House of Wedding

House of Wedding didn't open as a single shop. It's the merger of 3. Natalie Schuler opened a bridal boutique called Weddingdresses Secondhandboutique in 2014, after a banking apprenticeship and the birth of her twins. In 2021 she and her mother, Ursula "Uschi" Lehmann, opened a second shop, Boho Bride Boutique. The following year they added an outlet in Kaltbrunn. In March 2025 the family folded all 3 locations into a single 350-square-metre house in Gommiswald, a small town in canton St. Gallen, and opened it under the current name. Uschi and Natalie still run it together as co-owners; Natalie's sister, Stefanie Lehmann, handles marketing.

That history is why the shop covers more ground under one roof than most single-purpose bridal boutiques do: bridal gowns, a groom's suit department, formal wear for the rest of the wedding party, a secondhand rail, an outlet corner and wedding rings, all booked through the same phone number and fitted in the same rooms rather than farmed out to separate specialists across town.

The bridal side alone runs to over 450 dresses in sizes 36 to 52, drawn from a roster of 23 labels the shop lists together across every department rather than splitting out which brand serves which: Anna Sposa, Aria Bride, Ariamo, Avalia, Bianco Evento, Dama Couture, Digel, Gautsche Shoes, GBS Herve Paris, G. That makes House of Wedding a stockist rather than a maker: it buys in from established European bridal and menswear houses rather than cutting its own line. The groom's suits draw from the same combined list, described on the site only as quality suits from European manufacturers cut in boho, classic and business styles; no individual brand is pinned to menswear specifically, and no suit price is published anywhere on the site. The ring counter is narrower and does carry a named maker: Rauschmayer, German-made, configurable through Rauschmayer's own design tool in fairtrade gold, platinum, palladium, titanium or platinum-plated silver, again with no starting price stated.

Every visit runs by appointment. The contact page is direct about it: to get the shop's attention you always need to book ahead, and there's no walk-in service. A consultation or a first fitting is booked through an online scheduler, and both are free, so trying dresses on costs nothing before a couple commits to buying. 2 dedicated wedding lounges mean a bride can bring up to 5 companions along rather than being limited to a single guest. Alteration and pickup appointments, and anything to do with selling a secondhand dress, are handled separately, by phone or email rather than the online widget. The shop's own service list adds a few practical details around the fitting itself: a bar with a selection of free drinks in the lounge, matching accessories and shoes sourced from the same brand list, a storage service for the finished dress, and free parking directly outside the building, useful in a small town rather than a city centre where parking is its own negotiation.

Off the rail, or made to order

The one figure House of Wedding puts in writing is for the outlet, not the main collection: retired display models from past seasons that the label can no longer reorder, priced between CHF 300 and CHF 1200. The shop is upfront that these dresses can carry small marks or flaws from repeated try-ons, which is the whole reason they're discounted. Nothing on the site states a figure for the in-line 450-dress collection, the groom's suits, the rings or the formal wear; a couple has to ask at the appointment, which is ordinary for a boutique that prices in the fitting room rather than online.

Alterations happen in-house, done by Daniela Schnider, listed on the team page as the shop's own seamstress. House of Wedding will also alter a dress bought somewhere else, if the timing allows, on request by phone; no alteration price is published either way.

What the site never states, on any of its pages, is a lead time from ordering a dress to collecting it. That is the number a couple flying in from abroad actually needs to plan a trip around, and House of Wedding simply doesn't print it anywhere, including its dedicated service page. With over 450 gowns already hanging in the shop, a dress found on a first visit may well leave with the bride the same day. A dress ordered to size from one of the 23 labels runs on a different clock entirely, set by the label rather than the shop, and only a direct question at the appointment will get a real answer. Secondhand and outlet, run from the same address

The secondhand rail draws on 2 sources: House of Wedding's own past stock and dresses brought in from other bridal shops. Everything offered for resale is checked first, and only pieces the shop calls flawless, or as new and current, are taken in. Selling a dress here comes with specific conditions: it can't be older than 3 years, it has to arrive cleaned, and it needs to fall inside the shop's 36 to 52 size range; light wear is fine as long as the overall condition is good. Neither buying nor selling secondhand comes with a published price, so that conversation also happens face to face.

German only, and what that means for booking from abroad

The whole site runs in German, and nothing on it advertises English-language consultations. That isn't the same as saying nobody on the team speaks English, only that the site doesn't say either way. A couple who needs the fitting itself to run in English should confirm that by phone or email before booking, rather than assume it from a shop with an international brand list on its walls.

None of that changes the basic case for House of Wedding. It's a mother-and-daughter team still booking their own appointments, with free consultations and fittings, and one of the few shops in this category where the bride's dress, the groom's suit, a secondhand option and the wedding rings are all arranged through the same address. Confirm the lead time and the working language before flying in, and the range built from 3 merged businesses does the rest.
