margo Osinski – Designerin, Schnitttechnikerin und Gründerin", designer, pattern cutter and founder. "Seit 2014", since 2014, she has been helping brides find their dress, "mit europäischer Qualität, ehrlicher Beratung und einem Herz für Individualität", with European quality, honest advice and a heart for individuality. The site also describes her as a stylist who guides each bride through a personal consultation.

The central idea is clothes that outlast the day. The site promises a look "der nicht nur am Hochzeitstag, sondern auch danach tragbar ist", wearable not only on the wedding day but afterwards too. The menu links to a press interview on sustainable bridal wear, and the tops, skirts, blazers and jackets in the range are designed to be combined and worn again.

What the atelier carries

The styles the site names are Clean Chic, Romantic, Vintage and Boho, and the menu breaks the collection down further:

  • Mix and Match two-piece outfits, built from separate tops and skirts
  • Braut Jumpsuit and bridal trouser suits
  • Standesamt (civil ceremony) outfits
  • Boho, Clean Chic and Romantic wedding dresses, including A-line and fit-and-flare cuts
  • Farbige Brautkleider, colored wedding dresses, and a black A-line line
  • Curvy Bride
  • A Sample Sale of reduced one-off pieces
  • A Designer Marken page for other labels

The collection is marked "Made in EU". According to the FAQ, the bride tries on sample models, and the chosen design is then made "in unseren Partnerateliers", in the atelier's partner workshops.

Sizes, production times and prices

The FAQ is specific. The try-on samples are in sizes 38/40, and in the Curvy Bride range up to 52. Once a model is chosen it is made to order, which takes between 3 and 6 months depending on the model and finish. Made-to-measure bridal wear ("Brautmode nach Mass") is also offered, with a production time of 6 to 8 months.

On price, the FAQ says the cheapest wedding dress in the atelier costs CHF 350, in the sample sale, and that the average price of its wedding dresses and bridal outfits is between CHF 1,100 and CHF 1,700. Special requests and adjustments are charged on top.

The online shop shows individual pieces with prices, for example the EFE short bridal top at CHF 220, the ISAURA blazer at CHF 690, the ELENA bridal skirt at CHF 540, bridal shoes at CHF 149 and sandals at CHF 159, a chiffon shawl at CHF 79, and tulle veils at CHF 239 and CHF 259. Prices include VAT, with shipping extra. For a couple abroad, that means accessories and some separates can be ordered to be sent, although the site's shipping terms page should be checked for delivery outside Switzerland.

The shop's categories go beyond dresses: bridal sweaters, cardigans and jackets, bridal shoes, veils and capes, bridal bodysuits, jewelry and handmade accessories. Mix-and-match tops such as the Highneck Oberteil 418 at CHF 150 and the Highneck Oberteil 500 at CHF 190 can be combined with the skirts, which is how a two-piece outfit is built.

Planning from abroad

The published times make a timetable possible. A made-to-order piece takes 3 to 6 months after the fitting where it is chosen, made-to-measure takes 6 to 8 months, and alterations need a booking some 4 to 8 weeks before the wedding, depending on which page is read. A bride living outside Switzerland therefore needs at least one trip to Zurich to choose and one for the pinning appointment, and the first trip has to fall well before the production time runs out. Asking whether the order can be placed after a single visit, and whether accessories can be shipped abroad, saves a trip.

Short notice and the sample sale

For brides without months to spare, the FAQ says there are regularly sample-sale models, usually reduced because they are one-off pieces or discontinued lines, that can be taken home at once if the size and style fit. The home page announces the sample sale "im JUNI", in June, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:00 to 19:00, and there is also a sample-sale section in the online shop.

Alterations

The atelier has its own workroom, "ein Schneideratelier, das auf Brautkleidänderungen spezialiesiert ist", specialized in wedding dress alterations, and it alters dresses bought elsewhere too. The alterations section asks brides to book a pinning appointment about 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding; the FAQ gives about 6 to 8 weeks. The earlier figure is the safer one to plan around.

Booking and contact

Fitting appointments are booked online and are free ("kostenlosen Termin"). If no slot suits, the site asks brides to phone, adding "wir haben auch Möglichkeit für spontane Termine", there are also options for short-notice appointments. The phone number is +41786004137, the e-mail address mozoma@mozoma.ch, and the showroom address is Forchstrasse 31, 8032 Zürich. The FAQ also links to a description of how a fitting runs, in several steps.

What the site leaves open

The site is in German and uses the informal "Du". It does not say whether consultations are held in English, so a couple should ask when booking. It publishes no opening hours, as everything runs by appointment, and says nothing about parking or public transport to Forchstrasse. It does not say how many fittings a made-to-order dress includes, or what the Curvy Bride and colored ranges cost compared with the average.

Who it suits

Braut Atelier mozoma suits a bride who wants something other than a classic gown, such as a jumpsuit, a two-piece or a civil-ceremony outfit she can wear again, and who wants to know roughly what it will cost before she walks in. With 3 to 6 months for made-to-order pieces, it suits brides who plan ahead; the sample sale is the route for a short timeline. Brides outside the 38/40 sample sizes should check the Curvy range, which goes up to 52.
